| Article Title :: Guitar Lessons - Guitar Vibrato |
| |
|
Playing a guitar without vibrato is like eating Mexican food
without salsa. Vibrato is one of the most definitive techniques
in defining your musical style, your own personal unique sound.
No two players have the same vibrato sound. Some play slow and
wide while others play narrow and fast, and that's the beauty
behind spending a lot of time learning different vibrato
techniques. It's like eating different salsa's every time you go
to your favorite taco stand. Enough talk about food, lets talk
technique.
Vibrato is sometimes confused with tremolo. Basically it is just
a technique of vibrating the string sharp and flat around a root
note. For example if you are playing the 7th fret on the 3 (read full article) |

| Article Title :: How To Manually Tune a Guitar |
| |
|
Need to Learn How to manually TUNE A GUITAR? No problem! It's
something ALL Guitar Players need to know.
Let's say you have already tuned the top string (6th string).
Step 1:Press down on the 6th string at the 5th fret and you will
get an A note. This note should correspond to an open 5th string
as shown in the diagram.
Step 2:Strike the 6th string, 5th fret and an open 5th string.
Both strings should be exactly the same. If not, the 5th string
must be adjusted.
A good tip is to hold your finger on the fret and use your other
hand to twist the string. Both at the same time. Do this until
both strings sound identical.
These 2 easy steps can be repeated for the rest of the strings.

| Article Title :: 80's Redux |
| |
|
Here's a great playlist of tracks from the 80's that were either
redone/remade or original tracks remixed. All of the tracks on
here are very recognizable.
The playlist starts with Hyper doing an awesome version of Adam
& The Ant's classic, early 80's tune Ant Music. It'a a very
upbeat and energetic version, perfect to set things up for a
80's themed party.
I then head off to Laidback's White Horse remixed by Funkstar De
Luxe, This track keeps keeps to the original sound but it's
perfectly remixed and given the extra "oomph" by Funkstar De
Luxe. Funkstar De Luxe did an awesome remix back in 2000 of Bob
Marley's Sun Is Shining and it was part of a remix CD he put out
called Keep On Movin. (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Finally A Full Length Release From Butti 49 |
| |
|
After the release of the excellent single Kalas and countless
remixes for such artists as Nuspirit Helsinki, Ennio Morrricone
and Viver, Snorre Seim and Oyvind Jakobsen of Butti 49 from
Norway, finally release a full length album filled with
complementing genres such as funky soul, jazz, broken beat and
electronica with an excellent end result.
This album is a treat to listen to from start to finish with Emo
providing the vocals to Flying the first track on the album as
well as Action. His voice reminds me a bit of the vocalist from
Zero 7 but the sound of the music is definitely more upbeat.
Incurable featuring the vocals of Mayia James has the feel good
vibe of a laidback, jazzy, summer, (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Bodyrockers - Rocking and Dancing! |
| |
|
I have to admit I like this album by Bodyrockers. It takes me
back to when I was in my teens. I was into heavy metal/hard rock
as well as your typical pop radio music. The singers voice is
very much like the voices from countless heavy metal/hard rock
vocalists from the 80's. I definitely like the combination of
the guitars and the electronic beats. Much better done than
Scissor Sisters did with their album. I don't know what the big
deal with that album was anyway this album actually Rocks! The
unfortunate thing is this album has not received much hype.
What's up?
The big track on here is I Like The Way (You Move). It starts
with the big drum beats and the track comes into full force with (read full article) |

Guitar Strings - How do you know when it's time to change
your Guitar Strings?
Well there are many signs. First simply look at them. Do you
have all 6 strings? Are they rusty or discolored assuming they
are steel strings. If the answer to these questions is no then
guess what? You need new Guitar Strings!
If that doesn't help you the next step would be to PLAY your
guitar. How do the strings feel? Do they feel rough? Have they
lost a bit of their elasticity? Have more of wire feeling than a
guitar string? Then you need new guitar strings!
Most importantly how does your guitar sound? As strings get
older they get corroded from exposure to the elements and from
dirt and oils from y (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Guitar: What Is The Ultimate Way To Practice On Your Guitar? |
| |
|
What is the ultimate truth about guitar practicing?
Is there a best way to practice on your guitar? Of course you
have to make your practice sessions effective but could there be
a way to practice that is more effective than other ways? There
are many principles involved in an effective practice session
and I think some of these are a motivation founded on a love and
passion for the music you can produce on the guitar, an
acceptance of the fact that you must practice on that technical
level you have reached, a working knowledge of muscle tensions
and how to minimize them when you play and how to work on
reducing them when you don't play.
What shall we do until we find the (read full article) |
