In the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire in London, where 79 people died or are presumed dead and many more were injured, serious concerns and questions around flammability of exterior cladding, the lack of fire sprinklers and the notion of “shelter in place,” among other subjects, have been brought to the forefront by the news media and the public at large. Jim Pauley, president and CEO of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), addressed these troubling fire safety issues in the upcoming edition of NFPA Journal, the association’s membership publication, which will be officially released next month.

With summer in full swing, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) are joining forces to remind people about the potential electrical hazards in swimming pools, hot tubs and spas, on board boats and in the waters surrounding boats, marinas and launch ramps.

In light of a recent series of fires in high-rise buildings with combustible facades, including the Grenfell tower fire, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has initiated a project to develop a fire risk assessment tool for these types of buildings to assist local authorities globally with fire safety in their communities.

Knowing that today’s homes burn faster than ever, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) announced “Every Second Counts: Plan Two Ways Out” as the official theme for this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, October 8-14, 2017. Experts say you may have as little as two minutes (or even less) to safely escape a typical home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds.

фф5 всегда была такой белой вороной среди финалок: её редко вспоминают из-за того, что она и не особо сюжетная, и на Западе долго не выходила. Единственный повод её упомянуть - это система профессий, которая потом получила развитие в ффт и фф10-2. Перепройдя фф5, я могу лишь признать, что её забвение заслужено.

Всю Final Fantasy III легко разделить на две части. Первая - это череда рандомной хуйни, куски которой друг с другом особо не вяжутся. Вторая - это основная сюжетка про злого Занде, чьё имя в первой половине почти не упоминается.

Ещё у фф3 есть две радикально разные версии. В оригинале с NES четверо героев были настолько безликими, что их имена не выводились даже рядом с их репликами. DS-ремейк (который был потом везде портирован) дал им разные дизайны и бэкграунды, но по факту ничего не изменил - герои по-прежнему максимально безликие болванчики. Какой-то намёк на индивидуальность есть только в самом начале, когда партию надо собирать (тут же главное отличие от оригинала в сценарии).

Итак, в прошлый раз мы вернули себе эиршип, самое время полетать по миру и поиссле--

Третья финалка была последней из старья, получившей официальную локализацию. Мы мало что теряли без неё: она как фф5, лишь ступенька на пути к чему-то толковому, только ступенька куда более низкая.

У игр-сервисов, помимо очевидных минусов, есть и очень заметный плюс: со временем они (как правило) становятся лишь лучше и богаче на контент. Минусы исправляются, новые плюсы появляются. То, что начиналось как проба пера, может вырасти в магнум опус.
Final Fantasy XIV – как раз такой случай.

Я написал по ней два обзора: один – в 2013-м, сразу после её выхода, где довольно сильно её раскритиковал. Второй – в 2015-м, после выхода дополнения Heavensward, когда я оказался ей вполне доволен.

С тех пор прошло ещё четыре с половиной года, на протяжении которых я писал в бложик очень мало, потому что я играл в фф14. Для меня это главная игра всего десятилетия. Сейчас, в 2020 году, в ней уже столько всего, что я и не знаю, о чем говорить. Почти всё хорошо, если не отлично. На сей раз – и в сценарии тоже.

Когда я начал свои летсплеи с комментариями для бложика летом 2012-го, у меня к ним был совсем другой подход: я исходил из того, что все читающие, как и я, знают эти игры наизусть, и старался больше шутить о происходящем. За смехуёчками как-то затёрлось то, насколько невыносимо ТУПАЯ вся фф8.

Сегодня фф8 исполняется 21 год. В Америке она смогла бы купить себе алкоголь - может, после трех-четырех стаканов виски её прохождение не казалось бы настолько мучительным.

Помните такую штуку - Google Stadia? Если нет, то вы делаете всё верно.
Так вот, для неё вышла такая штука, как Final Fantasy XV, и если вы её забыли, то вас тоже легко понять: запоминать-то там совершенно нечего.
Так вот, в стадия-версии пятнашки был эксклюзивный контент. Впервые за четыре месяца после релиза нашёлся несчастный человек, который решил его опробовать, и у него отвалилась жопа.

Поскольку я писал рецензию, я согласился на условия эмбарго, по которым обсуждать игру я до шестого числа не мог. В итоге сложилась ситуация, когда из-за утечек все в интернете уже посмотрели концовку, а я терпеливо ждал срока и молчал.

С другой стороны, после этого трейлера ни у кого уже не останется вопросов насчёт того, действительно ли это ремейк или ВОЗМОЖНО КОЕ-ЧТО ЕЩЁ.

Перво-наперво, если вы сейчас задаётесь вопросом, покупать или нет, ответ простой: покупать.

Если вы удивлены этой рекомендацией, начитавшись спойлеров по концовке, то, во-первых, её обсуждение идёт в отдельном посте, а тут мы говорим про остальную игру. А во-вторых, несмотря на то, что последняя глава игры, - полное говно, остальное перевешивает. Я бы сказал, что пропорции хорошего или нормального к плохому в FF7R - примерно 80 к 20. Это очень достойный результат, особенно если вы вспомните, как давно мы видели финалку похожего качества (если не считать фф14, то правильный ответ - Crystal Bearers, десять лет назад).

Поздравляю всех с выходом ремейка. Вот вам ещё одна порция смехуёчков про Номуру и про  главных героев концовки.

Как обычно, после большого инфоповода собираю ляпы из текстов российской игропрессы про оный повод. Сейчас - обзор ремейка фф7.

Нет, это в фф13 всё было линейно, а тут полная свобода в выборе того, что учить. Спекаться можно в совсем разные билды.

В конце 2015-го я заглянул в Final Fantasy Record Keeper – поглядеть, что это за мобильная финалка такая. Ей тогда было полгода всего, сейчас же – пять лет, и всякая игра-как-сервис за это время растёт. Не стала исключением и Record Keeper – так что пора бы в ней вернуться ещё раз.

Во многом я хочу это сделать потому, что с 2015-го я не переставал в неё играть. На то есть целый ряд причин. Во-первых, она (почти) бессюжетная, аутентичная и посвященная знакомым боям из знакомых финалок – она не городит что-то своё, а ремикширует знакомое и хорошее. Во-вторых, она очень мало требует от игрока в плане инвестиций времени/денег: я стабильно каждый день выигрывал там три боя за десять минут, и этого мне хватало, чтобы тащить почти весь актуальный контент и даже не задумываться о том, чтобы занести разработчикам бабла. Я до сих пор не заплатил ни копейки и всем доволен. В-третьих, в ней такие длинные лоадинги, что играть на ночь идеально – за десять минут усыпляет. Ну и в-четвёртых, она продолжала постоянно обновляться. С обновлениями не только появлялись новые испытания, но и расширялись возможности бойцов, и менялась мета.

Ну, точнее, я старался заниматься более важными вещами - писал про сам ремейк, про то, что в нём ок или не ок, про критику в его адрес и проблемы с ней. Само собой, вопрос языка для меня в этой всей кутерьме даже не стоял. Как он не должен стоять для любого уважающего себя человека.
