Management is both art and science. It is the art of making
people more effective than they would have been without you. The
science is in how you do that. There are four basic pillars:
plan, organize, direct, and monitor.
Managers may direct workers directly or they may direct several
supervisors who direct the workers. The manager must be familiar
with the work of all the groups he/she supervises, but does not
need to be the best in any or all of the areas. It is more
important for the manager to know how to manage the workers than
to know how to do their work well.
A manager may have the power to hire or fire employees or to
promote them. In larger companies, a manager may only recomm (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Control Your Fear Before It Controls You |
| |
|
"Fear Factor" is one of my favorite TV shows. It highlights the
courage of the participants to engage in the most fearsome and
disgusting acts.
Most of the contestants are willing to sacrifice their dignity
for the sake of the prize money. So what does that imply? It
implies that with the proper mindset, determination, and will
power, you can conquer your fear.
Everyone has some sort of fear. It may be brought about by any
one or more of the following reasons.
1) by a traumatic past incident (like being bitten by a dog) 2)
by the influence of other people 3) by their own negative way of
thinking
But are you going to let fear take over your life? Will you
remain a hostage of your fear f (read full article) |

Short-term memory lapses are a fact of life as we grow older.
Would you believe memory loss begins increasing at age 25? For
every fact of life there's a management solution!
Do you find yourself forgetting such little things as unplugging
the iron, leaving groceries or animals in the car, missing
important meetings, turning off lights and appliances and all
the other mundane activities? Too mundane to worry about?. They
are annoying enough to erode confidence in yourself. Worse, they
cause others to lose confidence in you. Some lapses could cause
your house to burn down.
Manage to place reminders in doorways or with unusual placement
in passageways. Identify the trouble spots for these (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Work Life Balance - Getting It Right! |
| |
|
I have previously covered the importance of business strategy,
and achieving work life balance is an important factor in
developing an ability to think and plan strategically.
In recent years working practices and hours have become more
flexible and it has become normal practice for employers to
grant maternity and paternity leave. This has enabled many
workers find a better balance between their work and personal
lives.
However, owner managers face a more taxing situation. Many think
they have no option other than to work whatever hours are
required and, as the owners of their businesses this can bring
extreme pressures; making the work life balance even more
important.

| Article Title :: Auto Loan Options for People with Bad Credit |
| |
|
Internet surfers with bad credit looking for an auto loan are
bombarded with advertisements most days. Many of these ads are
truthful in their bad credit auto loan options. However, there
are many things to avoid, and this article will describe some of
those.
Directly financed auto loans for people with good credit are a
bit different than those with bad credit. People with bad credit
are expected to pay more of a down payment as well as a higher
interest rate on their auto loans. Many creditors won’t even
extend an auto loan to those with bad credit. Depending on how
bad someone’s credit is, auto loans can range from a 20 – 50%
down payment requirement, interest rates from 5-26%, an (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Setting Goals and Implementing Change |
| |
|
One of the most important aspects of management is implementing
change and setting goals. Managers must decide what their goals
are and how they are going to achieve them. This is a basic part
of strategic planning. Setting small goals is a small part of
the bigger picture in making your business or organization
successful. Managers must decide what goals they believe will be
most effective in improving their business and then decide how
they are going to go about reaching those goals. Whatever the
goal is you must be committed to it in order for it to succeed.
Commitment to a goal and making decisions are not easily done.
Many managers hesitate for various reasons when it comes to

| Article Title :: Passion Equals Profits |

Many people often ask me why I do what I do. That is, why do I
spend so much time during my waking hours working on my internet
business?
To be honest, I sometimes ask myself that same question.
So, I decided to sit down and figure out why I am prepared to
give up days upon days of my time when others are out enjoying
the weather or relaxing over a cup of coffee. And the only
answer I could come up with was this – I love what I do.
As simplistic as it sounds, this is the source of my energy and
enthusiasm, despite many frustrating tasks and instances that I
find myself dealing with. I realized that I am one of the lucky
ones – able to combine work and pleasure.
You see, for me, my i (read full article) |

| Article Title :: How To Accelerate The Return On Investment (ROI) Of Your Senior
Talent |
| |
|
If you were given £100,000, how would you feel?
If that £100,000 was then withdrawn and you were asked for
another £150,000 how would you feel?
You might question whether you had made the right decision to
take the £100,000 in the first place. You might also feel
annoyed, frustrated and bewildered to have to pay 2 ½ times that
amount for the privilege.
Well believe it or not, every time a newly appointed senior
executive with a £100,000 salary doesn’t succeed, your overall
cost is £250,000. Can you afford that sort of ROI on your
valuable assets?
People are what make any organisation successful, ignore them
and fail to invest in them and you wave goodbye to any ROI.

Work life balance is the new Holy Grail; that search for
nirvana; the need to find peace and contentment, the desire to
achieve that fine sense of equilibrium that we can be happy with.
For some people that means not working at all but, for many it
means being happy with the amount of hours they spend at and
think about work and are equally happy about their none working
hours; whether that be time spent with family and friends or
time spent participating in sports, music or other hobbies or
indeed just relaxing doing nothing in particular except just
being!
However, the achievement of this perfect balance seems to escape
so many people and I believe that’s because the important things

| Article Title :: Time Management: Is Your To Do List The Problem? |
| |
|
You start each week with great intentions. You are determined
to get a grip of your workload. You are determined to write a to
do list, you even promise yourself that you will stick to it and
use it and reprioritise each day so that you finish what you
want to every day.
But yet again by Wednesday afternoon life, stuff and your habits
have made your Monday morning intentions seem a distant memory
and you are back in fire fighting mode with a longer to do list
and feeling even more overwhelmed by what you have to do.
Well have you ever stopped to think that it is your to do list
that is the problem? vPerhaps you are not a to do list person?
vPerhaps your to do list has the wrong things on (read full article) |
