are usually always backgammon instructions that come along to

| Article Title :: The Art of Etching Through Time |
| |
|
Etching is the method of engraving using acid on a metal
surface. It is also a printmaking method wherein the image is
carved into a surface of a metal plate with the use of an acid.
This acid bores into the metal surface, and leaves behind rough
areas or lines if the surface is too narrow.
Etching is a process which is believed to have started in
Augsburg, Germany, by Daniel Hopfer who used the technology in
armor making. Later on, the method was applied to printmaking.
The metal plate used in etching is usually copper or zinc, which
has a thin coating of resin that is resistant to acid. This
coating can also be made of some waxy material. The metal plates
are usually smoked so that the (read full article) |

| Article Title :: To Engrave Or Not To Engrave |
| |
|
Engraving... what comes to mind is the permanence and the sense
of personal ownership it gives to a precious stone, metal, or
wood. It basically entails removing a portion from the exterior
of a bare material by etching signs, insignias, or designs.
Engravers-to-be need to choose from 4 techniques: hand
engraving, pantograph, Computer Numeric Control engraver and
laser engraver.
Hand engraving is the oldest approach of engraving and the most
expensive too. This is performed with the use of a chisel or a
sharp tool carefully tapped into the material surface with
differently weighed hammers. Each tap should be controlled for
precision and accuracy of the over-all design.

| Article Title :: What's Been With Us Since the Dawn of Man? Glassware! |
| |
|
Glasswares have been with us since the dawn of man. Even the
ancient cultures lusted after the beauty of these translucent
crafts. From its humble beginnings as simple baubles, glasswares
have evolved to be a serious, delicate art.
Man probably came across naturally formed glass in the earliest
times. Nature sometimes produces samples of obsidian from the
fusion of minerals through heat. Man then tried to create his
own version of this phenomenon. By experimenting throughout the
ages, he became successful - creating what we now call glass.
The earliest evidence of glassware is found among the cultures
of the Middle East circa 3000 B.C. These glasswares were simple
glass beads - trinkets u (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Crafting Blues: The Day I Had To Learn How To Be Taught |
| |
|
I have fond memories of sitting atop my mother's vinyl sewing
kit when I was little girl, laughing and squealing as my
brothers pushed me around the house, spinning me about like it
was a ride at the amusement park. The kit was one of those
cushioned ottoman style seats on casters. It provided endless
entertainment on a rainy day, but we hardly ever used it, or saw
it used, for much else.
Zooming around on that cushion was my first introduction to
sewing; that is to say virtually no introduction at all. Apart
from the riding, I did like how little shiny notions, cascading
pegs of color, and nesting boxes magically appeared when you
lifted its seat. Although my convivial introduction to nee (read full article) |

| |
|
Film. It's not just the stuff that movies need to exist. It is
the embodiment of anything and everything visual, moving or not.
Think motion pictures. The silver screen. Flicks. That coveted
golden statue more commonly known as the Oscar. Bright lights
and flash bulbs.
It is an art form that has evolved into the much-loved industry
it is today. You can count on this medium to touch people's
hearts, to impart a significant message, to move people to
action, or to teach them a thing or two.
Wise teachers have resorted to film every once in a while when
classroom discussions turn a bit dry, and well, boring. It is
every person's momentary sometimes when they like to be enclosed
in dark spa (read full article) |

| Article Title :: How To Get Your Guitar To Sound The Way You Want. |
| |
|
No matter how well your guitar plays when you first bring it
home, you will come to find it doesn't play exactly the same way
after a time (sometimes even a small period of time). In some
cases the instrument's action and feel is pretty much to your
liking, but you still want to make adjustments to fit your
particular playing needs. Whichever the case, you will want a
guitar set-up to make the guitar play the way you want it to.
Guitar set-ups are something you can do yourself (if you have
the time and tools) or a good tech can accomplish this in about
an hour. In some cases you might be well versed in acoustics but
you don't know how to setup an electric guitar and you want your

What are rubber stamps? Many of you have probably used rubber
stamps before and maybe not knew it or realized what you are
doing. Some of you may have had them or collected them as a
child. And some of you may participate in adult rubber stamp
collecting.
Rubber stamps are basically pieces of rubber cut into designs
that you can press in ink and then press on paper to make the
design that is on the stamp. Many people consider this a great
hobby, even adults. Some people may have the hobby of collecting
the rubber stamps and others may enjoy the hobby of what they
can make with these stamps. They can create many exciting
designs and creations by using rubber stamps. They may make
cards and (read full article) |

Arts have always been one of the most important aspects of
Caribbean culture. As more and more artists from the region
attract international acclaim and attention, the unique style of
Caribbean painters is becoming accessible to wider and more
diverse audiences.
Music and literature are, perhaps, the best-known Caribbean art
forms, with famous names like musician Bob Marley and poet Derek
Walcott creating works the whole world enjoys. But painting is
growing as a recognized form of expression. Such colorful
depictions of island life are especially popular in Cuba, Haiti,
and Jamaica.

| Article Title :: Landscape Painting Tips For Oil Painters |
| |
|
There is something quite magical about painting outdoors. I feel
comfortably secluded with nature having an almost spiritual
connection when I paint a landscape. Landscape painting is a
passion of mine. I would like to share some tips and techniques
that I have become accustomed to using over the years.
My first bit of advice - try not to get overwhelmed by the scene
in front of you. I recall when I first began painting
landscapes; I tried to copy everything exactly as I saw it. I
tried to squeeze in every detail, paint every leaf, branch, and
blade of grass. You will go crazy approaching a landscape this
way. Try and paint your own impression of what you see and not a
copy of it. Squint y (read full article) |
