A combination casket and casket display comprises a reduced height casket shell adapted to receive the remains of a deceased and having a pair of side walls, a pair of end walls, and a bottom wall, the side walls and end walls having lower edges, the bottom wall extending below the lower edges of the side walls and end walls, a casket lid closable on the reduced height casket shell, and a casket display base having a pair of side walls and a pair of end walls, the side walls and end walls having upper edges. The reduced height casket shell is supported by the casket display base such that the lower edges of the side walls and end walls of the reduced height casket shell are at about the same height as the upper edges of the side walls and end walls of the casket display base, and the bottom wall of the reduced height casket shell extends below the upper edges of the side walls and end walls of the casket display base so as to nest within the casket display base. A combined height of the reduced height casket shell and display base is about equal to a height of a conventional height casket shell.

An apparatus including a mounting platform, wherein the mounting platform includes a substantially planar mounting surface; a clamping mechanism on the mounting surface; a memorial item retained by the clamping mechanism; and an arrangement of handles on a side of the mounting platform, wherein the side is substantially normal to the plane of the mounting surface.

An apparatus for preserving human or animal remains comprising a burial chamber further comprising a hermetically sealed interior containing gas or water vapor, wherein the gas creates a gas pressure within the hermetically sealed interior, and a vacuum pump, wherein the vacuum pump is in functional communication with the hermetically sealed interior, wherein the vacuum pump operates to evacuate the gas or the water vapor from the hermetically sealed interior, and wherein the vacuum pump is intermittently activated to reduce the gas pressure within the hermetically sealed interior for a desiccating duration.

A container system for storing remains is provided, including a rigid storage vessel defining an inner chamber for receiving remains. The system includes at least one display frame member outside the rigid storage vessel for displaying information, such as a picture. A cap is provided proximate the storage vessel, wherein the cap defines at least one storage area for receiving an object.

A decorative memorial serves to display a sealed, visible portion of cremation ashes.

An aerial disposal and dispersal of cremated remains device is presented. It is used to spread the remains of loved ones over a desired area. The device comprises a canister and a mortar, the canister being cylindrical in shape having cardboard walls, the canister further containing an igniter and burster charge in an inner cardboard tube, such inner tube being fitted with an upper cap, the mortar being cylindrical in shape with steel walls, the mortar further comprising a lifting charge which sits below an obturator disc, the obturator disc having a hole in the center, the canister fitting inside the mortar such that the canister's igniter sits atop the hole in the obturator disc. At least one device is fitted to a horizontal member to launch remains from any location.

A corrugated fiberboard box assembly including a first portion including a bottom section having a pair of opposite long edges and a pair of opposite short edges with all edges being bounded by a plurality of creases, a pair of opposing side panels running along and connected to the pair of opposite long edges by two of the plurality of creases, and a pair of opposing end panels running along and connected to the pair of opposite short edges by another two of the plurality creases. The first portion being foldable to form a rectangular box with the bottom section on the bottom and the side panels and end panels both extending substantially perpendicularly upwardly away from the bottom to form side walls of the box. The box further includes a separate inner liner configured to fit within an inside of the side walls and a top configured to fit over the tops of the side walls.

A casket comprises a casket shell adapted to receive the remains of a deceased having a pair of side walls, a pair of end walls, and a bottom wall, and a casket cap closable on the casket shell. A dish assembly is mounted to an underside of the cap. The dish assembly includes a cap panel comprising a sheet of magnetic material. At least one medallion having text and/or graphics representing a life aspect of the deceased is removably mounted on the cap panel. The medallion comprises a medallion blank having at least one magnet on a rear side thereof and having a recess on a front side thereof, a two-dimensional image positioned in the recess of the medallion blank, and a transparent layer of material overlying the two-dimensional image. The transparent layer of material is dome-shaped in cross section such that a peripheral outer edge of the layer is thinner than a central portion of the layer. The magnet removably secures the medallion blank to the magnetic material of the cap panel.

A modular casket made of lightweight materials is structurally reinforced using a structural sealant along at least the inner surfaces of the side panels, and optionally along at least side edge portions of a base panel to which the side panels are coupled, to stiffen and rigidize the casket against flexion along longitudinal and lateral axes, as well as torsional flexion. The structurally reinforced casket is sealed or more readily sealed against leakage and provides other benefits of structural stiffness and rigidity with relatively small cost and weight penalties.

