 Article Title :: Montreal Misery

Montreal Misery by: David Ferraro We've all done it before. Sportscenter is on showing the highlights off the latest Expos game and they show a snap shot off the bare bleachers. Of course the jokes follow like "It's easier to grab a foul ball at an Expos game than at a Little League game." But hey, who are we to talk? To underline this point I ask you another question: When was the last time you saw somebody with a "You Gotta Believe" poster at Yankee Stadium? I'm going to go ahead and assume the awnser is not for a while. It is easy to be a Yankees fan. You don't have to believe. They know every year they will have the talent to contend. It is not like that in Montreal. Their slow star  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Extend the Life Of Your Flowers By Steaming Them

Extend the Life Of Your Flowers By Steaming Them by: Gerry Belvedere This method of extending cut flower life may sound a bit drastic but it is quite effective. Have two clean buckets ready. Rinse them out with some bleach solution first. Boil some water in a kettle and fill bucket No.1 with 2 inches of the boiled water. Fill bucket No. 2 with 4 inches of cool water. Cut a half inch or so from the stems of your flowers or foliage and put them in the hot water for 20 seconds, no longer. Take them out and put them in the cool water. You should add 2 teaspoons of household bleach and a pinch of citric acid to each bucket to inhibit any further bacterial growth. The  (read full article)

 Article Title :: How To Check If Cut Flowers Are Fresh

How To Check If Cut Flowers Are Fresh by: Gerry Belvedere Fresh flowers should feel crisp or firm. Before you buy, run your hand under the flower heads from stem to petal tip. Proceed gently under the petals so as not to bruise them. If the flower vendor objects, give them a withering look and enquire in a loud voice, "Are these flowers fresh?" If the flowers feel soft, cool or damp, don't buy them. Keep testing the other bunches until you find a good one. Often there are only one or two bunches older than the others. Look and listen. Really fresh flowers will make a soft rustling sound as you stroke them. As flowers age: the foliage will start to yellow from the bottom upwa  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Greatness Falls at the Hands of a True Legend

Greatness Falls at the Hands of a True Legend by: Alex Fitzsimmons It’s implausible to imagine the player who broke the most coveted record in football being remembered as the guy that couldn’t win the big game. Peyton Manning bears that ugly scar. After shattering Dan Marino’s single season touchdown passing record, throwing for 49 TD passes, Manning’s legacy was almost guaranteed to be that of one of the greatest signal callers ever. That is, until last Sunday, when in three repugnant hours of chaos and confusion, it all melted away. Previously known for his audacity, fieriness, passion for the game and his methodically deliberate decision-making ability, Manning was undoubt  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Sex Toys - History and Benefits

Sex Toys - History and Benefits by: Steven S. Ng HISTORY OF SEX TOYS Sex toys have been used for thousands of years and many believe they had first originated from Asia. However, it was not until the ancient Greece time that sex toys such as dildos and other phallic objects were first made popular. Evidence also suggests that the Romans were the first to mass produce sex toys for a commercial purpose. The sex toys produced during these ancient times were often made out of smooth stones, carved wood, bronze or any solid fillings wrapped around in leather. They were usually long or had an oblong shape like an egg. For lubricants, olive oil was the more common choice. The term "dildo"   (read full article)

 Article Title :: The NFL Needs a New Tiebreaker

The NFL Needs a New Tiebreaker by: Terry Mitchell After enduring that disgusting final weekend of the NFL regular season, I have come to the conclusion that a new tiebreaker is needed. How a team performs during the final weekend should be the first tiebreaker, with all the current tiebreakers falling in line after that. A team that won its final game would hold the first tiebreaker advantage against a team they're tied with that lost its final game. If they both lost, both won, or both tied their final game, then the current tiebreakers would take effect in the order that they currently exist. That would accomplish at least three of positive things. First, a team with a one game lead  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Dan - A Great Coach

Dan - A Great Coach by: Aron Wallad My wife, my daughter and I had been eagerly anticipating my daughter’s first lesson with Dan, her new batting coach. Of course, we heard how good he was. Our next door neighbor glowingly spoke of Dan’s expertise as a batting coach for girls. For the first lesson the three of us (my daughter, wife and I) were nervous about how this arrangement would work out. Would she respond to him, and could she relate to him so they could develop rapport so needed between coach and student? Would his rotational hitting style be the framework from which our daughter could expand her hitting and start driving the ball on a consistent basis? Practicing after   (read full article)

 Article Title :: Why I Would Rather Be A Slugger Than A Pitcher

Why I Would Rather Be A Slugger Than A Pitcher by: Aron Wallad During the last NLCS, I asked Brandon Backe of the Astros what the hardest thing was for him in making the conversion from outfielder to pitcher in the minors. He said it was "not playing every day." That is why I would rather be a slugger, to answer your question. I'd want my mind and body to be in every inning of every game. I wouldn't want to be one elbow injury away from a possible end of my career or a lost year. I listened to Nolan Ryan talk at the last All-Star FanFest in Houston about how he would have to "rebuild" his body from one start to the next, an incredibly arduous process that the great pitchers know and f  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Inspiring Baseball Quotations

Inspiring Baseball Quotations by: Aron Wallad I loved being around the baseball players when they had something to say that I thought would have a positive impression. Here are some of the quotes that I have enjoyed and have inspired me. Bob Gibson “ I owe the public one thing - a good performance.” Sandy Koufax “ Pitching is the art of instilling fear.” Warren Spahn"A sore arm is like a headache or a toothache. It can make you feel bad, but if you just forget about it and do what you have to do, it will go away. If you really like to pitch and you want to pitch, that's what you'll do." Stan Musial "I love to play this game of baseball - I love putting on this   (read full article)

 Article Title :: Got FUN?

Got FUN? by: Clyde Dennis I just can’t help but notice, some people just don't seem to be having any fun. I mean I know sometimes you gotta be all serious and get down to business but jeez, even that can be fun. And the truth is even in business the more fun you have doing it, the more effective you are at it. Fun is one of those things that’s totally free, and you really don’t even have to work at it to have it. Another really neat thing about it is that it’s always right where you are. Wherever you go, fun is right there with you. Maybe not always readily visible but right there just below the surface, there it is. Sometimes you just have to adjust your view a little to see   (read full article)
