Spring is coming … Easter is coming. I think of my Mom’s potato salad, dying eggs with my children, the years our bird dog spent all Easter morning ‘pointing’ the eggs we’d hidden Al fresco brunches with fresh strawberry crepes which later gave way to dining rooms formalities of lamb roast with mint jelly, and fresh asparagus, then evolving back to ham, potato salad and deviled eggs, like my Mom. The years my sons and I celebrated in the Florida Keys, now celebrating with my son’s in-laws, grilling out in the back yard. Religious services, spring bonnets, orchid corsages and Easter lilies. Customs particular to South Texas – bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes along the highwa  (read full article)

Article Title :: Bring Spring In!

Fresh, Frugal Ideas! Here are some great ideas for bringing the freshness of spring into your home. Sponge paint your walls, or a key piece of furniture. Blues, greens, pinks, and yellows in pastel shades refresh a room, and the softness of sponging gives an “impressionistic” appeal. Take clippings from outdoor ivy, and root in water for FREE houseplants. Buy inexpensive shade annuals and pot them up for indoors- fuchsias, impatiens, begonias, and primroses are wonderful for bringing in color, and deal well with the lower light indoors. Dress up candles as natural works of art instead of putting them away for the warm months. Use a glue gun to attach organic materials such as dried   (read full article)

Article Title :: Face Your Fears

Fear can be broken down into three categories: real (healthy), imagined (thought-based) and worry. Although fear can get in your way by interfering with your hopes, dreams and desires; fear is not always a bad thing. Admitting you’re afraid of something can be quite enlightening. It gives you a chance to assess what is holding you back. Real Fears Protect Let’s look first at “real” fear—that is, fear or concern that’s based in reality and that you must look at and evaluate rationally to maintain your physical, emotional or spiritual health. This kind of fear often acts as nature’s warning signal. There are definitely times when we are fearful of pursuing our hopes, dreams an  (read full article)

Article Title :: How to Run a Profitable Coaching Practice Using Your Emotional Intelligence

Pacific Management Consultants are a good example of branding. They consult with dentists on how to establish a practice that thrives. (Stay with me. We’ll get to coaching.) Read what they had to say here in their last ezine: “We have seen practices struggling along with their schedules jammed, the doctor and staff all max'd out with umpteen patients [scheduled] daily, NPs jammed in here and there. Production and collections suffering, Tx plans not getting accepted. These practices are running faster and more frantically than patients will tolerate …This happens even in a practice that appears to be far from it's capacity or even well below capacity. If you've ever had a long-distance relationship with a guy, and lose out to a new woman he finds in his hometown, even though you two had a phenomenal relationship, you might find some new research interesting, hopefully even consoling. fMRI, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging, lets researchers watch human brains in action, providing new information about how we process emotions.
