| Article Title :: Is Busyness Affecting Your Business? |
| |
|
I’m too busy; I’d love to but I’m very busy; I’ll get round to
that when I’m not so busy.
How often have you said any of those phrases? How many times a
week do you hear someone else say those phrases? They’re very
common and busyness seems to have become a way of life for many
people.
I’ve just finished writing my first ebook called Take Control of
Your Time: 7 Straight Shooter Strategies for Success, and when I
was doing some research two of the most common problems people
said they faced were too many priorities and too busy to plan
and take time for themselves.
So why is that? What is it about being busy that seems to
dominate our lives? We moan about it and spend time (read full article) |

| Article Title :: I'm Too Busy - Oh Really! |
| |
|
If I had a dollar or even better a pound for every time I’d
heard a business leader say this I’d be very rich.
I’m too busy is used in so many contexts * I’m too busy – I
don’t want to * I’m too busy – I’m overwhelmed * I’m too busy –
Go Away * I’m too busy – I’m confused * I’m too busy – And
you’re not!
If we break that sentence down and look at each part, we can
then look at ways of helping you be less busy. I’M too busy –
with the emphasis on the I, the inference is that the centre of
the busyness is you. The implication is that you need to be
because you are the only person that can do all of the work that
is causing you to feel busy.

| Article Title :: How Much Is Poor Time Management Costing You? |
| |
|
* If you were paying you to prioritise emails over coaching your
team, would you feel you were getting a good return on your
investment? * If you were paying you to waste time on trivia
rather than planning your next quarters sales plan – would you
think you were getting good value for money? * If you were
paying you to sit in numerous unproductive meetings would you
feel that was a worthwhile contribution?
I suspect that the answer to those questions is no and yet, in
effect, that’s exactly what you are doing. By choosing to adopt
poor time management habits and poorly prioritise what’s
important you are in effect creating a poor return on investment
for your self your organisation (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Have You Got a Minute? |
| |
|
Such an innocuous little phrase, yet when you are hard at work,
really focused and engrossed in what you are doing this
seemingly harmless request can be a nightmare distraction.
“The average American has 50 interruptions a day, of which 70%
have nothing to do with work” W. Edwards Deming
Interruptions are on of the main time stealers that get in the
way of productivity. Whether it is phone, email or person
generated, have you got a minute? can really break your
concentration, affect your mood and make you feel irritated and
frustrated.
Have you got a minute can so easily turn into 5, 15 or even 30
minutes and suddenly your day is behind schedule but, remember
you let it happen. Howe (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Can A Business Still Be Profitable When People Skills Are
Absent? |
| |
|
In our current world of rapid and amazing technological
advances, many entrepreneurs have managed to dramatically limit
the need for staff in highly profitable operations of all kinds.
It is therefore tempting and believable to imagine that with
every passing day, the need for people skills is diminishing. In
fact most entrepreneurs are convinced that one no longer
requires people skills to run a highly profitable enterprise.
After all technology can do it all for you.
This is both an unfortunate and inaccurate view that can cause a
great deal of trouble.
While it is true that technology has resulted in much leaner
staffed enterprises, the truth of the matter is that businesses
still ne (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Earn More by Learning More |
| |
|
Keep an Open Mind
We live in a diverse and fast pace world. Businesses hire from
all walks of life to create an eccentric and hopefully a better
business. There is nothing wrong with this idea, but the real
problem happens when two people just focus on their differences.
Not everyone is just like you, and it is almost pointless to try
to find and hire these people. You don’t want clones of yourself
for how will you ever gain new ideas or perspectives? Different
ideas can help you, but you have to figure out how.
There are books and courses that are dedicate to this concept.
So read them and learn how. All I am asking from you is to open
your mind to your workers’ point of view and (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Stop Your Employee From Becoming Your Competitor |
| |
|
You know the routine. You've hired an eager individual willing
to come onboard and learn the business. You've taught them,
trained them, worked hand in hand and side by side for 2 solid
years. Then all of a sudden your employee quits for no apparent
reason.
To your disbelief and utter amazement, you realize that you have
just wasted the last 2 years of your life. A week or so goes by
and you learn that your former employee has started a similar
business and there's nothing you can do to stop them. Or is
there?
The questions start racing through your mind at light speed.
"Why did they just up and quit without notice?" "I thought they
liked working here?" "How come I didn't see this coming (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Outsourced Learning: Are You Ready for Learning BPO? |
| |
|
As the business world enters a period of hyper-competitiveness,
every business process will be subjected to examination and
possible restructuring. We have already seen outsourcing and
offshoring used to an extent that nobody would have dreamed of a
few years ago. McDonald’s is testing the offshoring of its
drive-thru process to India. How about, “Do you want fries with
that?” with a New Delhi accent?
Even though McDonald’s testing of business process outsourcing
(BPO) has caused quite a stir, it’s only the beginning. What
started as the outsourcing of a few basic business processes,
such as payroll or accounts receivable, has grown into a
“movement.” No internally performed (read full article) |

"How you think determines how you act. How you act, in turn,
determines how others react to you."
- David J. Schwartz – The Magic of Thinking Big
"…no matter what we’re doing on the outside, people respond
primarily to how we’re feeling about them on the inside."
- The Arbinger Institute – Leadership and Self-Deception
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Becoming a great leader requires people to behave in rather
unnatural ways. Most people will focus on their personal needs
ahead of the needs of others. One of the paradoxes of leadership
states that we get our personal needs met by first considering
the interests of the people w (read full article) |
