What's Stopping You from Getting Your Next, Good Job?
by: Marilyn J. Tellez, M.A.
This question comes up often when I'm working with someone to help them move forward in finding their next job.
What is it that compels people to stay "stuck"?
1. I think it is often inertia. It's impossible to move forward, if you don't know what you want.
2. Knowing what you want is half the battle of leaving inertia behind, but how to know what one wants, really?
3. Defining oneself can be done by writing an autobiography of accomplish- ments, taking assessments & talking to oneself.
4. Self-esteem is part of the puzzle about moving forward. Assessments should help in that direction.

Like so many in corporate America today, Susan needed more balance in her life-but she did not know how to get it. Faced with a 60-hour work week and a lengthy daily commute, Susan was left with little time for outside interests. Her job was literally draining her of energy, and her attitude at work was changing, especially within her business unit.

Seducing with Hygiene
by: Caroline Anton
The world wide web is full of articles and stories on how to seduce women (and men). Often you would come across various products that will make women crazy about you, or vendors who would like to sell their books that repeat same things over and over again. But are women (or men) that difficult? First impressions are the impressions that last a long time, sometimes, even a lifetime. However, first impressions have little to do with how you talk or how much bank balance you have. Rather, they are completely based on how you look, and more importantly, how you smell. You can't change your looks, but you can groom them to be the most seductive per (read full article) |

Top Ten methods for never achieving your Goals
by: Sarah Pond, Life Coach
Top Ten methods to never achieve your goals:
1. Be really vague about it. Do not get specific about what you want to achieve.
2. Keep it a secret. Never tell a soul about your dreams for the future - not even yourself.
3. Hang around people who also aren't going for their goals. Success is contagious, so stay away from anyone who has clear goals and a plan to achieve them.
4. Never, EVER write down your goals. The mere act of writing down your goals is a giant step toward achieving them, so this is a big no-no.
5. Listen to all your fears and doubts. If you accidently find yourself moving toward a goal, qui (read full article) |

Who Is The Inner Critic?
by: Skye Thomas
The inner critic is that voice inside your head that tells you that you aren't good enough, smart enough, talented enough, pretty enough, or strong enough. It nags and natters at you to the point that your self confidence and sense of bravery is destroyed. You are convinced that the voice is correct and that you really don't have what it takes to live out your wildest dreams. As time goes on, you quit setting meaningful goals. You become resigned to a life of mediocrity and dullness.
The inner critic typically begins during childhood. Unfortunately most of us have had parents, siblings, teachers, friends, and enemies tell us that we aren't (read full article) |

Psychic Angels
by: Skye Thomas
Are you looking for a way to improve your accuracy as a psychic? Maybe you're just thinking it would be kind of cool if you could 'know' things before they happen. Call on the spirits to help you. It's not important what label you use to wrap your head around the concept - guardian angels, fairies, or spirit guides. You could even call on God, Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, or whomever it is that you think of when you connect to the spirit world. This isn't the place to debate who or what it is, just call on that force when you want help with tapping into your paranormal gifts. It could be a psychological trick that we're playing on ourselves by turning t (read full article) |

When You Attract Negative People, Be Thankful
by: Catherine Franz
Laws of Attraction are clearly defined. What comes back is a reflection of the energy you are radiating. If negative people are being attracted to you, then be self-assured that you are sending out energy that appeared on their radar screen.
Instead of focusing on not trying to attract them. Be thankful you are.
Okay, you say, that might be pushing it a little. Not really. You see, whatever you are attracting is giving you a clear projection of the energy that you are giving off. Or it could be something that you need to heal first in order to clear your energy. Most times, we could not see how we are radiating (read full article) |

10 Tips to Help You Ace the Interview and Get the Job
by: Helen Wilkie
The interview is the "beauty contest" part of the job search process. Interviewers get to compare candidates by asking them similar questions and comparing the answers. Being just the right person for the job won't help you if you blow the interview.
Here are ten tips to help you come out of the interview with a job offer.
1. Show responsibility by arriving on time.
Nothing sets you off on the wrong foot more than arriving late for an interview. No matter what reason you have, it won't completely erase the impression that you are disorganized and irresponsible.
2. Show confidence through a strong handshake, a p (read full article) |

Job Search "Blurts"
by: Marilyn J. Tellez, M.A.
I coined this word to draw attention to the nervous and apprehensive way of saying something in the job search that makes you feel like a buffoon. A "blurt" is a catchy way of saing: Gaffe.
When is a blurt inappropriate? For example, the interviewer has explained to you what the job duties are and you say: "Oh, I can't work on Saturdays". The interviewer has not said anything about Saturday work, only about what the job duties are. You, as the job seeker, not only made a "blurt", but you jumped ahead of what the inter- viewer might or might not have ready to say. You were not listening and fumbled your way out of the next phase o (read full article) |
