| Article Title :: Wasabi Peas Have a 1000 Year Shelf-Life |
| |
| Desiring a quick snack after work the other day, I grabbed a bag of Wasabi Peas and popped a handful into my mouth anticipating the little blast of Wah that comes with them. As I reached for the second handful, I happened to notice the expiration date on the bag. It read, “Best by, 093006.” My mind immediately interpreted those numbers to mean, the month September in the year 3006! And I thought, really I did, “Wow, that’s a shelf life of over 1000 years!”It only took about 3-seconds for me to recognize the impossibility of that perception. But for those three seconds, my reality reflected the belief that wasabi peas – or at least this bag of them – could last for 100 (read full article) |

| Article Title :: The Single Piece Of Trash Theory |
| |
| I met a guy in business who had the good sense to feature my articles at his web site, benefiting both of us.And, as is the case so often, he had one insight into life as we know it that was spectacular.Most people do, and if you’re lucky, or just a great conversationalist, you can tease out this unusually original insight.Before disclosing his, let me recite another one for you that came from a client of mine in the Pacific Northwest. He said, “Gary, life is too short to deal with unpleasant people.”Anyway, the other guy, the one I intended to quote had a great notion, and here it is.Calling it his “Single Piece Of Trash Theory,” he said if yo (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Self-Improvement: Coax your Dreams into Reality with a Single Spark of Core Desire |
| |
| Ever since we are a little kid in school and witnessed the world outside of our homes, our little minds are already working up plans. Indeed, even small children are capable of thinking up plans for their life. In their own childish worlds, they already have a burning desire to do something.They may not yet fully grasp every plan and dream they wish to attain. Still, it boosts their self-image. Their self-esteem may also be elevated much with these dreams, giving them the courage to confront a school bully.As the years go by, children become adolescents and then, adults. Every stage of their life is, like a little child, still full of plans and dreams. Others may have fulfil (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Radical Minds and Critical Thinkers |
| |
| Several months ago during a casual conversation, I was described by someone as being a radical.When he first said it I didn’t know whether I should laugh or be offended. It never quite dawned on me until then that my standing up against spiritual homophobia, writing a gay spiritual book and producing and hosting a national black gay TV talk show would qualify me for radical status, but apparently in the minds of some it has.Prior to this particular conversation, my mental concept of radicalism or the word radical represented outdated images of white women burning their bras in protest of anything male dominated or people chaining themselves to century old oak trees. | Article Title :: No-Thingnesss |
| |
| From Silence . . . Sound
From Stillness . . . Flow
From Emptiness . . . FormOK. Time for a pop quiz: If it were possible to remove all the "empty space" from your body, the actual physical matter that remained would fit:
A. Inside a bread box.
B. In a wine glass.
C. On the head of a pin.
D. Inside an amoeba.Here's a hint. Think small. Really small. No, even smaller than that. Think down to the subatomic structure of your body: Protons and Neutrons, Quarks and Gluons. When you get down to that level of matter, the relative space between the actual, physical "stuff" is so vast that if it were possible to somehow remove it all, what remains wo (read full article) |

| Article Title :: You Only Have To Ask |
| |
| "He who asks a question may be a fool for five minutes, but he who never asks a question remains a fool forever."Tom J. ConnellyWhile killing time at my younger children’s swimming lesson, I usually sit and do some reading and note-taking for whatever topic I am concentrating on in my Coaching. I am one of the few parents who don’t sit pool-side, as I have found if I do this I get too hot, but also the children concentrate more on me than their lesson! So I sit out on some very hard, uncomfortable benches and enjoy the opportunity to read. Occasionally I chat to other people, but mostly I read and write….and have become an object of curiosity, as I found (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Does Truth Exist? |
| |
| I have a problem with truth, and it is that I am not sure that it exists.
We refer to it all the time, extol it as a virtue, imagining it perhaps as a path we can follow, one of moral exactitude that will lead us to sainthood. But do any of us really tread this path? Think for a moment of all those occasions when we stray from the truth.We stray when we exaggerate, when we make excuses, when we offer an insincere compliment or remain silent when we ought to really speak out. We stray when we misinform children about Father Christmas, or even when we pretend to be well and happy when we are not. All these – and there are many more – are examples of us departing from what we (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Motivation - The Defining Moment Of Self-Improvement |
| |
| For any aspect of self-improvement, there has to be a reason for you to start and keep going. That is your motivation - the reason for doing what you do. In order to attempt any sort of improvement in your life, you need to be motivated in some way to get started. Strategies for self-improvement start with defining what it is you want to achieve and then charting a course through which you can effect the improvements or changes. These do not have to be drastic changes - they could be something as simple as making time for yourself to write in a journal each day or something to improve your health, such as quitting smoking.
Motivation comes from within. It is something that you w (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Motivation - The Driving Force In All Of Us |
| |
| What is it that makes you get out of bed in the morning, stumble to the shower and get dressed for work? The answer is motivation. This is what keeps us going through life, coping with all the daily stresses, pain and suffering. We are constantly motivated to make our lives better by doing whatever we can to make improvements.
That's fine for adults, but what motivates children, you might ask. Just think back to the days when you were in elementary school. What was it that made you go to school each day, besides your parents waking you up and making you go? The motivation of meeting your friends and socializing was one of the reasons. The other is that even then you knew that yo (read full article) |
