Over 8000 trailers!

We now have over 8000 TV shows with trailers on Next Episode. Why is this noteworthy? Well, let me tell you: each trailer here is searched for and added manually, by handnot every video on YouTube can be added - they must not have region, age and embedding restrictionsall videos are checked on a daily basis (in a semi-automated way) and I hunt down for a replacement for the broken/restricted ones (few are the days I don't have to replace a trailer)on a daily basis I try and add trailers for popular shows that still don't have themWhile it's quite a task, I believe it's worth it to provide you with trailers when you're exploring new shows, without the hassle of encountering broken or restricted videos. So yeah, I wanted to boast a little about this milestone and look forward to reaching 10k trailers! If you find value in this effort and haven't tried Premium yet, consider a 30-day free trial. Thank you!

Slight show details rearrangement

For active shows, the Previous Episode and Next Episode sections are now moved above Show Info. Also, on desktop - Next Episode is now on the left and Previous Episode is on the right (swapped them). It'll probably take some getting used to, but I think this arrangement makes more sense. Thoughts?

AI powered show suggestions

Here is something I've been experimenting with recently - show discovery through AI! Try it out and see how it works for you. Don't hesitate to ask it broadly or for a very specific types of shows - even if you need to describe it in multiple paragraphs - you can. For now, this is a Premium members only feature, but good news is Premium is free to try for 30 days (even if you had the trial before) and it's very cheap after - while giving you great features and supporting my efforts here. My testing shows huge potential, but I'm still tinkering with it and figuring out where to link/integrate it on Next Episode. So yeah, give this new feature a spin and let me know how it works for you! Edit: There was a bug that was causing it to load forever for some queries. It's fixed now!

New features - My Streaming Services, filter and streaming availability in lists

To help you navigate the messy world of streaming services availability, Next Episode has a few new features: All lists (search, browse, top/discovery charts, watchlist, track episodes) now also show streaming availability You can now filter by streaming services availability In addition, you can add the streaming services you use to My Services and filter through that as wellThis is not just for US - your country should've been automatically detected, but if not - you can easily switch it here. Basically, it should now be easier than ever to find out where your stuff is streaming and find new great shows on the streaming services you use. Our movies section will get the same treatment soon. Let me know your thoughts and as always - if you appreciate my efforts here - consider getting Premium. Thank you!

Updates to streaming services + filter and availability added to Movies

I mentioned movies will get the streaming services availability - and it's now done. Here's what's new:streaming services availability was added in all Movies lists (my movies, browse, hot, trending, search)you can now filter these lists by streaming services or "my streaming services" availabilityAlong with these specific updates regarding the Movies section, there are a few general improvements as well:when filtered by a streaming service, what you filter by is first and highlighted - the rest is grayed outmany new countries are now supported so if yours wasn't there before - check again - it most likely is nowPlease let me know how these work for you and if something looks weird on your device/browser. Next - I plan to focus on improving how My Movies looks and works (both on desktop and mobile)

Moving Your Family From Worry to Faith

We have a lot of challenges in our world right now, and worry is one of the most prominent ones people deal with. I think it’s one of the worst because worrying about challenges doesn’t do much to resolve them, and most of the time it only makes them worse. Society is also showing us that worrying is dangerous, since anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States, and one of the key ingredients in anxiety disorders is worry.     Living a life of worry has become so...

Feed Your Faith, Not Your Doubts

Have you ever noticed that when you focus on one specific problem in your life, the normal things you deal with every day tend to fade into the background? For example, not too long ago, multiple warning lights on my car’s dashboard popped on during a road trip I was taking with my wife and kids, including the dreaded “check engine” light. I couldn’t think about anything else other than the fact that my car needed maintenance as soon as possible. It was difficult to focus on the subject...

When Success Feels Like Failure

What does success in your job look like? Is it advancing in your career to higher positions? Is it earning more money? Is it making a difference in the world? Would God ever call you to something knowing that your efforts would fail? I’ve often found these questions to be interesting thoughts to ponder. God called Moses to stand up to Pharaoh, but then hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that he wouldn’t give in until enduring the various plagues. Ultimately, I think most of us would consider Moses’ “...

I just really wanted a career. I wanted the Lord to bless me with something stable.” When friends encouraged Rhonda to go into healthcare, she prayed about it. She believed...

When Mountains Are Gods

If you look at a mountain, you might see a skiing destination, a climbing challenge, or even a source of timber to be logged or ore to be mined. But there was a time when mountains were sacred. In some places, they still are. What changes when you think of a mountain not as a giant accumulation of natural resources, but as a living being?

Today’s show is part of our project on kinship with the more-than-human world — produced in collaboration with the Center for Humans and Nature, and with support from the Kalliopeia Foundation. You’ll find more information about the project at ttbook.org/kinship and humansandnature.org.

Growing up, Colbert’s father began showing signs of dementia in his mid 50s. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in his 60s and it progressed into severe Alzheimer’s. He lived in a nursing home for over 10 years before he died at 80.  His mother, who worked in a bank full-...

Faith-Filled Rest

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;  for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works,  just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. (Hebrews 4:9-11 NIV) As a lover of naps and refreshment, Sabbath and rest are very close to my heart. They sometimes seem counterintuitive in our American culture, which is so focused on the grind or the hustle of working...

Show Me Your Faith

Years ago, when I was learning to recognize and trust the leading of the Holy Spirit, I frequently crossed paths with the homeless population where I lived. To be honest, I was uncomfortable seeing them on the streets. My heart broke for them, but I didn’t believe there was anything I could do that would make a difference. I struggled to afford groceries for myself, and I couldn’t afford a place of my own. Every dollar I had needed to stretch far to cover my expenses. Sometimes, I didn’t have...
