The Gujarat high court has granted temporary bail to a murder accused to observe fasts during the holy month of Ramzan. He will have to surrender to jail on May 25, after Eid-ul-Fitr.​

The district administration in Saurashtra is jittery fearing import of coronavirus cases into the district with the permission for intrastate travel granted by the state government. Jamnagar, which had only one Covid case till now reported five new cases in the past one week.

With as many as 390 more people testing coronavirus positive since previous night, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Gujarat reached 7,403 on Friday, a health official said.

In the ward of Covid-19 patients, one could expect the medicine, anaesthesia or pulmonology experts at work. But if one visits Civil Hospital, the treating doctor could well be on his/ her way to become ophthalmologist, gynaecologist or general surgeon! In SVP hospital, he or she may be specialising in psychiatry too!

The Gujarat high court rebuked the erstwhile royal family of the princely state of Bhavnagar for its "dishonest intention" to claim a land parcel in an unauthorized manner from the Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation.
