| Article Title :: How I Became Interested In Looking At The Moon |
| |
| Like a lot of kids, my folks gave me a 60mm telescope for Christmas one year. The scope was a typical department-store brand - not very good - but to a 12-year old kid it opened up the universe.Through it I got to see the moons of Jupiter, the phases of Venus and the rings of Saturn. But above all these eye-openers, there was the moon. There in the eyepiece stood craggy mountains - spires casting long shadows across crater lowlands, dark maria and (painfully) bright highlands, a surface pockmarked with craters of all sizes, some with bright ejecta rays and some funny squiggle type features. I soon learned that the greatest amount of detail was seen along the terminator, that line s (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Surgical Biomaterials and Tissue Regeneration Technologies |
| |
| Plants, invertebrate animals, amphibians and even reptiles have the ability to regenerate lost or damaged body parts. In the case of lizards, for example, this is a defensive mechanism. When a predator attacks, the lizard can break off its own tail as a means of distraction. While the predator is busy eating the tail, the lizard escapes and regenerates the body part later on. Mammals can regenerate some skin and liver tissue, but our regenerative abilities stop there. Unlike lizards, which have nature to thank for their regenerative capabilities, we are dependent on scientists, physicians and the business community to develop new technologies that will help us repair and replace damaged t (read full article) |

| |
| Genetically Engineered Organisms and Genetically Modified Organisms, with Monsanto Corporation in the forefront of development. GE crops, including cotton seeds, have genetically modified properties with built-in resistance to herbicides and insects (Bt cotton), and are also called Frankencotton.Another mutant called terminator seeds, are sterile and force farmers to buy seed from major suppliers like Monsanto, instead of naturally saving seeds from year to year. Thankfully, terminator seeds are not expected to be marketed in the near future, according to Cornell University.Cottonseed oil from GE/GMO cotton crops is already in our food supply as a common ingredient in ma (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Look For Martian Rocks on My Ranch |
| |
|
You can search for meteorites from Mars on our Ranch!!!! Yes
they may be present. Not very likly but possible. How will you
know Ttey are from Mars? Martian meteorites are young in cosmic
terms. They are volcanic rocks. Confirmation of their Martian
origin has come came when the gases trapped in glassy nodules on
these meteorites were found to be the same to the Martian
atmosphere as measured Nasa's the Viking Lander.
Hunting for meteorites does not have to be a bone chilling
adventure to the Antarctic where the temperature is 50 below
zero F and 50 mile per hour winds. This is where a Martian rock
was found. Meteors enter the earth atmosphere everywhere. They
impact everywhere. The trick (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Sodium Vapour Lamp |
| |
|
Sodium Vapour Lamp consists of a discharge tube made from a heat
resistant glass, containing a small amount of metallic sodium,
neon gas and two electrodes, Neon gas is added to start the
discharge and to develop enough heat to vaporize the sodium.
Because of law pressure inside the tube, a sufficiently long
tube required to obtain more light. To reduce the overall
dimension of the lamp, this tube is generally bent into U-shape.
The light produced by this lamp is yellowish which is produced
at its optimum pressure of about 0.004mm of mercury. This
pressure is obtained at a temperature of about 280° C and so it
becomes necessary to maintain this temperature. For this purpose
the U-tube is (read full article) |

| Article Title :: Hydroponics - A Novel Blessing of Science |
| |
|
The term hydroponics stands for the technique of cultivating
plants in a nutrient solution rather than in soil. It's a novel
technique of growing plants in water which contains dissolved
nutrients. This technique is also known as indoor gardening,
aquiculture and tank farming.
Studies have proved the fact that plant roots are able to absorb
the nutrients from the water even without soil. The new
technique hydroponics is based on the concept that plants can be
grown without any soil at all.
Professor Gericke of the University of California, Davis, is
considered the father of hydroponics. Professor Gericke, in
1929, proved his invention by growing tomato plants in water to

| Article Title :: Our Future in Technology |
| |
|
The word 'technology' is often associated with ideologies about
the future and the advancement of society. Although this
statement may be true to a limited extent in that technology is
about foreseeing the future, technology and advancements in
technology are also largely about the present. For example,
younger generations are now more skilled in the use of Internet
as well as there being an increase in the popularity of computer
games. Hence, although there are some negative impacts
associated with spending too much time on the Internet and using
the Internet as a primary source of research, the present level
of encouragement for using technology in schools has helped us
as a society prepa (read full article) |