A grave marker assembly that can be removably mounted and secured to a support surface such as a lawn crypt lid. The grave marker assembly has a fastening system that is not exposed to view and yet allows the grave marker to be easily installed and removed. The fastening system includes a channel and interior opening formed on a base member that is adapted to receive a fastener. The fastener in turn is adapted to be inserted into an opening formed on the crypt lid or other support surface. The assembly further includes a multi-function frame disposed along the outer periphery of the memorial marker that can serve as a decorative feature and draining functions.

A process for making a personalized container, such as an urn for ashes, a temporary coffin, or a box for memorabilia, that includes the steps of receiving instructions specifying a personalized panel to be disposed on the container; and disposing the personalized panel, typically by digital ink-jet printing, on a web such as paper, paperboard, film, laminate, or some combination thereof, in accordance with the received instructions. Generally the web, when printed, is continuous, and moving. In subsequent unit operations, the web is separated into web portions, each web portion comprising a personalized panel, with the web portion converted into a personalized container. The personalized container may employ other cues to help evoke memories of one absent, such as a recorded voice, or scent.

A funerary article for the identification and perpetuation of the memory of a deceased individual in a timeless manner, made of unalterable material, includes: a marked element (1) with a unique code that is assigned to the deceased individual, and on a pair of plates (3, 4) held together by an attachment member, both being marked with the unique code, the second plate including data for identification of the deceased individual in natural language to constitute a device for identification and remembrance. The marked element (1) is available when the Funeral Services take charge of the deceased, whereas the plates (3, 4) are produced following the burial or the cremation and are then to be attached together to definitively form the article for remembrance and identification of the deceased. A kit and a process for the production of this funerary article for identification and remembrance are also described.

A method of forming a portion of a sheet metal casket shell comprises supporting a piece of sheet metal on one side with a female die having a center die portion and opposite end die portions configured to pivot relative to the center die portion, supporting the piece of sheet metal on the opposite side with a male die having a center die portion and opposite end die portions, and pivoting the end die portions of the female die relative to the center die portion of the female die to cause the opposite ends of the piece of sheet metal to fold around the end die portions of the male die. The method can be repeated with a second piece of sheet metal thereby forming two shell halves which can be welded together to form the shell.

A containment device for holding the remains of a cremated individual. The containment device may include a receptacle with a rim section and a containment section. A cap may be sealed on the receptacle once the remains of the cremated individual are within the containment section. The outside of the receptacle may include an attachment component. Therefore, the receptacle may be displayed in one's home for a time and then may be permanently mounted in a memorial site. An anchor may attach to the attachment component to prevent theft.

A funerary urn includes a receptacle (1) that has an opening (4) that is equipped with a removable sealing partition (11) for introducing ashes. The urn is equipped with side walls (3), a lower wall (2), and an upper wall (5), with one of the walls being removable in order to open and close the urn, the urn also including first and second inside compartments (6, 7) that each has an access element that is independent of the other and separate from the opening (4) for introducing ashes. The first compartment is equipped with a window (8) toward the outside, and the second compartment is completely concealed. The urn is designed for the perpetuation of memory because it makes it possible to preserve an emotional and material trace of the deceased individual thanks to independent compartments of the receptacle receiving the ashes.

A body bag is usually rectangular and has an open end, with the other sides being closed and secured, the material thereof being porous to water, being incapable absorbing or containing water, while preventing viewing of any contents therein. The body bag of this invention is formed of a porous material, which prevents viewing of the body contained therein, while permitting water to pass therethrough. The material may be plastic or fiber.

A concrete burial vault system having a layered construction of castable material encased in an inner liner and an outer casing of a thermoplastic polymer such as polypropylene utilizes the liner and casing as a mold for the concrete and enables monolithic molds with self-supporting securing tabs. This system allows the liner and casing to be manufactured at a central location and then transported to a plurality of use locations to be filled with concrete. The manufacturing method supports the system and provides an assembly advantage.

