New site feature - Select languages to ignore

By popular demand, there is now a new feature in the sitewide settings that allows hiding series in certain languages. Once you've selected the languages to ignore, shows in these language will be hidden from: the homepage (if "Include shows not in my watchlist when in their 1st season" is enabled) and the homepage discovery widget, recent, calendar, browse, the TV Schedule and the discovery charts - hot | upcoming | trending | top from my creators | recommended. Basically, ignoring a language hides all shows in it everywhere possible. Let me know how that works for you!

Over 8000 trailers!

We now have over 8000 TV shows with trailers on Next Episode. Why is this noteworthy? Well, let me tell you: each trailer here is searched for and added manually, by handnot every video on YouTube can be added - they must not have region, age and embedding restrictionsall videos are checked on a daily basis (in a semi-automated way) and I hunt down for a replacement for the broken/restricted ones (few are the days I don't have to replace a trailer)on a daily basis I try and add trailers for popular shows that still don't have themWhile it's quite a task, I believe it's worth it to provide you with trailers when you're exploring new shows, without the hassle of encountering broken or restricted videos. So yeah, I wanted to boast a little about this milestone and look forward to reaching 10k trailers! If you find value in this effort and haven't tried Premium yet, consider a 30-day free trial. Thank you!

Slight show details rearrangement

For active shows, the Previous Episode and Next Episode sections are now moved above Show Info. Also, on desktop - Next Episode is now on the left and Previous Episode is on the right (swapped them). It'll probably take some getting used to, but I think this arrangement makes more sense. Thoughts?

Previous and Next sections back to where they were

After receiving mostly negative feedback about the recent layout change, I've now reverted it (for logged in users). Will probably add it back as a toggle in your settings in near future.

Recommendation Friday - Bosch

Nothing in the genre beats David Simon's police shows (The Wire, Homicide: Life on the Street, We Own This City). That said - Bosch is as close as it gets - not only in realism and quality but vibe as well! Bosch - a high quality crime solving drama on Prime Video Also don't miss the spin-off Bosch: Legacy which is basically a continuation of the same show.

AI powered show suggestions

Here is something I've been experimenting with recently - show discovery through AI! Try it out and see how it works for you. Don't hesitate to ask it broadly or for a very specific types of shows - even if you need to describe it in multiple paragraphs - you can. For now, this is a Premium members only feature, but good news is Premium is free to try for 30 days (even if you had the trial before) and it's very cheap after - while giving you great features and supporting my efforts here. My testing shows huge potential, but I'm still tinkering with it and figuring out where to link/integrate it on Next Episode. So yeah, give this new feature a spin and let me know how it works for you! Edit: There was a bug that was causing it to load forever for some queries. It's fixed now!

Smart show suggestion update

The newly added "show discovery through AI" (now renamed to Smart show suggestions) got smarter and more useful through a couple of additions: Now it remembers the whole conversation session, so you can iterate on it It knows your ratings so you can use that for more specific recommendations I've added details in the instructions, highlighting more strengths and limitations of the feature You can now find it in the Top section along with the rest of the discovery top chartsI'm still tinkering with it, trying to make it better and faster. Let me know how it works for you now.

Downtime

Due to issues our hosting company currently has, this night (or at least for me it was during the night) - we experienced our longest downtime ever - about 4 hours. I'll try and set it up so it'll automatically switch to a backup server in such events so this doesn't happen again. Apologies to everyone affected. All should be good now.

New features - My Streaming Services, filter and streaming availability in lists

To help you navigate the messy world of streaming services availability, Next Episode has a few new features: All lists (search, browse, top/discovery charts, watchlist, track episodes) now also show streaming availability You can now filter by streaming services availability In addition, you can add the streaming services you use to My Services and filter through that as wellThis is not just for US - your country should've been automatically detected, but if not - you can easily switch it here. Basically, it should now be easier than ever to find out where your stuff is streaming and find new great shows on the streaming services you use. Our movies section will get the same treatment soon. Let me know your thoughts and as always - if you appreciate my efforts here - consider getting Premium. Thank you!
