Article Title :: Overseas Education of Children About America

We have a slight problem in the world and that is that other nations are teaching and educating their children that The United States of America is some sort of big bad bully in the World. Indeed some of the teachers and professors in our own country are busy doing the same. Of course this is utter hokum and complete hogwash; not to mention a little re-writing of the Middle Eastern Conflict, War on Terror and the Attack of 911.This is simple brain washing and it is being spurred on by the mass media hysteria which was incited by the French as they put out a media hit on the United States of America prior to the Iraq Gulf War II. But why did the French turn on the US? Well it is sim  (read full article)

Article Title :: Well You Can Just "Go To Haiti You SOB"

Recently I was listening to a news caster opinion segment on the news and the commenter said; Well you can go to Haiti! What he was saying is; You can go to hell, only instead replacing it for the Television Viewer with Haiti instead. But is Haiti really the living hell people make it out to be? Indeed millions are starving to death there and the country is overrun with Witch Doctors preaching Voodoo Witchcraft and most there have very a very low IQ.One could say that Haiti is somewhat of a hell on Earth compared to most First World Nations. Now Haiti has a new President; Rene Preval. Violence is already down some 20%. These are some rather big changes since the exile of Jean Bertr  (read full article)

Article Title :: Bad Day at Grover's Mill

In 1938 Orson Welles produced a version of War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells (no relation), for an American radio station. His company, Mercury Theater, had already dramatised several books, such as The Count of Monte Christo and Dracula, but now Welles decided on a new approach. At this time radio was still a new and powerful medium. The big radio networks such as CBS and NBC had only been going for about ten years. These were nervous, jumpy times. Storm clouds were gathering over Europe, as Churchill put it. Britain was less than a year away from the most desperate fight for survival in its long history, and most Americans felt that sooner or later they would be involved, too.  (read full article)

Article Title :: The Greatest Man Afloat

Will you remember the famous men Who had to fall to rise again Pick yourself up… Take a deep breath… Dust yourself off And start all over again. Jerome Kern 1936 When C.S. Forrester published the first of his novels about the life and times of Horatio Hornblower in 1937, he virtually created a new genre. ‘The Happy Return’ (‘Beat to Quarters’ in the U.S.) was an instant success and was later made into a film starring Gregory Peck and James Robertson Justice (1951). Forrester wrote eleven novels and five short stories about Horatio Hornblower R.N., charting his career from midshipman and lieutenant to Admiral of the Fleet and Lord  (read full article)

Article Title :: With Great Reverence

One of the things I meant to do when I returned to Scotland four years ago was to look up an old Scottish friend that I'd last seen some twenty years ago in London. In truth I had a whole hatful of ambitions and intentions on my list, and rather to my own surprise and to the utter amazement of my wife and daughter, I've gradually managed to tick them off over the last few years. Alright, I know you can't wait to find out what was on this list, so I'll just run through some of them briefly. First of all, since I was no longer a full-time musician, having developed the guitarists version of tennis elbow, I needed something else to fill my time, and the only other thing I was good at (apart   (read full article)

Article Title :: Can You Hear Me, Superman?

I read somewhere that you can tell a lot about a person by finding out who her heroes are. I suppose that's fairly obvious. Take Homer Simpson. It comes as no surprise to find out that his hero is Superman, ("If you are up there and can hear me, I just want to say thank you for listening, Superman"). It occurs to me that it ought to be possible to extend this idea to national heroes. This is probably a tired old idea, used in seminars up and down the country, but most of the things I know, I learnt after leaving school, so as far as I'm concerned this is new and original. Anyone got a problem with that? Alright, let's try it out. I'll just stick to countries that I feel linked to, either   (read full article)

Article Title :: Solar Power is Nothing New to the Incan Empire of Sun Worshippers

In the United States of America many people are totally excited about solar power especially considering the new technology advances due to presidential initiatives in alternative energies. The price of solar cells has come down drastically over the last decade by as much as 50 percent. In the last few years solar power has become 65 percent more efficient and that means the return on investment for installing solar cells makes more sense than ever before. But as we watch our technological exploits in the present period one has to wonder if the idea of getting your power from the sun is something new?Surely it is not, as all life on our little Planet is made possible in part   (read full article)

Article Title :: Terrorism Starts at the Breakfast Table

It has often been said that International Terrorism starts at home and at the breakfast table and it is really true. You see if the parents have hate, then they teach hate to their offspring and if they discuss this at the breakfast table, well there you have it. It is rather hard to educate children not to hate when the parents are teaching it.If an entire community, country or religion is teaching hate then it should be no wonder so many young people attempt to join international terrorist groups. When International Terrorist Organizations pay families when their kids become suicide bombers you can see the problem and why it is so hard to stop. Many academics have said we n  (read full article)

Article Title :: A Tale of Genealogy, Fraud and Poverty

What makes us the sort of people we are? It is certainly not only our environment or our upbringing but it’s the attitudes and traits that are passed on to us from generation to generation and it’s by understanding our genealogy and family History that we come to understand ourselves. So how do we go about doing this? The first step is to find our own birth certificate and from this we will find out where we were born, who our parents were and when they were married and so on. From our parents marriage certificate we can trace our grand-parents and again from their marriage certificate this will give where they lived, how old they were on marriage, what trade they followed and s  (read full article)

Article Title :: Abandoned Class of Citizens

In the United States of America we all know that there is a serious problem with illegal immigration and that there are over 16 million illegal aliens in our country. Additionally most of us know that these workers are being exploited by greedy businessman, which are breaking the law by hiring the people who have snuck into our country illegally. No matter how you cut it is a terrible situation and some blame the very low unemployment rate of only 4.9 percent but in reality there can be know what to blame except those who break the law. Now then, consider if you will a worst-case scenario. We allow the legal aliens come in droves and do nothing about it now and then in ten or  (read full article)