The portable alarm system for coffins is a system that enables a person who has been mistakenly interred to transmit a signal that indicates that he/she is alive. The system includes a signal transmitting structure removably secured in the coffin or tomb. A lamp or light source provides illumination for the tomb or coffin to allay the effect of panic for the entombed person. A receiving device is located in a prominent place, whereby the transmitted signal may be readily and quickly observed by security or other personnel. After a predetermined period, the system can be easily removed from the coffin for reuse.

A decorative carapace for a burial vault including a carapace having a top surface and a substrate having a decorative graphic, the substrate being attached to the top surface of the carapace.

A device and system for assisting in the loading of a cremation container with a bottom surface into a crematory chamber with a floor. The device and system include a cylindrical body, with the body having a longitudinal axis and an external surface extending a length between a first end and a second end. The device and system further include an adhesive applied to the external surface, at one or more points along the length of the cylindrical body. The adhesive temporarily attaches the cylindrical body to the bottom surface of the cremation container.

The sealing acrylic urn vault of the invention includes a generally square sheet of ⅝″ cast acrylic serving as the base and a generally square top portion which will have four adjacent side walls bonded to its edges and protruding downward. Each opposing side wall will be bonded length-wise to each adjoining side, creating a seamless cast acrylic box, open at the bottom, that lowers onto the acrylic base. Attached to the base are four 0.625″ tall ⅝″ thick acrylic guide rails, bonded equidistant from the outside base edge on all four sides of the base. This “railing system” is the fastening guide for the acrylic top portion which lowers onto the base with the inside of the four side walls bonded with the outside edges of the four guide rails.

A reusable casket includes a metal casket box having an opening at one end and including a panel section rotatably attached to the casket box which is closeable to enclose the opening and openable to allow longitudinal movement of a casket insert into and out of the casket box through the opening. A transverse member adjacent the panel section connects opposing side panels of the box to partially define the opening. The panel section is retained to the transverse member in the closed position by locking bolts extending through the panel section to engage the transverse member. A method of making the metal casket box includes welding side, end, and floor panels together, moveably attaching the panel section relative to an opening in the end of the casket box, and attaching the transverse member to the side panels adjacent the panel section.

A carrier is provided for facilitating the carrying and transportation of a funerary container having a bottom surface, a plurality of side surfaces and a top surface, along with a length and width and interior large enough to accommodate an un-cremated corpse. The carrier includes a base member having a length generally long enough to span the width of the funerary container and a upper surface sized and configured for receiving the bottom surface of the funerary container. An upstanding member has a lower end coupled to the base member and an upper end. The upstanding member extends in a plane generally perpendicular to the base member. A handle member is provided that is coupled to the upstanding member. The handle includes a hand receiving surface engageable by the hand of the user.

A coffin for use in an alkaline hydrolysis processes described. The coffin comprises a dissolvable receptacle for a cadaver, the dissolvable receptacle being dissolvable in the alkaline hydrolysis process. A method of disposing of a cadaver is also described. The method includes the steps of placing the cadaver into a coffin comprising a dissolvable receptacle; placing the coffin in an alkaline hydrolysis unit; and adding water and a chemical into the alkaline hydrolysis unit with the cadaver, to break down the cadaver into a fluid component and a bone residue component and to dissolve the dissolvable receptacle of the coffin by alkaline hydrolysis.

A hanging memorial for displaying pictures and ashes of the deceased, and storing keepsakes. The hanging memorial includes a frame and an urn; the urn being integrated into the frame. A lateral wall and a front panel of the frame define a storage volume in which keepsakes can be placed. Alternatively an internal storage box can define the storage volume. The frame further includes a frame insert that can be configured to display a physical painting or photograph, or configured to display digital pictures. The urn is removably attached or pivotally connected to the frame by an at least one bracket, such that the contents of the urn are readily accessible. The hanging memorial may further include a niche about which the at least one bracket is positioned and into which the urn is positioned. Alternative support mechanism may also be used in place of the at least one bracket.

A coffin in an environmentally friendly material with a special shape and fittings at the places where the coffin is to be lifted, which is new in that the coffin itself has vertical recesses directed inwards, which cover both the coffin box and the lid, and wherein at each side of the coffin box bottom, a transverse lever or pipe has been placed, and wherein said pipe or lever is through-going to each and across each recess.

