Article Title :: My Shocking Discoveries of Fast Food French Fries

I use to believe that the reason why Americans ate poorly is because they are simply living in a fast aced society, and are misinformed. Know I don’t believe that. With many great products out there such as “super size me” Americans should get the point that fast foods are terrible for you. I remember in my Psychology class we were talking about eating disorders and the girl that sat next to me mentioned to our teacher about “super size me.”She told our teacher of the negative effects that fast foods had on American people. And what she said last disturbed me, she said that right after she saw the movie, she went to get some McDonalds! Some people know the informat  (read full article)

In today’s climate of too much information, too few facts, too many myths, too many money hungry businesses, and too many misinformed and unsuspecting Americans, you may be wondering what you need to do to prevent osteoporosis or the dissolving of your bones and how this bone wasting disease affects health and fitness. Most Americans believe that osteoporosis is caused by the lack of calcium and our best sources of calcium are dairy products and/or calcium tablets. Most doctors’ remedy, aside from taking pills or drugs, for osteoporosis or the prevention of osteoporosis is drinking milk because milk has lots of calcium in it.  Article Title :: Is YOUR Diet Schizophrenic?

According to a recent article on Frozen Food Age's website, Tim Ryan of the Culinary Institute of America was quoted as saying that Americans suffer from "dietary schizophrenia," talking skinny but eating fat.In other words, Americans may talk the talk of dietary control, but very few walk the walk and actually manage their diets in a healthy fashion. Ryan was speaking about the results from the 2005 Parade Magazine Survey entitled "What America Eats."According to the survey, nearly half (45%) of all households prepare different dinners on the same night at least once a week due to different schedules.  Article Title :: Fat Facts; Trans-Fats: What They Are, Why They Are Bad, and How to Avoid Them

HI FOLKS,I want to tell you about trans-fats. In our food, we find 3 types of fat;• Saturated fat, which is mostly of animal origin and should be eaten only in small amounts, as saturated fats raise blood levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol. Diets high in saturated fat are linked to heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure) and arterial damage.• Unsaturated fats are generally healthy and usually of plant origin. These fats reduce the blood levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol, and increase the levels of HDL (good) cholesterol. A majority of the fats in your diet should be unsaturated (oily fish, olive oil, nuts, seeds, avocados).• Trans-fats are mostly  (read full article)
