Article Title :: Camping on a Motorcycle

Camping on a motorcycle can present a real challenge, because you can't carry much weight or volume, and there are few places to store your equipment on a motor bike. Most motor cycle riders use bags or panniers at the back of their machines to hold the camping gear. These have to be tough and waterproof - a bit like their owners - to keep the camping equipment safe from the weather. And you don't want anything coming loose and flying off either. It might cause an accident and you could be held liable for damages - or worse. With a truck or an automobile, you can put your camping gear on the inside. But with a motorcycle, it's got to be fitted pretty much on the outside (read full article)

Article Title :: DYNO SHEET 101: Tips on How to Read a Dyno Sheet

| One of the best tools available when doing a performance upgrade is a Dyno run. It is usually best to do a run before a modification. This will allow you to actually gauge the effect on your machine when the modification is done. When you get a run done you will be given a sheet that shows 3 items:Torque curve
Horse power curve
Air fuel ratio. Most people look at only 2 things when the get a dyno sheet. The numbers at the top of the readout tell the peak HP, and the peak torque. Unfortunately that is only a little piece of the story. I will be using a sheet from my bike that shows 2 runs, and also exhibits a couple of minor problems.First the most often ignor (read full article) |

Article Title :: History of Pocket Bikes

With the sudden influx of pocket bikes, many Americans may believe that this is a new sport. But small, motorized bikes have been around since the 50’s. They appeared soon after mechanized racing karts became common. There were goofy contests such as “jousting.” Two riders would ride at each other while holding rolled up newspapers and try to pop a balloon tied to their opponent’s helmet. After the 60’s, the mini bikes became relatively rare in the states.During the 70’s, pocket bike racing became a serious sport in Japan. They used inexpensive and low-tech bikes for racing. In the 80’s the Italians took the sport up a notch and began racing better quality, high-tech (read full article)

Article Title :: Lloydz Victory Fuel Control Module Installation

VFC Installation on a Victory Kingpin MotorcycleFor this How-To article I am using pics of my install of the VFC with highlighted areas of some components that should make it easier to follow.First start by removing the seat and then the fuel tank bolts and lift the tank enough to disconnect the fuel tank wiring connector. At this point rather than diconnecting the fuel line at the tank or emptying the tank(I had a couple of gallons in there) I opted to disconnect at the splitter block underneath and inserted a bolt of the appropiate size and retightened the hose clamp. Now with the available slack provided by the overflow vent tube I was able to lay the tank on (read full article)

Article Title :: To the Catskills & Back on a 2004 Victory Kingpin

How easy is it to ride 400 miles in 7 hours? Piece of cake on my Victory Kingpin. Heading out from the Maryland Base camp, I was greeted with 90 plus degree temperatures. It was Mississippi hot and humid too. I decided to remove the lower wind deflectors and my soft leather lowers I had on my highway bars. Now I would get some direct air flow. Albeit it felt like I was in a dryer. I contemplated removing the main windscreen, but decided that for such a long ride, I would benefit by keeping it in place.First things first, I checked the tire pressure, checked my oil. The Victory Kingpin is oil cooled so no worries about overheating. The thing that I was most worried about overheating (read full article)

| What is the method behind the sizing of motorcycle tires? Why do certain motorcycles have certain tire sizes? Do the fatter tires you see on most bikes make the motorcycle handle better? | Article Title :: Motorcycle Riders Need to Wear Protective Leather Clothing Like Leather Jackets and Leather Chaps |

| Why should motorcycle riders wear protective leather clothing? Because the high quality leather jackets and leather chaps can save your life as well as keep you warm and looking good.I want to hit on the key aspects of why you are buying your leathers. Protection, Warmth, and Looks.A lot of our customer’s main concern is safety. How safe are our jackets? Well, safety is one of those things that is hard to measure. (Like glove warmth, it really depends on how cold natured you are as to how warm you will feel.) I would suggest trying to determine how safe you feel you need to be vs. the leather thickness.