A flower pot and urn put together to make it possible to display a pet or loved one's cremated remains in a way like never before is generally provided. In a typical embodiment, a flower pot and urn are molded closely together so plants or flowers can drape around the urn. The pot and urn may be set on a mantel or table depending on the size or, for larger sizes, put in any room in a house. An embodiment of the present invention presents a combination flower pot and urn on a base that acts as a drip pan for the flower pot and a stand for the urn to keep it up out of the water.

A cremated remains remembrance and burial system that includes an urn, an urn lid, an urn enclosure and a headstone. The urn includes an enclosure with an opening, a first sealing mechanism and second sealing mechanism. The urn lid is capable of engaging the first sealing mechanism to substantially seal the enclosure. The urn enclosure has a recess formed therein that is adapted to receive the urn. The urn enclosure is adapted to engage the second sealing mechanism to retain the urn in engagement with the urn enclosure. The headstone has an opening formed therein that is adapted to receive at least a portion of the urn. The headstone is adapted to engage the second sealing mechanism to retain the urn in engagement with the headstone.

A burial capsule usable with an inert gas for replacing air in the burial capsule, the burial capsule comprising a sealable shell defining a chamber therein and a shell outer surface, the shell defining a shell inlet and a shell outlet both extending therethrough between the shell outer surface and the chamber for respectively receiving the inert gas and releasing the air contained in the chamber to allow replacement of the air by the inert gas when the inert gas flows in the chamber through the shell inlet. The burial capsule also includes a first valve handle anchor mountable to the shell and a first handle mountable the first valve handle anchor. The first valve handle anchor acts as a valve to selectively alternatively allow and prevent flow of the inert gas in the chamber through the shell inlet.

A memorial urn includes a central core having at least one vessel stored therein, the vessel functioning to house and identify cremated remains. A plurality of commemoratory items are secured to the central core and a protective outer shell having a plurality of indicia are secured around the core and commemoratory items. A candleholder is positioned onto the outer coating and functions to receive any number of conventional candles.

A casket assembly includes a bottom panel, side panels, flaps and end panels. The bottom panel is formed of a pliable material. The side panels are formed intrinsically with the bottom panel. Each side panel includes a lower section and an upper section foldably attached thereto. The lower section extends vertically upward from the bottom panel. In a first configuration, the upper section extends upward from the lower section. In a second configuration, the upper section extends in a direction other than vertically upward from the lower section. The end panels are formed intrinsically with the bottom panel. The flaps extend laterally from each end of the upper section. The flaps in the first configuration extend upward from a first vertical level defined by the top portion of the lower section, and in the second configuration extend downward from the first vertical level.

A funeral urn system comprising: a funeral urn defining an urn proximal attachment and a substantially opposed urn distal attachment, the funeral urn including an urn body defining an ashes receiving cavity and an urn aperture leading into the ashes receiving cavity, the funeral urn also including an urn cap selectively securable to the urn body in register with the urn aperture to seal the ashes receiving cavity; and a spear head cap, the spear head cap defining a cap proximal attachment and a substantially opposed cap distal end section tapering in a direction leading away from the cap proximal attachment. The urn proximal and distal attachments are configured and sized to be selectively attachable respectively to the urn distal and proximal attachments of another urn similar to the funeral urn. The urn distal attachment is configured and sized to be selectively attachable to the cap proximal attachment.

A body bag (900) can be assembled by a stitching process while providing increased fluid retention capabilities. An upper outer layer (101) and a lower outer layer (102), each of which can be non-woven materials, form the outer surfaces of the body bag (900). An absorbent layer (103) is disposed between the upper outer layer (101) and the lower outer layer (102). One or more edges (303,403,503,603) can be folded into a periphery (332) of the body bag (900). Stitching (802) can then be applied along the periphery (332) such that the stitching (802) passes through the upper outer layer (101), the lower outer layer (102), an upper edge (994) of the fold in the absorbent layer (103), and a complementary bottom edge (995) of the fold in the absorbent layer (103). Handles (1001,1002,1003,1004) can be included as well.

