RAF Knettishall is a former World War II airfield in England. The field is located 6 miles SE of Thetford in Suffolk between the villages of Knettishall and Coney Weston, which lies to the south. This location is on the southern side of the Little Ouse Valley and bordering the area of heath and forest known as the Breckland.

Lords Bridge Air Ammunition Park in 1945

Lords Bridge Air Ammunition Park opened on 16th November 1939 as a forward storage facility for between 750 - 1250 tons of high explosive and incendiary bombs for 2 & 3 Bomber Groups in East Anglia. It supplied 3 sub depots at Meldreth, Riseley and Bourn as well as bomb dumps at airfields within 2 and 3 Groups. The depot was administered by 95 Maintenance Unit RAF which came under the control of RAF Bassingbourn.

RAF Polebrook (site of)

Royal Air Force Station Polebrook or more simply RAF Polebrook is a former Royal Air Force station located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east-south-east of Oundle, at Polebrook, Northamptonshire, England. The airfield was built on Rothschild estate land starting in August 1940.

It was from Polebrook that the United States Army Air Forces Eighth Air Force carried out its first heavy bomb group (Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress) combat mission on 17 August 1942, and from which Major Clark Gable flew combat missions in 1943.

This was also a Thor nuclear missile site.

Paddle steamer Delta King in Sacramento and San Francisco

The Delta King is moored in Sacramento used as a hotel.
In San Francisco it's at the pier in 1938. Click thumbnail to see it.

Delta King is a 285-foot-long paddlewheel steamboat (87 m). Delta King is the sister ship to Delta Queen, both christened 20 May 1927, traveling between Sacramento, California and San Francisco, California on 10-hour trips.

Wreck of the 2010 Polish Air Force Tu-154 crash

The 2010 Polish Air Force Tu-154 crash occurred on 10 April 2010 when a Tupolev Tu-154M aircraft of the Polish Air Force crashed near the city of Smolensk, Russia, killing all 96 people on board. These included President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and his wife Maria, former president Ryszard Kaczorowski, the chief of the Polish General Staff and other senior Polish military officers, the president of the National Bank of Poland, Poland's deputy foreign minister, Polish government officials, 18 members of the Polish parliament, senior members of the Polish clergy, and relatives of victims of the Katyn massacre. They were en route from Warsaw to attend an event marking the 70th anniversary of the massacre; the site is approximately 19 kilometres (12 mi) west of Smolensk.

Candlestick Park was an outdoor sports and entertainment stadium located in San Francisco, California, in the Bayview Heights area. The stadium was originally built as the home of Major League Baseball's San Francisco Giants, who played there from 1960 until moving into Pacific Bell Park (since renamed AT&T Park) in 2000. It was also the home field of the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League from 1971 to 2013. The 49ers moved to Levi's Stadium (located in Santa Clara, California) before the beginning of the 2014 NFL season.
