| Article Title :: Survival Without Computers |
| |
| I was slowed down when my computer crashed and I had no data, no address book and not even my passwords to get back online. I didnÂ’t think I was doing anything remarkable by bouncing back to productivity even with this handicap for a week. But from the feedback IÂ’ve had from more than a few people, it seems paralysis would have been the acceptable common option.
Yes, I got slowed down, but nothing critical was lost and no appointments missed. Why? Internal reserves, resources and drive. How do you survive in business today without your computer (or maybe itÂ’s when your cell phone drops in the lake or your Ipod gets lost)?
There were three parts to my p (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Business Growth Requires Individual Effectiveness |
| |
| When we read about business growth in the top business periodicals, they always refer to the multi-national corporations. IÂ’m not a large corporation. IÂ’m not even incorporated.
But for the purpose of this discussion, think of your business as a corporation. You hold the office of president of this corporation, and you're responsible for its success or failure. You and the members of your team are stockholders in your corporation, and it's your responsibility to see that the value of the stock increases in the years ahead.
If your company is growing, it will have a tendency to continue to grow because you're doing things right. Conversely, a company that i (read full article) |

| Article Title :: A Time To Focus And A Time To Diversify |
| |
| IÂ’m the Queen of the Focus message in the Work at Home Mom Community. I believe itÂ’s important to have a tight focus when youÂ’re developing or growing a home business that will pass the test of time and bring in a reliable income.
This is especially true when it comes to a Direct Sales business. If youÂ’ve opted to join a Direct Sales company such as Mary Kay, Pampered Chef or Lia Sophia you will experience the highest level of success if you keep all of your business attentions on that one company.
There is a temptation for some Direct Sellers to branch off into a ‘complimentary’ business. They may think that a gourmet food company would be (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Bellsouth Secrets Revealed |
| |
| Formed after the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) was forced to break up its regional companies, Bellsouth is based in Atlanta. Strangely enough, it is also the only one of those companies left that uses an actual bell symbol in its company logo. Bellsouth is a combination of Southern Bell and South Central Bell and provides services to 9 southern states in the eastern United States
In the 1990Â’s, when mergers were the name of the game, this company took a pass. Still serving the same states they did when they were first peeled out from under the AT& T umbrella, they have gone from the largest of the bells to one of the smallest. In 2004, in fact, their reven (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Are You Missing Your Best Quality Improvement Ideas? |
| |
| November 2005. Winter is just around the corner here in Western Michigan. The leaves are literally raining off the trees. Just this morning at breakfast as I looked into the woods and I could see a steady stream of golden brown, red and yellow leaves heading towards the earth.
Last month I talked about keeping your quality improvement changes in place—using a manual that you develop of SOP’s, standard operating procedures. By the way, if you missed that issue, you can find it on my website, and several earlier ones too.
This month I want to address starting a quality improvement project. That is, how do you decide what project to work on? What issue or proce (read full article) |

| Article Title :: How To Make Changes In Your Healthcare Organization |
| |
| For many of us change is a difficult process. In organizations like healthcare it seems to advance at a snailÂ’s pace sometimes. There is a need for change in healthcare, most agree, though we would be hard pressed to agree upon the changes needed. One incentive for change is pay-for-performance programs now beginning in several areas. I would like to describe a couple that affect primary care physicians and then give a few suggestions as to how to adopt changes to take advantage of these programs. Even if you are not in a primary care physician program, the methods suggested for change will be helpful, I believe.
In 2006 Medicare plans to institute a pay-for-performance pro (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Standardize Your Process To Improve The Bottom Line |
| |
| Standardize your processes! You can save time, money and prevent errors. Things you do over and over should be done the same way every time, if indeed you do the task the best way. They say variety is the spice of life, but for healthcare processes it certainly isnÂ’t most of the time. Consider this, if you would. Would you buy your favorite brand of soda if sometimes your 12 ounce can were 3/4 of the way full and sometimes almost overflowing. Certainly not. You expect there to consistently be nearly 12 ounces every time. How would a patient behave if the results of a healthcare visit varied wildly? The patient would probably find a new provider. The best healthcare providers deliver a co (read full article) |

| There are great benefits to owning a franchise. You often can sell goods and services that have instant name recognition and can obtain training and ongoing support to help you succeed.
But be cautious before you sign on the dotted line.
1. Know How Much You Can Invest - A franchisor may tell you how much you can afford to invest or that you can't afford to pass up this opportunity. Before beginning to explore investment options, consider the amount you feel comfortable investing and the maximum amount you can afford.

| Article Title :: Ways To Improve Your Selling |
| |
| It has long been known that until something is sold, nothing else happens. The selling profession is therefore one of the most challenging and most profitable career paths one can choose. And for those with an innate ability to sell, it can be gratifying and profitable from day one. Others, who may want the income and freedom that comes from sales but who are not as naturally gifted, will benefit from a few specific tips on their way to improving sales.
First, acknowledge what type of sales you're best at. Door to door business to consumer, telemarketing, corporate business to business, and online are all different ways of selling. And while most salespeople must focus intensel (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Improving Your Social And Business Networking |
| |
| Social networking is not a new phenomenon - people have been meeting together for centuries as a way of expanding their friendships, increasing their sense of community, and establishing new business relationships. And even in the last half century neighborhood or city-based networking organizations have arisen such as the Lions, Kiwanis, and Elks clubs along with those dedicated to pure networking like Business Networking International and LeTip. But it wasn't until a website called sixdegrees was created a few years ago that online networking started to take off - sure chat rooms and listservs had existed in the pre-1995 days but there were never resources online dedicated exclusively to n (read full article) |
