It is patented with US patent number 5,828,204 and Canadian patent number 2,178,474.The first testing of this great invention was done in 1991. | Article Title :: Parental Control - TV Rating System |
| |
| With the increase of sex and violence on television, or as George Carlin likes to delicately put it, "Sax and Violins", parents have to be more careful than ever about what they allow their children to watch. But how do they do that? Unless they've got some kind of guide or know every movie that's ever come out there is just no way they can possibly know if a movie or program is suitable for their child. The TV rating system to the rescue.Essentially, the TV rating system is a system put in place that evaluates a programs sex and violence content and rates the program accordingly. This rating is then displayed, usually at the left hand corner of your TV screen. This way, w (read full article) |

| “Why does my Baby cry? What can I do?”Every new mum and dad ask themselves frantically when their newborn cry. Most parents with newborns carry the expectation that being good parents mean having happy babies all the time (Smiling babies is what everyone usually see in all the baby magazines…)The reality is that babies have to cry.Remember: Crying is the first form of baby talk. | Article Title :: Is it Possible that Johnny Struggles with a Learning Disability AND ADHD? |
| |
| Once a referral has been initiated for a special education assessment, many parents consider the decision to pursue an evaluation to rule out the possibility of ADHD. Johnny’s pediatrician may be a trusted source for a valued ADHD evaluation. If Johnny’s pediatric office is unable to provide an ADHD evaluation, it is likely that the physician will readily recommend to a community professional that offers the testing. Unfortunately, medical insurance re-imbursement for this testing is often unavailable unless the evaluation is completed by a medical doctor.Due to the potential out of pocket expense of ADHD testing, parents may want to carefully consider the necessity of pursu (read full article) |

| Article Title :: The Hunger for Play |
| |
| “There is a tremendous hunger in our culture for true play.” This is a quote from Stuart L. Brown, M.D. who has spent years studying play in children. He is among a growing number of doctors, psychologists, child development specialists, and other professionals who are speaking out on the apparent lack of true play in children today. Are they right? Are our children “starving” for play?To be defined as play, most researchers agree that children’s activities must meet five criteria:1. Play must be pleasurable and enjoyable.
2. It must be spontaneous and voluntary.
3. A play activity contains an aspect of make believe.
4. The player must be actively (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Natural Parenting, An Innate Desire to Create Healthy and Happy Babies |
| |
| Within each one of us lies an instinct which can be the center of one of the most important parts of many people’s lives, being a parent. Unfortunately many of us have become disconnected with this natural and intuitive part of ourselves. The result is that we raise our children in the same disconnected manner as is common in Western society. The reason why you might want to end this cycle is because this disconnection from Parent to Child, and from the Parent to themselves, creates, and is the source of unfathomable amounts of suffering. This booklet is a summary of concepts which are based on the Parenting Instinct. While the details of the booklet may not be exactly accurate, o (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Why Are Parents Permitted To Destroy Their Own Children? |
| |
| Why is it that when ever I turn on the news it seems I always hear of parents harming their children?I can't tune into CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, or the local news, and not hear of yet another child either being extremely abused, neglected, or even murdered by their very own parents. I'm not referring to child deaths that are accidental. By the way, leaving an infant in a one hundred and twenty degree vehicle for five hours while getting a manicure and pedicure does not qualify as an accidental death. At least it doesn't with me. However, I realize that with a good lawyer, between pleading being stressed and depressed, the parent would probably get a slap on the wrist and a prescription (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Parents Must Be Parents First and Friends Second |
| |
| Discipline and parenting is a tough game indeed. We need to discipline but we empathize with our children and we really love them and want to be there friends too. This causes a catch 22 for parents and thus became a topic in an online think tank recently as one of the members stated;“My generation's parents felt like they wanted to be our friends instead of our parents which has lead to lack of respect for authority, lack of self-discipline, lack of personal responsibility, lack of motivation, lack of integrity overall.”Very interesting point indeed. Yes, it does appear that we did indeed have such generational conditions like this and of course anytime something change (read full article) |
