| Article Title :: The Salmon Versus The Jetboat - And The Winner Is |
| |
| The Labor day weekend has passed, and I was lucky enough to spend one of the days on the Rogue River here in Oregon. Not getting to be a "tourist" in my own backyard very often, we treated ourselves to an exciting day on one of the jetboats that travel down and up the middle section of the Rogue below Grants Pass. This is a bit of a change in river travel for me, as my usual mode of travel is either in a driftboat, walking, or rafting. The jetboats offer a fast lane adventure-usually for tourists with limited time, and looking for the "Readers Digest" version of exploration on the Rogue. We had company visiting and since fishing is not an interest of theirs, this was the (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Winter Time Is Midge Time When It Comes To Fly Fishing For Trout |
| |
| Let’s face it, we dream in Technicolor of size 10 green drake hatches or Hexagenia Limbata as big as beavers - but the reality is Winter Time Is Midge Time. Often the only bugs on the frigid water are so small; they challenge most anglers to consider LASIK. And as you already know, much of the eating is under the surface. At a fly-tying class, I once heard a locally famous fly tier named Pops quip something along the line of "my second best fly tying material supplier is Hobby Lobby". This, of course, assumes that Blue Heron Fly Shop where we were sitting is his "first best". This guy is also well known for the quote "it ain’t no use, if it ain’t chartreuse" but that, as they (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Fishing Alaska: The Guide From Hell |
| |
| Fishing Alaska: The Alaskan Sampler Plate....Part IIThe good fortune of a successful fishing trip to Alaska was already socked away in the fishing memory box, so as far as I was concerned, everything else we caught was "gravy".Now you might say I am a guy with low expectations-and you might be right- but I never get to disappointed anymore(at least when it comes to fishing!) and if I catch more than one fish on a fly, I have pretty much exceeded my goals. Day threes "humpy" fishing was incredible. Thus, we entered day four-hump day on the fishing trip- with low expectations. We hadn't really kept many fish up to this point, so we began thinking about "meat fishin (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Fly Fishing For Fun |
| |
| Fly fishing is very different than fishing with a lure or worm type baits. | Shark Fishing From the Beach
It is a well known fact that in the summertime many Sharks move from the deeper waters offshore into inland waterways and beaches. Why do they do this? Well the Sharks seek warmer shallow waters to carry out mating rituals and to either lay eggs or give live birth. So why is this important? It is very important if you are interested in swimming or in landing huge fish from the bank. There is no other type of fishing (that I know of) where the angler has an exceptional chance of hooking on to a 500lb plus fish while fishing from the bank.Living near the Gulf of Mexico during my youth my family would take at least one vacation each s (read full article) |

So once we got there it was just time to untie the boat and push off for a day on the water. Well once we got past the port captain on the way out of the harbor, we (read full article) |
