To this day, Schneider wonders whether there was a link between her daughter being a three-time egg donor and her diagnosis the tumors that were eventually found on her ovaries and abdomen. But because there are no studies of the long-term risks of egg donation, Schneider may never know if the procedure had something to do with why her daughter was diagnosed with colon cancer at such a young age. She has become a strong advocate for egg donor studies and an egg donor registry.
