 Article Title :: Chess Secrets
THE mental development of the chess player is a gradual struggle from a state of chaos to a clear conception of the game. The period required for such development largely depends upon the special gifts the learner may possess, but in the main the question of methods predominates. Most beginners do not troublevery much about any particular plan in their study of chess, butas soon as they have learnt the moves, rush into the turmoil ofpractical play. It is self-evident that their prospects undersuch conditions cannot be very bright. The play of a beginner is plan less, because he has too many plans, and the capacity for subordinating all his combinations to one leading idea is non-existent.  (read full article)

 Article Title :: How To Achieve More Distance With Your Shots
There's an old adage that says that distance is related to two things: Clubhead speed and correct ball contact. Put these two things together and you have distance. As with many things in golf, this is not an either/or proposition. Both areas have to be in sync for the desired results to occur. The fastest clubhead speed in the world won't do much for your distance (or ego) if it isn't accompanied with proper clubface contact. And likewise, the best contact won't do any good for distance if there is no speed on the clubhead. In order to acheive distance, you need both. Clubhead speed is controlled by a number of factors and they all need to be working together to get the results you want.  (read full article)

 Article Title :: How To Fix The Dreaded Slice
Here are two words that every golfer who has grass stains on his shoes has heard and dread. Slice and Hook. The top players, those who have mastered the game, actually use these types of shots to get around things that may be in their way. When this happens, those words become fade and draw and they can be a powerful weapon in golfer's arsenal of shots. But for the rest of us, they're just mistakes we make and off we go shagging our wayward ball. This article is about the slice. We'll discuss the hook later. The slice, where the ball curves severely from left-to-right through the air, is a very destructive shot. The slice is such a common mistake that entire books have been written on t  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Become A Better Golfer By Watching Yourself
I suppose there's a time in every golfer's life when he feels something in his game "just ain't right". Yet, try as he may, he just can't put his finger on it. Well, there's a quick way to get through that messy period. One of the very best ways to see what you doing wrong is to watch yourself. That's right, watch yourself. Do this by videotaping yourself and then reveiwing the tape. In fact, one of the best things you can do for your overall game is to videotape yourself hitting a few balls with each of your clubs in various situations. This is a great excercise for the off season, by the way. The easiest way to do this is to have a buddy do the camera work and then you return the favor  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Total Eclipse Of The Sun Expected In March
A total solar eclipse, one of the earth's most unique phenomena is when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, its shadow hitting the Earth and blocking out the Sun. If you're lucky enough to be in the path taken by the centre of that shadow, the Moon will align itself exactly with the sun, blocking it entirely and you'll see a total eclipse. Outside of the path of totality, although a staggering 95% of the Sun is still obscured, the effect of the eclipse is not nearly so vivid - just a quiet, still, evening dusk-like effect. These were the conditions most of us experienced during our 'once in a lifetime' eclipse over the UK mainland on 11 August 1999, with the next not now foreca  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Basic Strategies To Proper Putting
The average golfer could easily make up 10 strokes a ROUND by putting properly. This one point makes proper putting perhaps the most important part of any player's game. And since most of us are not able to get onto the links anyway because of the winter weather, putting is something you can practice at home. There's an old adage that the game of golf should be learned from the green back to the tee. That means putting, chipping, fairway shots, and THEN drives. Remember, most shots in a round are from around the green or on the green itself. It's not uncommon for some players to take as many (and often more) shots while on the green as they did to get to the green. Putting is paramount to   (read full article)

>From the first time people discovered gemstones, they were amazed by their beauty and grace. They understood right from the start that they were unlike any other rocks they could see every day. So they started looking for an explanation and a reason why these precious stones were present on Earth. This has puzzled many people throughout history and yielded to numerous conclusions that were themselves mysterious and romantic. Some said that they were a gift from gods. Others believed they were actually stolen from them. Ancient priest used gems to worship the divinity. Besides the religious importance, some theories suggested that gems have curative capabilities or even help increase sexu  (read full article)

 Article Title :: What Lures, What Fish?
Spoons Considered the most simple of all other lures, they got their name because they look like the head of a spoon. They act for the bait fish by doing a flickering and wobbling movement or action. Spoons are excellent for starters in lure fishing; easy to use and very affordable. Spinners The spinner is basically a blade wherein it does a rotating action on a spindle when being retrieved or taken back through the water as well as it gives off a flash as light is being reflected on the revolving blade, characterizing the bait fish's scales and movements.
