| Article Title :: The Basics of Audio Recording |
| |
|
Audio recording has been with us for more than a hundred years.
The phonograph was invented by Thomas Edison in 1877. It
recorded sound by producing grooves on a soft cylinder which
could be played back by running a needle through the grooves and
amplifying the sound.
The next major development in audio recording was magnetic
recording. Tape recorders were developed in Germany and have
been in common use from the early 1930s up until recently. They
are still being used, but are increasingly being supplanted by
digital recorders.
Magnetic tape recorders have been the essential tools in the
development of the recorded music industry. With the
introduction of multitrack tape recorders in the (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Scrapbooking Resources on the Internet |
| |
|
I must admit right off the bat that I am not a scrap booking
enthusiast. I do, however, have a sister-in-law that is a
die-hard scrap book fan. If ever there was a fan club for scrap
booking, my sister-in-law would be the leader.
I do however work in a public library where I have access to
tons of information on a variety of sources including scrap
booking. Being that I work at the library I use the internet a
lot to research for information. I also do this on a personal
level as well. Upon doing research on the internet, I have a
variety of resources on the internet that will help every scrap
booking enthusiast. Let’s begin.

| Article Title :: Scrapbooking the Dizzying Movies of Toddlers |
| |
|
Toddlers are highly energetic life forces. Between infancy and
kindergarten school days, your toddler is often fully involved
in massive actions and activities. Sometimes, your kid hardly
let you slow down enough to take a deep breath before he or she
is off to another "movie" stunt.
One moment, your toddler is the angelic little kid with great
innocence, and within seconds he or she has morphed into a
bundle of horror! Such spirited and tireless days are mixed up
with endless explorations, comical episodes and crazy chaos.
It's all these exasperating, frustrating, endearing in-between
moments, that make their ways into your scrapbook pages as
little movies starring your precious toddler (read full article) |

| Article Title :: The "Hot" New Collectibles |
| |
|
A few months ago I wrote an article named “Signed vs. Unsigned -
Buying Art, Pottery and Collectibles”. The basic premise of the
article was my own opinion about “Should you pay the price for
signed jewelry, art and collectibles, as opposed to buying what
you love, whether signed or unsigned?”. Since writing that
article, I have read in one of my many collectible newsletters
and magazines that the “hot” new collectible trend is buying
unsigned and unknown artist and artisan items. I personally
think this is great! Not only does it help the collectibles
market, in several different areas such as unsigned jewelry,
studio art pottery and original artworks, who is to say what

| Article Title :: For the Birds |
| |
|
Decorative and elaborate or simple and functional, birdfeeders
and birdhouses are lovingly coveted by many people (and birds)!
The collector seeking a new piece for the den or study need only
consider personal taste and aesthetics- many who enjoy the
careful art and craftsmanship of a beautiful birdhouse or feeder
would never think of placing their precious gift outside in the
rain and other elements.
The serious or novice birder, on the other hand, has just a bit
more to consider. With a minimal amount of work and some
forethought, anyone interested can enjoy observing and
identifying birds from their own urban or rural yards or decks
throughout the entire year. It is possible to attrac (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Make A Stunning Dried Hydrangea Wreath |
| |
|
Dried hydrangea wreaths are so beautiful and versatile in a
home, and a lot of fun to make as well.
You can either purchase already dried hydrangea flowers from
your local craft store, or you can dry your own. The biggest
trick when drying your own is the timing of when you pick the
flowers. It is best to pick them right before you anticipate
your first fall frost. If you pick them mid-summer, they just
will not dry correctly.
You can either hang them upside down in a darkened room to dry,
or you can set them in a vase upright, even adding a tiny bit of
water in the bottom of the vase, although even that is optional.
As long as they are picked at the correct time, it’s difficult
to fa (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Buying a new digital camera |
| |
|
I feel, after visiting so many websites and reading so much
advice, and also by frequently visiting photography forums, that
I have to speak on this subject.
For the majority of the buying public, there are 2
categories that we fall into when getting started or upgrading
in digital photography, the "Absolute Beginner" or the "Amateur"
(or serious amateur sometimes labelled as semi pro).
Now for the beginner, or someone getting started
in photography itself (not just digital), the choice of cameras
nowadays is quite overwhelming! Everywhere you look there are
cameras, not just in camera shops like the good old days.
You even get given a cheap digital camera as (read full article) |

Having this nagging doubt that you may upstage your precious
photos or clutter your pages with scrapbooking embellishments?
One moment you're just so tempted to paste the embellishment
onto your page, and the next moment you're questioning yourself,
"Should I? Should I not?” You even wonder if you're just trying
to force that simply irresistible page accent onto your page to
satisfy your craving for… more embellishments.
Well, you're in good company. I still remember the first time I
encountered packets and packets of wondrous embellishments. My
eyes sparkled with enthusiasm, and my heart fluttered in

| Article Title :: Is your digital camera compatible with your computer? |
| |
|
So you recently bought a digital camera or perhaps your
thinking about it. And perhaps you may be wondering how many
pictures will your computer hold? First you need to answer a few
questions to come to an accurate conclusion. First, how big is
your hard drive and how much free space does it currently have?
You can find the answer to that question by first left-clicking
on "My Computer:" Right-click on "C drive." A menu should
appear. Left-click on "Properties." A pie chart should be
displayed that will show you the size of the hard drive and how
much of the disk drive is free. Your next step is too know how
many mega pixels does your camera have? A pixel is a light
sensing cell on the ima (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Dragons: A History of Mythology and Beliefs |
| |
|
The oldest culture in the world to utilize dragons in their
mythology and beliefs, are the Chinese. For them, the dragon is
a divine, mythical creature that brings good fortune, prosperity
and bounty. It is the symbol of emperors and imperial rule, and
its legends have shaped a good portion of modern Chinese
culture.
The dragon is a positive force, and represents
power, excellence, and striving for goals, as well as being a
benevolent force, which radiates goodwill, good luck, and
blessings. Shrines to them can be found in many places in China,
usually near the sea, since Eastern dragons tended to be water
creatures.
In Eastern culture, the dragon represents the
essential forces of Natu (read full article) |
