| Article Title :: Support is more important |
| |
|
Customer Support plays a very important rolein expanding
business. I'm not going into the details of "Pre-Sales
Support" or "Post-Sales Support". Customer support is
something based on which a business can move forward. Its not
the product or services we sell to the customer but the support
that we actually sell.
With an example I'm trying to explain this. A customer purchased
an Electronic shaver from my online shopping mall. He was quiet
happy with the product. The product was a normal product and was
indeed good. Though there was no problem with the product, the
customer used to receive calls from us once in a week. The call
was just to ask how are things going wit (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Data Storage - Managing Massive Amounts of Data |
| |
|
Perhaps it is karma, but the more successful you become, the
more data you will have to deal with. Effectively managing
massive amounts of data often comes down to the issue of data
storage.
Data Overload
Mass data means large volumes of data or bulk data. Both in a
standalone PC as well as in a network environment, we generally
face the problem of managing data. The data grows day-by-day
thereby creating problems of data handling. No doubt there are
various techniques and devices that are capable of storing large
amount of data like hard drives, optical disks, tapes etc. Hard
drives are now available in almost all new computers. Data on a
hard drive is stored on it through magnetic mate (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Driving Corporate Performance with Employee Benefits |
| |
|
In today's economy, companies of all sizes are facing a number
of challenges that require urgent action. Health care costs are
rising, pension obligations are growing and top talent is
becoming increasingly difficult to recruit in the rebounding job
market. Among the most significant business trends, competitive
pressure on American workers is increasing at a rapid pace as
offshore business process outsourcing (BPO) becomes more
effective in performing traditional American jobs at much lower
costs. The fundamental challenge for human resources managers is
to re-invent employee benefit programs to deliver higher
performance at a lower cost.

| Article Title :: Is Internal Competition Good? |
| |
|
It happens. Colleagues compete for rewards, attention, or kudos.
Sometimes it's OK, other times it's not. Watch for these nuggets
and see which side of the ledger your team is on:
When competition is good -
* Raises the level of play across an entire team * Can build
teamwork when team members help each other be successful
* Can be effective when rewards are given out fairly
When competition isn't so good -
* Can be divisive when a manager uses competition as a means of
humiliating other team members
* Can be unhealthy when rewards for outstanding performance are
too scarce - there are too few rewards for too many people
* Can be counter-productive when team members view com (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Your Leadership Style |
| |
|
If you want to succeed as a leader, you need to be comfortable
with moving around the spectrum of leadership styles. Sticking
with just one style means that you become predictable and hence,
as a leader, dispensable. It also means that your style of
leading may not fit the needs of the team or task. So, learn
what the 4 leadership styles are and develop yourself to become
skilled in each of them.
1. The Directive Style. The directive leadership style is
the style most people equate with "strong" leadership. When
people say they want more leadership, they usually mean they
want more direction. In military terms, this is leading from the
front or by example. Although the directive, -- (read full article) |

America |
| |
|
Nothing has embarrassed and worried corporate America in recent
years the way anonymous employee blogging has. In fact if
executives have nightmares and wake up in the middle of the
night in panic and sweating, then that nightmare is bound to be
about employees blogging some devastating corporate secrets.
These anonymous tell-all blogs always manage to pick up huge
audiences within a very short time. In recent times, internal
tensions within well known companies have quickly become public
knowledge. A few of these companies have made things worse by
firing these bloggers when they have been discovered, only for
them to become celebrities and to quickly land plum jobs
elsewhere, leaving the (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Problem-Solving Success Tip: Use Your Time for Problems that are
Truly Important |
| |
|
Use your time for problems that are truly important.
Hard as it may be to walk away once you're aware of it, just
because a problem is there doesn't mean you have to solve it.
Ask yourself and your colleagues, "What will happen if we don't
solve this problem?" If the answer is, "not much," then turn
your attention to something more important. If you don't know
what will happen, find out before you undertake a
problem-solving project. It should be clear to you and everyone
else involved that the problem is worth the effort--and
expense--to fix it.
Quantify the cost of the problem quickly, but as realistically
as you can. Include lost opportunity costs as well as real
expenses such (read full article) |

There is no doubt that Toyota is one of the most successful
manufacturing companies in the world. In fact lean manufacturing
is derived from the management and manufacturing practices of
the Toyota Corporation.
The manufacturing techniques and way of thinking at Toyota have
been well documented. In essence the focus at this carmaker is
the absolute elimination of waste. The result is a constant
improvement in the flow of material from raw material to

| Article Title :: Organizational Political Savvy |
| |
|
It is a fact of organizational life: politics influence
virtually everything that happens in an organization. Leaders,
especially change leaders, must develop political savvy. I am
not advocating unethical behavior, but I am recommending that
leaders consciously fine tune their political awareness.
In organizations, individuals and groups are continually vying
for scarce resources. Each one is attempting to maintain or
enhance its self interests. Many leaders and consultants
underestimate these powerful forces.
Any attempt to implement organizational change will invariably
threaten one of these individuals or groups. Organizational
change is frequently accompanied by conflicting interests (read full article) |
