| Article Title :: Self esteem issues that have had affected my life, but please do
not laugh |
| |
|
I have had many confidence issues in my life, all of which I
have either dealt with or overcome. I have written about some of
these issues below.
1. The Bald Patch
2. My height
3. My weight
4. The stutter
5. My lack of belief in myself
6. My career
THE BALD PATCH
Even though to some people it may seem trivial, I was born with
a bald patch the size of a ten pence piece. As I went through
childhood and especially the teenage years I became more and
more self-conscious and paranoid about it.
It was especially noticeable when it rained or when I went
swimming as my hair would become wet. People at school would
ridicule me and I was forever trying to hide and cover the bald
patch even t (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Overcome your communication problem |
| |
|
Apparently one percent of British people suffer from the speech
impediment called a stutter. In this article I describe how to
beat a stutter and how to achieve fluency.
When I had a stutter, I used to be afraid of certain words
beginning with certain letters. Words which began with "b" were
especially hard to say. I also had problems with d, v, g, and p
words. I would avoid these words and also try to find
alterantive words to say. This word substitution is something
that I regularly did, however I wanted to be able to overcome
this stutter once and for all.
I would see a potential job in the newspaper, my lack of speech
confidence would tell me not to apply for it as the interview
would (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Advice For Would Be Whistleblowers |
| |
|
They say no good deed goes unpunished and sadly that is the
truth in the world of the whistleblower. The theory on 'whistle
blowing' is that the individual is helping the community, and
following their ethics, by reporting the offending person or
company. The risk of recrimination is very high and usually
results in a long and difficult fight for the whistleblower.
This battle will likely including legal threats and character
assassination.
So what can you do to protect yourself when you do blow the
whistle? Having been through this process I have gain some
insight on how best to handle the situation.

| Article Title :: Child who has communication problems |
| |
|
A stutter normally starts for people in childhood and is often
referred to as a childhood stutter. This is often very worrying
for parents and the child and it is difficult to know where to
seek help for the person who has the stutter.
There are many types of stutter. Family and friends may not even
be aware that a person they know has a stutter. That is because
the person is able to hide the stutter, by using word avoidance
or word substitution.
Other people are unable to do this and have what they would
consider an openely more severe stutter.
A stutter would normally occur more when a person is:
under pressure when tired meeting new people speaking in an
uncomfortable situation askin (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Always give it your best try and you will be called a winner. |
| |
|
I always say to my children, as long as you try your best, there
is no such thing as failure. I believe this one hundred percent
and it is a philosophy I am trying to install into my kids.
When I worked in the insurance industry, I used to sit the
insurance examinations. I would always study hard and give it my
all, however there were only three options as results. These
were, distinction, pass or fail. I hate this word fail, in their
eyes I failed twice, but did I though? As already stated, I
could not have tried any harder, therefore how dare they call me
a failure.
This result of fail is also a very negative and some what cruel
mark. The question I would like answered, is did I fail by (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Sometimes it's all about perspective... |
| |
|
Kenny Werner, in his book Effortless Mastery, describes a test
that illustrates priorities in life.
Go to the kitchen and get a plastic bag. Place it over your
head, tying the opening snugly around your neck so that no air
can get through. Now, let's count to one hundred. By the count
of 50, let me ask you: How important is that bonus you've been
working overtime to earn. By the count of 60 would you be
fretting about the state of your investments? By 80 no doubt
you'd be worried about your boss asking for those reports you
hadn't finished yet.
I'm not trying to make light of anyone's problems, but sometimes
we make more out of a situation than we should. Life's
day-to-day difficulties ca (read full article) |
