The Delaware Department of Labor will be receiving a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to provide job training and job search assistance to displaced workers who have been challenged by residual effects from the economic downturn.

Addressing the increased demand for IT and cyber security professionals in Delaware and across the country, Governor Jack Markell launched the Delaware Cyber Aces program, an online, cyber security education and training program.

Having successfully led the Department of Labor’s efforts to support Delaware workers during one of the most challenging times in the state’s history, Secretary John McMahon announced that he would retire to spend more time with his family.

Governor Markell announced the nomination of respected educator and human resources expert Patrice Gilliam-Johnson, Ph.D. to serve as Delaware’s next Secretary of Labor.
