Article Title :: A Prayer of Faith

When Jesus departed, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. He put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness (read full article)

Article Title :: A Prophet is Rarely Recognized in His Own Family

Spiritual gifts are still looked upon by far too many in the world with some reservation, more so in Western civilization. Such is the case in my family. Raised Catholic, my parents believed in the Augustinian theory of cessation of the gifts after the days of Jesus and his apostles shortly after his death. At age 36, I was born again, and departed from Catholicism for empowered Evangelicals. As with Jesus, whose own brothers, at first anyway, thought He was a nut. My own family treated me like an outcast, regularly mock me, and don’t value my spiritual gifting. Spiritual gifts are blessings from God to be used to bless others as an instrument of the Lord. My gifti (read full article)

Article Title :: A Psychic Confesses

I don't read religious works. I don't discuss my spirituallife with any religious leader or spiritual guide. Heck!I don't even go to a traditional church. Ritual makes meshudder. My temper blows if anyone tries to 'convert' or 'save' me.Nothing makes me angrier faster than someone else buttinginto my spiritual life.Oh, I believe in the Creator. God, the Goddess, Allah,Jehovah-the Creator has a thousand names. I use 'the Creator'because the title covers all the bases and is almost poetic.I'm not knocking religion or going to church. These thingsare important and desperately needed in today's sad world. But some of us prefer to take (read full article)

"Don't you understand, everything in this life is meaningless," cautioned the old man.
"Meaningless? Everything? Surely not!" responded the young man in disbelief.
Smiling, the old man continued, "I know, I know, because I've seen it all. You name it, and I have done it. I not only did it, but I did it in a big time, kingly fashion.
"I denied myself nothing, nothing at all. But looking back on it now, I tell you, none of it really amounted to a hill of beans.
"What do think is worthwhile in life, son? The pursuit of happiness? I had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines.
"I had music from men and women singers whenever I wanted it; all the wi (read full article) |

Article Title :: A Scriptural Look At Sin

To the Christian, the subject of sin should be one of interest - not for the benefits or pleasures of it, but rather what it can do to hinder the Christian walk. Every church "worth its salt" should be preaching against sin and teaching its members to avoid the pitfalls that result in one wallowing in the mire created by sin. But is it enough to just be taught to avoid sin? I don't think so! We, as Christians, must also understand sin and what it can do to us.So, what is sin? I have heard it preached that sin is "missing the mark." In other words, "the mark" being that kind of behavior which we might describe as perfection. Therefore, when we fail to reach perfection, we have sinned (read full article)

Article Title :: A SPIRITUAL SOLUTION

At times when we think honestly, if we stop deceiving ourselves, we are forced to admit that life per se can become an unmitigated horror. Not only are we threatened by wars, financial shifts and joblessness, the calamities of nature and narcissistic manipulators, the very earth itself treats us with supreme indifference. The beautiful and productive world we inhabit slowly but surely converts every plant that sprouts a stalk and each creature that draws a breath into fertilizer to feed yet another doomed generation. A few men and women are universally successful but such superior seeming geniuses usually lose so much empathy for we lesser souls that their relationships become selfi (read full article)

Article Title :: A Strong Anchor

Stories have been told about the only thing that saved the lives of the people aboard a ship in a storm was a strong anchor. But, there are also stories of those who perished when their anchor did not hold.Luke and the Apostle Paul were aboard a ship that was tossed by a raging storm. Luke writes in Acts 27:29, about the actions of the crew, “Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight.”It is written, “The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knows them who trust Him.” (Nahum 1:7) What, or who, are you depending on to hold you in your storm? Is it God? Or, is it a par (read full article)
