 Article Title :: Poker Strategy - Pot Odds

What are Pot Odds and what should you know about them? Well, Pot Odds is the ratio of what is already in the pot to the amount you would have to bet to stay in the hand. So, if there are $36 in the pot, and you would need to bet $6 to stay in the hand, the pot odds are 36 to 6, or 6 to 1. Why would you need to know this? One example of using pot odds is when your hand is not yet the best hand at the table, but it could be if the right card comes up next. For instance, with four cards on the board you hold four clubs. The odds of completing the flush on the river are roughly 5 to 1 against you. That means for you to bet there should be at least five times the bet   (read full article)

 Article Title :: Golf Course History - You Can Play The Oldest Golf Course In

The oldest golf course in the world If I asked you where the oldest golf course in the world was what would you say? Scotland – yes, good guess so far. But where in Scotland? When pressed most golfers eventually say St Andrews, but they’re wrong. Golf was played at Musselburgh near Edinburgh at least ten years before any recorded games at St Andrews. Local records suggest that golf was played on the links land near the shore at Musselburgh from around the year 1567. The “old course” in Musselburgh is still there today and retains much of its original layout. It has nine holes and can be played by all comers. Seven of the holes were laid out before 1830 (and probably muc  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Lawn Mower Parts Replacement

If you are one of those who works usually with lawnmowers, then you probably already know the big importance that lawn mower parts have. No matter what model of machine you drive, it will need some parts replacement after some years of use. Even the best manufacturers' models, which worked smoothly at the beginning or that model you bought being the sturdiest mower at the moment will have something broken and therefore will go wrong after few years. Damage and wear are two of the most typical reasons for replacing lawn mower parts. Since wear refers to parts that have been working hard and do not perform as they should, damage refers to parts that are totally broken and need to be   (read full article)

 Article Title :: Poker Scalping

I?m not sure if Poker Scalping is a recognised term for what I?m about to explain, but for me it sums up a strategy used by a lot of professional gamblers. That strategy in a nutshell is that of preying on new and vulnerable poker players in order to win consistent hourly wages from playing poker.Every day thousands of bad poker plays go online at the nets largest poker site and play badly and lose their money. That money is won not just by good poker players but also by poker players who play systematically. That is they play tight they know their odds and they play business like.These professional players are winning and winning big with some making regular six figu  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Don't Give Up!

Don't let anyone kid you. The road to self improvement and personal growth is not a short, straight, well-marked, paved highway. Looking back on my journey, I see a road meandering over hills and through valleys, around sharp curves and over muddy trails, with occasional boulders blocking my way. I can remember taking detours that took me off the beaten path and on to cow paths that wandered seemingly forever through the puckerbrush. It's been a long interesting journey.My trip began over 20 years ago when I was encouraged by a close friend to leave the world of the "walking dead" and move on to a better life. Walking dead?! Holy smokes! Where did that come from?  (read full article)

 Article Title :: Ten Backpacking Trip Essentials

I've had backpacking trips that included rain, snow, lightning, rockslides, altitude sickness, and twenty-mile days - all in a summer weekend. Wilderness trips can be dangerous, but you can make then less so, by having the following ten essentials in your backpack. 1. Knowledge. What good is a compass if you don't know how to use it? Play with matches if your fire-making skills are shaky. Learn what to do when you see a bear. Read a little, practice a little - knowledge is more likely to save you than gadgets. 2. Map and compass. These are together, because that's the way you need to use them. 3. Matches and lighter. Bring both, or waterproof matches and a fire start  (read full article)

Pool table lights are hung from the ceiling above the pool table. They should be used whether playing in the day or the night, for consistent visibility. Pool table lights come in many forms.  Article Title :: Poop Bags On Mount Shasta

Topped by snow and glaciers, Mount Shasta rises up above everything else when you approach it from the north.As soon as I saw it, I wanted to be up there. We were coming south from Oregon, after driving across the country from Michigan. A detour to northern California before heading home seemed like a good idea to both of us."I wonder if we could climb it?" I asked. John just nodded his head quietly, agreeing not to the climb, but to the fact that he was wondering the same thing. I checked the map. Mount Shasta is 14,162 feet above sea level. I liked the idea of climbing that high."Have you ever climbed a mountain," John asked me. I thought about it for a while  (read full article)
