| Article Title :: Growing Your Own Herbs for Tea |
| |
|
If you love herbal teas, as I do, you know they are just a
little bit pricey. However, growing your own herbs is easy and
so much fun!
Here are just a few of the herbs you might want to consider for
a tea garden:
Chamomile: Remember the favorite tea of Peter Rabbit? Only the
flowers of this fragrant herb are used when making tea.
Chamomile tea can be enjoyed by itself or you might enjoy adding
mint or lemon verbena.
Lemon Balm: This herb is lemony with a touch of mint and makes a
soothing cup of tea. It's easy to grow (almost too easy) so
remember to keep it clipped back.
Lemon Verbena: An excellent herb to grow in a sunny spot, it
makes a delicious tea. You might try combining it (read full article) |

Balm of Gilead (Cedronella canariensis)
Jeremiah 46:11 Go up to Gilead and take balm, O virgin, the
daughter of Egypt; In vain you will use many medicines; You
shall not be cured.
Words & Music: African-American spiritual.
There is a balm in Gilead To make the wounded whole; There is a
balm in Gilead To heal the sin sick soul.
Some times I feel discouraged, And think my work’s in vain, But
then the Holy Spirit Revives my soul again.
There is a balm in Gilead To make the wounded whole; There is a
balm in Gilead To heal the sin sick soul.
If you can’t preach like Peter, If you can’t pray like Paul,
Just tell the love of Jesus, And say He died for all.

Buying the Right Guitar By Michael Setz www.guitars-on-line.com
Buying the right guitar can be a lot more difficult than it
seems. That's because there are a lot of them to choose from;
electric, acoustic, classical, folk, hollow body, semi-hollow
body, solid body, 12-string, and 7 string just to name the more
common ones. Which one is right for you? First, it will be
important for you to know the type of music you are interested
in playing. If you are only interested in screaming solos, you
could probably just focus on an electric guitar. If you like
playing folk music, a steel string acoustic would be an
excellent choice. What about Classical and finger picking? A
Classical guitar is def (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Collecting Antique Maps - A Beginner's Guide |
| |
|
California wasn’t always attached to the west coast of the North
American continent. It used to be an island. At least, that’s
what mapmakers, mostly European, believed for about 100 years,
from around 1650 to 1750. So that’s how they drew it on their
maps. The “Island of California,” as it is commonly called, is
just one of the innumerable collecting niches that are possible
in the increasingly popular field of antique map collecting.
Antique map collecting is a tradition that goes back hundreds of
years, which is perhaps one reason why there is such an enormous
amount of material, from the affordable to the prohibitively
expensive, in circulation today. Two reasons for the popu (read full article) |

The unwritten “reality” of letter writing
You may wonder why I have chosen this title of this post. Well
from my experience is that it is really hard to put the feeling
into words about what letter writing means to me. Letter writing
is becoming a lost art on many levels. It is fading into the
background of society. It is still practised by many people. It
is those people that I am looking to connect with. I have been
told by many people whom have read my posts that they feel the
same way about letter writing as I do. I want to hear from those
people what they feel; I want to hear their words. I think that
it is so important that we embrace the things that we are
passionate about. In t (read full article) |

| |
|
Going to the movies may not seem like a novel way for little
kids to spend an afternoon. But have you ever brought your child
to see a Disney flick and ended up viewing trailers for Jeepers
Creepers 2 or Freddie vs. Jason? When this happened in a
Birmingham, Alabama cinema last year, parents became concerned
about what the main attraction would be. But before the managers
at the cinema could turn off the previews, the main attraction
came on, and it wasn’t Piglet. Instead they were presented with
the gruesome opening of Wrong Turn, an 18-rated slasher flick in
much the same vein as the previews.
Is there a more genre more criticized than the horror film? Not
bloody likely. There’s the (read full article) |

Preserved Flower Candles Putting flowers in your candle will add
a unique look, while preserving your favorite flower. Written by
Expressive Candles We have been asked many times, how to put
flowers and other objects on the outside of a candle. So, we'll
be showing you how it is done. The most important thing to
remember is to be safe. Putting anything on your candle such as
paint, dried flowers, ribbon and other objects, pose a fire
risk. While this is unlikely to happen with this project, we
need to warn you before hand. We do not recommend burning any
candle that has flammable material on it. To start with, you
will need a few supplies. First and the most important is a big
pillar candle (read full article) |

| |
|
I started my coffee roasting career as a home roaster. Getting
started was easier than I thought. And as I did so, it occured
to me how a relatively simple concept, roasting coffee beans,
has been made to appear to be an arcane art, with a variety of
roast types held out as arcane knowledge. How many different
names have you run across for different types of coffee roasts?
Light, Medium, Dark? Espresso? Continental? Vienna, French,
Italian, Spanish? City? Full-City? C'mon, who's thinking up
these things?
Well, the dark secret (pardon the pun) of the coffee industry is
that, well, there really isn't full agreement on which roast is
which. So basically, we all pretty much get to hunt around (read full article) |
