EXHAUST APPARATUS FOR DIESEL ENGINE

An exhaust apparatus for a diesel engine rapidly burns an unburned deposit in an upstream exhaust catalyst with heat of a heater. The exhaust apparatus includes a downstream exhaust cleaner, an upstream exhaust catalyst provided in an exhaust passage, upstream of the downstream exhaust cleaner, a heater disposed at an exhaust inlet of the upstream exhaust catalyst, and an engine starter apparatus. A control unit controls the power supply to the heater and an engine start process is performed by the engine starter apparatus. A start command unit is connected to the control unit. When the engine has been stopped and then the start command unit gives the control unit a start command, the control unit powers the heater without performing an engine start process, thereby keeping the engine stopped for a predetermined period of time after the start command has been given, and subsequently performing the engine start process.

The heat shield assembly includes an inner-most layer that is directly engagable with an exhaust component and is of a non-ceramic material with a first heat capacity and a first thermal conductivity. The heat shield assembly additionally includes an insulating layer that surrounds the inner-most layer and is of a material that has a second heat capacity which is lower than the first heat capacity and has a second thermal conductivity which is lower than the first thermal conductivity. The direct engagement of the inner-most layer with the exhaust component allows heat to be easily transferred between the exhaust component and the inner-most layer.

A fuel nozzle assembly includes a premix chamber, an air flow divider extending radially and axially within the premix chamber between an inner wall and an outer wall and a plurality of guide vanes disposed within the premix chamber. A fluid activatable adhesive for a liner-free label and methods of using are described. Preferably, the adhesive composition includes a polymer, such as an emulsion polymer formed from monomers selected from the group consisting of butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, methyl acrylate, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS), a salt of AMPS, such as its sodium salt, styrene, and combinations thereof. The adhesive composition adheres to the liner-free label to the surface of a substrate that is at room temperature, at room temperature and wet, cold, or cold and wet. In preferred embodiments, the substrate is glass or plastic, such as polyethylene terephthalate.

The adhesive system of the invention is especially useful in bonding replacement windows into vehicles. They allow for sufficient working time while still realizing a fast drive away time. An evaporator assembly for an ice-making apparatus having a vertical, substantially flat freeze surface, a refrigerant circuit, and a freeze template. A data security pocket and garment is disclosed for better positioning and protecting data and information contained in a card or device for housing such information from its theft or misappropriation when it is placed in the pocket portion of the invention. The pocket portion of the invention is specially positioned on and secured to a portion of the garment or clothing surface near or adjacent to the arm-pit area with which it is used in combination, with its own design, to provide a more protective pocket environment for placement and transportation of a card, chip or other data/information carrying or storing device or means. The pocket and the garment in combination make up four layers from which the pocket is constructed, secured and positioned.