A contaminated human remains pouch includes a sheet of material that is resistant to chemical and biological agents having a substantially rectangular shape having a first long side, a second long side, a first short side and second short side. Complimentary securing elements are fixed along an edge of the first long side and along an edge of the second long side. A folded portion in each corner of the material forms a first seam between adjacent portions of the first short side and a second seam between adjacent portions of the second short side. The complimentary securing elements on the edge of the first long side and the edge of the second long side define an opening when the folder portion in each corner is folded over, and the complimentary securing elements are configured to be mated together to substantially seal the contaminated human remains pouch from cross-contamination.

A crime-scene body bag is made with a flexible material forming an enclosure defining an interior chamber sufficient to accommodate the remains of a deceased person. The bag is opened and closed with a zippering mechanism. A platform is embedded into the flexible material containing a variety of components including an electronic data storage unit; a fingerprint scanner, a digital voice recorder, a camera, a nozzle for insertion of a cover gas and for release of gases within the enclosure, a global positioning system monitor, a display screen, and a radio-frequency identification tag. Optional components include a pressurized gas capsule, an odor absorbing compound, an anti-bacterial agent, a sensor recording when the zipper is opened and the location, a bio-medical scanner, a radiation dosimeter, a locking mechanism, an end-lift handle, a central lifting strap, a zippered pouch, and a vacuum attachment.

A cremation casket includes a lid and a base. The base includes a lower member and an upper member. The lower member includes a base panel and at least first and second upstanding side wall panels. The first and second side wall panels are disposed in planes generally perpendicular to a plane in which the base panel is disposed. The upper member includes first and second upstanding side wall panels that are disposed in planes generally parallel to the planes in which the first and second side wall panels of the lower member are disposed. First and second flap panel members are also provided that are movable between the storage position wherein the base has a relatively reduced height and a used position, wherein the base has a relatively enlarged height.

The present invention relates to a method to improve the appearance of a corpse by means of the application of specific thanatocosmetic compositions. The invention also relates to the new compositions and to their use in thanato-aesthetics.

In one embodiment of a positioner, two opposing end beams may be cooperatively engaged with two opposing side beams. A first lowering unit may be cooperatively engaged with either a first end beam or first ends of the two opposing side beams. A second lowering unit may be cooperatively engaged with either a second end beam or second ends of the two opposing side beams. Legs and leg extensions may be cooperatively engaged at either end of either end beam, and pads may be placed on the distal ends of each leg extension. Actuators corresponding to each leg and leg extension may be in communication with a control unit to control the position of each actuator. Lateral extensions may be engaged with each end beam.

A paper coffin is an architecture made of corrugated cardboards, including a main body, a lid and two flat-panels. The structure of main body and lid are both identical, formed by folding a large cardboard and placing with two each long and short paperboards. Without the use of a nail or screw, a paper coffin can be erected. Moreover, laying two flat-panels of different direction honeycomb arrangement inside the main body increases the capability of the main body to carry. Because when shipped from the factory, the paper coffin is in a flattened condition and vacuum packaging, it can save a lots stocking space. The users do not need to use any glue or tape to assemble, so the assembly is not only simple, fast, and also has a cost-saving and environmental protection concept.

Methods and systems for preserving tissues in situ using critical point drying are disclosed. Such methods and systems are particularly applicable to the preservation of a deceased body, such as a deceased person or animal, with or without removal of internal tissues or organs. A fixative can be perfused through the vascular system of the body while blood is removed from the body. The exterior of the body can also be immersed in a bath of fixative. The fixative in the vascular system and the bath can be replaced by subsequent washes of buffer, de-ionized water, and/or alcohol. The alcohol-infused and fixated body can be disposed in a pressure chamber and subjected to a critical point drying process using carbon dioxide. After the critical point drying process, the body is in a preserved state.

A brake disk for a motor vehicle includes a friction ring and at least one insert portion. The insert portion is located within and arranged coaxially with the friction ring, and is configured so as to possess an annular disk shape and define a plurality of openings. The friction ring is configured such that material of the friction ring fills the plurality of openings.

