Article Title :: The Joy Of Becoming A Father

| In this article I write about my joy of becoming a parent and about how my life has changed since the birth of my son. It came as quite a shock to me a few years ago when my girlfriend told me that she was pregnant. We had in truth been trying for a baby, but I never thought it would happen. I am not really sure why this was, I am stupid I know. I have to admit that I was quite scared at first but now feel very lucky and he has truly changed my life in a positive way.Around a week before my son was born, I decided to go out for a few beers with a couple of friends. | Article Title :: Choosing Suitable Clothing for Babies |

Children seem to go through clothing at an alarming rate. They either grow out of it almost as fast as they grow into it, or the rough and tumble of play causes irreparable damage. It takes a while for their bodies to learn how to adjust to different conditions, and so it's up to you to make sure your child is dressed appropriately. I was told once that you should always dress a baby in one layer more than you're wearing yourself, and I' (read full article)

Article Title :: Becoming a Frugal Parent

It is hard to be a frugal parent. I thought I would be. I made plans to save money using cloth diapers. I planned to make baby clothes. I said why buy new when you can buy slightly used. I just didn't know. When that little baby came home, everything flew out the window. Our new home had no utility sink to wash diapers in. Anyway, I hurt too badly to stand and wash diapers. I was tired and she never slept. Disposable diapers became a necessity. You will probably find that you do have some time to make baby clothes when your child is really young, say up to six months. But after that, good luck. I suggest starting before the child is born. I made at least 30 outfits before my d (read full article)

Article Title :: A Mother's Reasons for Choosing Montessori

This is the time of year when the parents of many preschoolers must decide where their child will attend school in the Fall. I wanted to take this opportunity to share my experience with Montessori preschool education. My son is completing his second year in a Montessori preschool program and attended from the age of 3 1/2.I chose Montessori for several reasons. First, my son is a bright, inquisitive child who already had a sound grounding in recognition of his alphabet, numbers, shapes, and colors before he started preschool. I was worried that he might be bored in a more traditional preschool. Montessori’s highly individual program means he is always challenged and intere (read full article)

Article Title :: Parenting Skills I - General Principles

When a baby is born, the first touch that he or she gets is the touch of the mother. This experience sets the basis of lifelong experiences for the baby. Through the five senses the baby experiences the mother. The more positive the experiences through vision, touch, smell, taste and sound, the safer the baby feels. The need to cling to the mother is highest at this time. The baby is helpless and dependent on another independent and helpful being- the mother. When the father comes into the equation and the experiences are positive, it is like heaven for a baby. After these two wonderful people called parents meet all the physical needs, the sense of safety is of paramount importance. The (read full article)
