The Kaizen of Goal Setting
by: Ke o agile
There is an old way of goal setting and a new way of goal setting!
The old way of goal-setting involved setting yor goals, preparing a list of sub-goals, and then carefully checking them off one after another (as and when they were being accomplished). Am I trying o pour cold water on the goal setting method many of us grw up on?
Not necessarily
While I am not saying the step-by-step approach does not work, I am advocating a flexible-goal setting approach.
The flexible goal-setting approach acknowledges the presence of chaos and unpredictability of our modern times, where change is rapid and conditions shift in an instant.

With the U.S. economy still slumping and unemployment numbers barely moving forward, many workers may be considering what their employment future could be like if they were to lose their job. If you’re in a healthcare field, or possess computer skills, you don’t have much to worry about, except explaining why you left your last job. Ten healthcare fields that can't wait to hire you.
by: Max Stein
Healthcare is one of the hottest career fields in America today. The aging and retiring of the largest population segment in the country, known as “baby boomers”, has left the healthcare industry racing to find enough employees to fill the void. Advances in medical technology and treatment are causing people to live longer as well. Add the fact many universities and colleges don’t have enough teachers to train new employees; there becomes a ripe market for healthcare careers.
You would be amazed how many types of healthcare careers there are available. This article will discuss three main categories; patient care, (read full article) |

Ten Great Careers That Don’t Require A Four Year Degree.
by: Max Stein
One of the great myths associated with the “American Dream” is that you need to have a four-year college degree to be successful. As the economy has shifted to the information age, with a greater reliance on technology and services, this belief applies less and less.
The new economy relies on technology more than any time in the past. In fact 70% of existing jobs require specific technical knowledge and this technology is being applied in newly created industries like biometrics, homeland security, nanotechnology and reusable energy.
Eighty percent of existing jobs don’t require a four-year degree, while (read full article) |

The Need for a Belief System ... a system of organization for your experiences!
by: Edward B. Toupin
I've spoken with many people who, over time, have felt inundated by their lives. It seems as though they've accumulated all of these memories and experiences, but the information seems jumbled and overwhelming. This pile of 'mind junk' keeps getting in their way whenever they attempt to move forward in life. It's as if they feel that they have to deal with each and every disassociated memory lying on the floor of their brains.
Believe it or not, there is a way to organize all of your memories and experiences in a nice and tidy system that works only for you. It's not an easy chore, (read full article) |

After the Storm......
by: Nicholas Dixon
Have you ever wondered why is it that after we go through a bad phase in life we seem to come out better for it? It use to puzzle me too until recently after I stared down a gunman’s nozzle I realized why.
If you have ever been in a situation like I did and survived to tell the tale you would be more than grateful for everything. And the worst part is that my family home was invaded by gunmen which left us with a feeling of being so vulnerable.
I used to place few emphasis on the things that matter the most to me in like my family, my friends and the joy I get from accomplishing goals and helping people.
It was after that I began to rea (read full article) |

Are Millionaires and PhDs Really Smarter? The answer may surprise you!
by: O'Vivian
I’ve had a vast array of job experiences. While in high school, I worked as maid for a local motel. While attending college, I worked as an office worker in the Sociology Department and Museum of Fine Arts. After college, I was a social worker for six years.
Following a career change, I spent the next several years working as an editor and technical writer in various publishing and software companies, including Microsoft. And…whenever I had any spare time, I worked on my true passions: creative writing and art.
I’ve worked with maids, nurses aides, office workers, people with PhDs, and million (read full article) |

Advance Your Enthusiasm and Determination for Success
by: Steve Brunkhorst
Imagine being firmly committed to your deepest ambitions. Imagine feeling energetic and enthusiastic about your relationships, career, and all the things you want. Envision a future as bright and promising as any you have ever imagined.
Is this your typical day-to-day outlook? Do you adjust easily to unexpected obstacles and handle stressful situations resiliently? Do you thrive on challenges, or do you tend to withdraw from them?
Henry Ford said, "You can do anything if you have enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes rise to the stars. Enthusiasm is the spark in your eye, the swing in your (read full article) |

Who Controls YOUR Happiness?
by: Dr. David Thomas
Where does happiness fit on a scale of 1 to 10 in your life?
Is that a silly question? Who’s in control of your happiness??
Well, if you want to maintain continued happiness in light of difficult moments then start by identifying your thinking. Often this means that some of the way you think about certain things may need to change.
Change is difficult for many people, especially when it involves changing a behavior that you have practiced over and over again (such as drinking, smoking, overeating, etc.) And with the change often comes strong emotion.
But human beings have a wonderful ability to change how they feel by changi (read full article) |
