Elegance and Majesty in Contrast

A perfect landing by a Mute Swan. This image reflects a strong contrast between the calmness induced by the white beauty on the swan against the disturbance caused in the water by its landing. I reduced exposure on the background to reflect the same contrast.

Hungry Hummingbirds #1

After saving these two hummingbird chicks when they were just a day old when the branch their nest was on broke during a storm (I replaced it and attached it to its original tree), I had the honor of watching them and their mom as the chicks grew to fledglings and then flew away. This picture was a few days before they actually left the nest. The dark stucco of my house provided a perfect backdrop to their activities.

Magical setting at the Pole

A young white bear from Manitoba while lazily enjoying a soft snowfall. It is morning in Hudson Bay, Canada, and the bear has just woken up. I succeeded in capturing it at an extreme temperature (-26 °), in a surreal silence, after observing its habits for a few days. The polar bear spends most of its time sleeping and lounging in the snow. It only moves when it's hungry. To hunt its favorite prey - the seal - it is willing to walk hundreds of miles. Its refined nose allowes the bear to sneak up on its prey with a paw when the seal rises to the surface to breathe.

Drying red fabric

Hundreds of sheets of cloth create a rainbow of colours as workers lay them out to dry. A sea of red, orange, pink, purple and yellow can be seen in these aerial shots as the fabric dries in a field. Workers can also be seen in the middle of the palette of colour as they unfold each sheet. Once the cloth dries it is used to create traditional Bangladeshi women's dresses.

Glymur Seagulls

Glymur is the second-highest waterfall in Iceland, with a cascade of 198 m.It was considered the highest till 2011, when new measurings gave 1st place to Morsárfoss. Doubtfully it makes any difference for seagulls flying around epic walls of water.

Blue moon

Yamagata February, the winter was approaching the end in the flatland. I was aiming for the summit of "Mt.zao" from the night. There is a beautiful crater lake which is still active as a volcano, called "Goshikinuma", and in the summer it is a beautiful lake of emerald green. It was covered with strong wind and fog, but it showed its appearance in a momentary fine weather. The crater lake where the accumulated snow began to melt was like a blue moon.

Havana Queen Story

I imagine the year to be 1957, when Havana was the world's 4th-most-expensive city at the time. Many vintage buildings remain in Havana today, and many of my friends still play and live in such buildings. Today, as the Castro era wanes, Cuba's youth have their doubts, dreams and stories... It is time to make new memories and new histories, while revisiting and reevaluating old ones...1957 is a collection of portraits and stories of my friends in Cuba...This one is called Havana Queen Story, a portrait for the drag Queen Salma. Drag Queens, together with many of the LGBT community are all issues that haven’t been tolerated well at all until recently. In recent years, they are playing to sell-out crowds again every night.

In the Arm of Mother Nature

It was a quiet morning at Nagarahole Tiger Reserve, Sun was opening up and the mist from the night was clearing. As we made a drive through the wood we saw this beautiful leopardess perching on her favourite tree. This leopardess was marking her presence by rubbing her scent glands to the tree trunk by hugging it. This behaviour was very interesting to witness as it was marking her scent on the top branches of the tree. This is one of the favourite pictures that I took recently because of the whole setup. Artistically one can visualize the tree branch as an "Arm of the Mother Nature" and leopard is holding on to it. It shows the unmitigated bonding shared between the tree and the Leopard.
