Article Title :: Mouth Watering Memphis Style Pork Ribs

The Memphis Style pork rib is one of the most popular and mouth watering styles of rib preparation. One of the reasons for the popularity with the Memphis Style rib is its unique blend of barbeque tradition and flavorful seasonings. The only sauce applied to Memphis Style ribs is mop sauce used for basting during the cooking process. Barbeque sauce is never used during the cooking process but rather served on the side with the ribs at the table. Because a barbeque sauce is not used, the mop sauce is an important component in keeping the meat moist. A Memphis Style barbeque sauce will be a tomato and vinegar based sauce that may also contain mustard. With this style, the quality of the  (read full article)

Article Title :: Mrs. Butters’ Secret Key Lime Pie Recipe

"Frozen Key Lime Pie recipe?" Fern Butters asked. "Child, I’ll take that secret with me to the grave." Fern Butters’ frozen key lime pie was legend. Every time President Harry S Truman went through Islamorada on Upper Matecumbe Key on his way to the "Little White House" in Key West, he stopped. More specifically, he stopped at Fern Inn for some of Fern Butters’ frozen key lime pie. And so did other folks, commoners and dignitaries alike–Papa Hemingway, Cordell Hull, Douglas Fairbanks, Julia Child . And me. I didn’t see any of those famous folks. Except Julia Child. And I didn’t know who she was. Ignorance of youth. But I did eat Mrs. Butters’ frozen key lime  (read full article)

Article Title :: My Cherry Swirl Cheesecake Bake Contribution

Recently I participated in a local bake sale to raise money forthe local animal shelter. I volunteered to bake a dessert, and Ichose to do a couple of Cherry Swirl Cheesecakes. I'm a very picky eater and have never been a fan of cheesecake,so I had to have my mother be my taste tester to see if I'd donean adequate job. She helped me by giving me a couple ofpointers, and after a couple of tries I managed to bake twopretty good cheesecakes (or so my mom says).Cherry Swirl CheesecakeVegetable cooking spray1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling1 teaspoon grated orange rind2 (8-ounce) packages fat free cream  (read full article)

Lemon, vanilla and the more elaborate concoctions such as pumpkin, chocolate chip, cranberry and blueberry are just a few of my favorite cheesecakes. The delight you experience when you take that first bite of your favorite cheesecake can be exhilarating and soothing at the same time. And remembering loved ones at gift-giving time brings to mind even more exciting flavors that are available like raspberry, Neapolitan, bing cherry and key lime, another of my favorite cheesecakes, and one sure to be your favorite as well once you give it a try. There are times when nothing but the best will do, and that's the time to decide to give a freshly baked cheesecake instead of flowers and cho  (read full article)

Article Title :: The Curious History Of Wine Consumption In America

The history of wine consumption in America has been frought with starts, stops, and inconsistencies. The American population has always had a love-hate relationship with alcohol. Historic prohibitionist attitudes amongst much of the American population have blurred the line between moderate wine consumption and detrimental alcoholism. As a result, regular, moderate consumption of wine by the American public continues to face ideological and legal impediments. The History of Wine Consumption During the Colonial YearsSince its origins, the history of wine consumption in America has been both encouraged  (read full article)

Article Title :: My Review Of: Coke C2

Low Carb Offering Tastes Like Its Older Sibling It's gotta be tough for Coke to keep coming up with flavors that keep our attention. Sometimes they do it right, like when they bring out my current favorite, Vanilla Coke. But other times I just shake my head in disbelief, which I just did after tasting their newest release, Coke C2. I can't blame them for trying to cash in on the low-carb "revolution." Everybody and their brother are trying to go where the money is, and right now it's in low-carb snack items. Coke C2 lowers the per-serving calories from 100 (in Coke Classic) to 45 and the carbs from 27 grams to 12 grams.  (read full article)

Article Title :: My Waffle Iron

I had always wanted a waffle iron. At the age of six, I started asking for one, every Christmas and every birthday. I dreamed of making large, golden, square waffles that were slightly crispy on the outside and light on the inside. I got my first wok when I was six, my first ice cream machine a few years later, but sadly, no waffle iron.I’m getting married later this year, and my fiancée and I have already registered in at least one place. Can you guess what the first item I picked was? That’s right…a waffle iron. It turned out to be a premature choice though, because to my surprise, I got my first waffle iron for Christmas. My fiancée put in a good word for me with the rest  (read full article)
