The current Polish framework for fighting foreign bribery is still inadequate to fully meet foreign bribery risks resulting from Poland’s growing economy, says a new OECD report.

Poland has become the 28th member of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), the leading international forum for bilateral providers of development co-operation.

The Polish standard VAT rate is 23%, which is well above the OECD average. The average VAT/GST standard rate in the OECD was 19.1% on 1 January 2014.

Encouraging more people to work later in life would help Poland meet the challenges of a rapidly ageing population. The percentage of old to younger groups (defined as share of over 65s to people aged 20-64) is projected to nearly triple from 22% in 2012 to 63% in 2050, according to a new OECD report.