A vehicle brake pad includes a back plate layer, an underlayer, an adhesive layer that mediates between the back plate layer and the underlayer, and a friction material layer, wherein the vehicle brake pad does not include a shim and wherein at least one of the back plate layer, the adhesive layer, and the underlayer has a loss factor of 0.2 or higher, calculated according to the following Equation 1, at temperatures from −100 to 300° to damp noise of a frequency range of 200 to 20,000 Hz at temperatures from −100 to 300°: (Equation 1) Loss factor η=(f2−f1)/f0, where η is a loss factor, f0 is a noise frequency, f1 is a minimum value of amplitude of a noise frequency when a noise level is reduced by 3 dB, and f2 a maximum value of amplitude when the noise level is reduced by 3 dB.

A brake pad of a disc brake, having a pad carrier plate and an intermediate layer which is fastened to the bottom surface thereof and carries an abrasive friction lining, is configured in such a way that the thickness of the unused friction lining is less than or equal to a predefined maximum wear dimension. The thickness of the friction lining plus part of the thickness of the intermediate layer correspond to the maximum wear dimension.

An adjustable damping valve device with a damping valve has an elastic element, applies an axial relative force between two elements which are constructed so as to be axially movable relative to the valve housing, or the elastic element applies a relative force between an element of the damping valve, which element is constructed so as to be axially movable relative to the valve housing, and the valve housing, or the elastic element applies a relative force between an element of the damping valve, which element is constructed so as to be axially movable relative to the valve housing, and an element which is constructed so as not to be displaceable relative to the valve housing, so that one of the axially movable elements releases a flow passage for the flow of damping medium through the damping valve at least in a neutral state of the damping valve device.

The invention provides theft prevention for wheels and cars. There is no other product of its kind only the regular wheel boot that the city puts on cars for traffic ticket violations. The devices has two metal bars with hooks that attach behind the wheel and a metal plate that covers the wheel lug nuts one of the metal bars extend out longer than the other one and is used to stop the wheel from turning. The overall function of the device is to stop car and wheel theft.

The invention relates to an electromechanical-magnetically integrated braking assistance device, comprising an electrical motor, an oil holder, a braking main cylinder, an assistant force generating portion, and a pedal input rod, an absolute displacement sensor or a relative displacement sensor is connected to the pedal input rod; a lead screw is sleeved over the pedal input rod, and a ball nut is sleeved over the lead screw; a ball nut bushing is fixed to the ball nut by being sleeved over the ball nut; a driven gear is fixed to the ball nut bushing by being sleeved over the ball nut bushing; and the electric motor meshes with the driven gear via a transmission mechanism. An end of the lead screw which passes through the ball nut bushing has an aperture, into which a feedback disc is installed; an end of the feedback disc is connected to an end of an output rod which is coaxially arranged with the lead screw inside the assistant force generating portion, and another end of the output rod extends into the braking main cylinder and is connected to a piston of the braking main cylinder.

A friction-damping energy absorber has at least one sliding post, a sliding sleeve, and two supporting boards. The at least one sliding post has two ends. Each one of the at least one sliding post is composed of multiple first material layers and multiple second material layers arranged in an alternate manner mounted. The sliding sleeve is mounted around at least one part of the at least one sliding post and is composed of at least one sliding unit. The supporting boards are respectively mounted on two ends of the at least one sliding post.

Disclosed herein is a yaw brake system including a multi-disk member disposed in an upper portion of a tower frame of wind generator and including at least two disks, and a braking member disposed in a lower end of a nacelle frame of the wind generator, and provided to brake yawing of a nacelle by interlocking with the multi-disk member. In accordance with the disclosure, it is possible to prepare for buildup of equipment, such as a blade, a hub, or a nacelle, depending on an increase in power of wind power generation, and at the same time to more effectively brake yawing of the nacelle due to a rapid change in wind direction while overcoming a limited space in the nacelle.

In an approach to interlock braking, one or more driving wheels and one or more driven wheels are engaged to rotate in the same first direction. One or more braking wheels are driven by a power transmission mechanism associated with the one or more driving wheels. A first braking surface, associated with the one or more driven wheels, and a second braking surface, associated with the one or more braking wheels, engage. A braking force is generated by the engagement of the first braking surface and the second braking surface, and transmitted by the power transmission mechanism to the one or more driving wheels.
