A feeder movement compensation algorithm for use within a processor controlled sewing machine. The sewing machine configured with a reciprocating needle and thread, and including a stitch plate upon which fabric to be sewn is positioned beneath the needle and thread. The machine also includes a feeder mechanism driving a feed dog thru a movement. The feed dog movement pushes the fabric along the stitch plate and the reciprocating needle and thread form stitches in the fabric. During the stitch cycle, the feed dog movement completes at least one feeder stroke. The feeder stroke includes a portion of the feed dog extending above the stitch plate and moving along the direction of feed. The feeder stroke thus pushes the fabric along the stitch plate. The compensation algorithm calculates a theoretical feeder stroke length based upon a desired stitch. The compensation algorithm then calculates a modified feeder stroke length using the theoretical feeder stroke length and at least one feeder calibration data element. The modified feeder stroke length is then performed by the feed dog during the stitch cycle to form the stitch.

A system for fluid partitioning for chemical amplification or other chemical processing or separations of a sample, comprising a first dispenser of a first polymeric sheet, wherein the first polymeric sheet contains chambers; a second dispenser of a second polymeric sheet wherein the first dispenser and the second dispenser are positioned so that the first polymeric sheet and the second polymeric sheet become parallel; a dispenser of the fluid positioned to dispense the fluid between the first polymeric sheet and the second polymeric sheet; and a seal unit that seals the first polymeric sheet and the second polymeric sheet together thereby sealing the sample between the first polymeric sheet and the second polymeric sheet and partitioning the fluid for chemical amplification or other chemical processing or separations.

Method of manufacturing a card

The present invention discloses a method of manufacturing a (plastic) card with a flexible inlay. Said method comprises following steps: manufacturing a upper housing and a lower housing; coating colloidal on inner surfaces of the upper housing and the lower housing; placing the inlay in said upper housing or the lower housing; closing the upper housing and the lower housing together to have a housing-closed card; laminating the closed housings to have a finished card. Preferably, there is provided in either the upper housing or the lower housing a slot(s) in match with the inlay(s); the inlay is placed within the slot accordingly. By means of the invention, a card with flexible inlay is manufactured, for example, an intelligent card (i.e., smart card) comprising a flexible and active circuit board and a flexible display, and properties of a new kind of card with flexible inlay are guaranteed.

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses for assembling diapers, each including a chassis connected with front and back elastic belts. As discussed in more detail below, opposing end regions of the chassis are connected with regions of the elastic belts where the elasticity of the elastic belts has been removed or deactivated. An elastic laminate may be formed by continuously bonding elastic strands between a first continuous substrate layer and a second continuous substrate layer such that the elastic strands are bonded to both the first substrate layer and the second substrate layer in heavy-bond regions. And the elastic strands are bonded to the first substrate layer and/or the second substrate layer with in light-bond regions. The elastic strands are then intermittently deactivated by cutting the strands into one or more discrete pieces in the light-bond regions. The discrete pieces retract and remain in the light-bond regions.

An adherend surface of an adherend is stuck with a protection sheet being in substantially the same shape as the adherend surface and including base and adhesive layer by a method including: sticking the sheet on a first surface of a sticking tool foldable along a symmetry-axis position of the sheet; folding the tool with the sheet such that a second surface opposite to the first surface comes inside; peeling the sheet to a folded portion of the tool to expose a portion of the adhesive layer with the tool folded; pressing the exposed portion of the adhesive layer against the adherend surface to stick a portion of the sheet on the adherend; and moving the tool along the adherend surface to expose a remaining portion of the adhesive layer and pressing the remaining portion against the adherend surface to stick a remaining portion of the sheet on the adherend.
