| Article Title :: Telecom Trends and Predictions |

|
My, how our dictionary has changed. Podcast, Skype, Wikipedia,
Googlebot and WiMax were all regularly used terms during 2005.
VoIP, WiFi, Blog, iPod, and SEO are in every day vocabularies.
By the way, SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization just in
case you're uninformed like the vast majority of the populace,
and I believe Podcast was Webster's Word of The Year for 2005.
That was then, and now it's today. What was important and
functional yesterday may not be the case tomorrow. There has
been exponential change in relation to the calendar, in the
field of communications technology advancement. What I mean by
that is that the changes that have taken place over the past
year or two have (read full article) |

| Article Title :: What is CCTV? |
| |
|
CCTV is an acronym that stands for Closed Circuit Television. It
is defined as the use of one or more cameras used for
surveillance purposes. It was initially developed to increase
bank security and has since spread to every corner of the
security industry. Home security systems, businesses,
corporations, organizations, and schools are several examples of
locations that implement CCTV Security Systems. When CCTV
cameras first appeared in the public sphere, they were crude,
low-definition cameras that only recorded in black and white.
They were completely simple and lacked even the ability to pan
or zoom. CCTV cameras today are smaller, sleeker, and far more
technologically advanced than the (read full article) |

| |
|
Finding the right security camera is difficult enough without
having to wade through the terms and figure what the
abbreviations and words actually mean. If you're trying to do
research on a security camera and frustrated with the multitude
of terms that are unknown to the average user, here's a list of
the terms you'll want to know. There are many more out there,
but this is enough to get you started:
DVR: Digital Video Recorder, or 'personal video recorder.'
Usually used when referring to a Security Camera System, you use
a DVR to record broadcasts on a hard disk drive which can then
be played back at a later time. The most well-known type of DVR
is TiVO. They often come with standard fe (read full article) |

| Article Title :: What is a satellite radio? |
| |
|
Satellite radio is also called as digital radio. Since normal
radio frequency is very low, the signals can be limited and you
can listen to your favorite radio channels up to a certain limit
(40, 50, 100 miles). When you go beyond a certain mile your
radio won't get the proper signals. While going for a long
journey, you won't be able to listen to your favorite radio
stations. You need to keep tuning to get the nearest radio
station so that clarity is good.
A satellite radio is a kind of static radio, wherein you can
listen to certain radio stations anywhere in the world. It's a
fixed and permanent radio station. No matter where you are, in
Florida or Texas, while traveling or at home, yo (read full article) |

| Article Title :: The Secrets of "Watchability" for Speakers |
| |
|
"Watchability." Both my spell checker and an online dictionary
tell me that "watchability" is not a real word. However, I will
continue to use it because, in my opinion, the ability to be
watchable may be the single most important trait a speaker can
have.
This summer, I attended the annual convention of the National
Speakers Association. I thought that the kickoff speaker was
amazing. However, if you break down his style in purely
technical terms, he was awful. He kept moving around the stage,
he stepped out of the light and into the audience, he checked
his watch while speaking, etc. Despite all that, he had
watchability. Something about his delivery and style kept me
grossly engaged. Ot (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Islands in an Airport Lounge |
| |
|
A few weeks ago, I went to collect some friends from the
airport. They were arriving just after 11 PM on a Wednesday
night. I arrived fifteen minutes early, in case their flight was
early, and settled down in the arrivals area with all the other
people doing the same thing as me. Then we all sat in silence,
and I wished I'd brought a book.
Some people would say we all sat in silence because we had
nothing to talk about, no common interests to discuss. But I
wondered if that was true. I still do. Maybe five of those
people are just as passionate about the television show 'Lost'
as I am and would love to discuss what they think about it with
someone else. Maybe two of them were single and l (read full article) |

| |
|
Building relationships with your people is the most valuable
action you can take.
This week, make the time to get to know your people better.
Create spaces in your diary to have some conversations with them
which will build rapport.
This makes a big difference if you are to build together as a
team.
All business is built on relationships - even virtual ones where
the only connection between a vendor and customer is virtual.
For most of us, face to face relationships are the order of the
day, yet we find it hard to spend enough time getting to know
the people we work with and who are so valuable to the overall
performance of the business.
Here are six things you can do to start this off (read full article) |
