Article Title :: Help Piano Students in the Bad Mood Feel Better

The students could be in the bad mood while taking lessons. Force them to play will not make them playing well even the kids often persist in not wanting to play. Let them just sit with no activity is also not the good solution. As teachers, what should we do so that the lessons can still be valued? As my experienced, the following tips will help students in the bad mood feel better and improve their music knowledge. 1. Being Storytellers a. Tell a short biography of composer and show his/her pictures since was child. b. Tell a story behind the music. For instance, Fur Ellise was composed by Ludwig van Beethoven and the original title was Bagatelle for piano in A minor. It was  (read full article)

Article Title :: Effective Rehearsal In A Rock Band

If your band is in rehearsals, either preparing for gigging, or practising new songs to add to your repertoire, the chances are you will have to hire a rehearsal room. The costs of hiring a room can soon mount up if you don't organise your time effectively. You could be wasting time and money going around in circles, with a growing frustration that your band doesn't seem to be making any progress. The answer is to set a Schedule for your rehearsals. Without a schedule it's difficult to monitor progress if in fact any is made.  Article Title :: Ready-or-not their back!!!

1994 started the beginning of a musical revolution called the Fugees. The Fugees contained the lyrical strength of Prakazrel Michel (Pras), the musical genius of Wyclef Jean (Clef) and harmonious voice of Lauren Hill. Although the group had dropped "Blunted on Reality" in 1994, that was only the tip of the iceberg for the group; it was not until 1996 when the group released the fury which was "The Score" upon the world, they became critically acclaimed. "The Score" reached the top of billboards chart during the same year with the help of such singles as: 'Ready or Not', 'Killing me Softly', 'Fugee-la' and an amazing cover of Bob Marley's 'No Woman Don't Cry', just to name a few. But 'what g  (read full article)

Article Title :: 50 calls Game out Again

Well as we all know by now, there has been a 'little disagreement' (term used lightly) between the Game and 50 Cent and his group G-Unit. Throughout the beef the Game came at the whole crew leaving no one exempt in many mix tape tracks, the stand out being 300 bars (300 bars freestyle where Game put everybody possible on the chopping block). This song was followed by Game's "G-Unot" campaign, where the Game had shirts and mix tapes with the same namesake. With that being said, the G-Unit did what they did in response to Game's attacks, publicly announcing their 'discontent' for the ex-member, and making tracks to back it up as well. But after the heat of the summer everything seemed to  (read full article)

Article Title :: The Theory About Guitar

I'll never forget it. Several years ago I was on my way to see KISS in concert (first time seeing them with makeup, I might add) with a good friend of mine. She was interested in music as I was; she had taken piano lessons for ten years or so. Inevitably the conversation during the drive turned to music...all different aspects of it. We got to the subject of what exactly music instrument lessons really teach you, and I asked her a very simple theory question: "What is the chord spelling for a minor chord?" (in case you are wondering, the answer is 1, flat 3, 5...more on this in later articles). I was shocked to find out that she had absolutlely NO idea what I was talking about. I trie  (read full article)

Article Title :: Five steps to improvising at the piano

You're sitting at the piano playing your favorite song but you can only play the notes on the sheet music in front of you. You long to play that song the way it is running in your head but you just don't know where to begin. Does this sound like you? Years ago I could only play the music in front of me. I knew the sound I wanted but I couldn't understand how to play it. Then one day I was listening to a cd of some favorite tunes and I could recognize what the pianist was doing. In a nutshell he was playing the scale notes in between the melody! Along the way I discovered there was a bit more but I have it down to formula that works for me now. 1.Sing the song first: Even though at first I  (read full article)
