Scott McClellan has written a book telling the American people what was already known, but many didn't want to admit. Our citizenry is basically fantastic, but gullible to the point of refusing to believe the truth until human cost supersedes belief. Thus far the human cost is nearly 4500 American dead in Afghanistan/Iraq, thousands of casualties and even more experiencing the horrific effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Over 107 active duty personnel committed suicide in 2007 and discharged Vets are taking their lives to the number of 150 weekly. There is no way to calculate the human grief families experience, but we all know the feeling. The damage done to our national psyche is incalculable, but living out the darkness again seems to be nearing.Why do Americans allow a substandard candidate such as George W. Bush Jr. become President of the United States? His history indicated a silver spoon youth who flaunted responsibility and depended upon his father to bail him out of trouble repeatedly. Bush influence granted him access to the Texas Air National Guard 3 days after college graduation in lieu of being drafted though the waiting list was 18 months long. Later he was given a direct commission and allowed into flight training again being unqualified for the first and woefully for the second. Bush and his handlers have attempted to blur this man's fall from grace during the Guard period, but facts do exist. George Bush Jr. was removed from flight duty for failing to obey orders to take a flight physical and other reasons. Any flight duty removal immediately necessitates a board review composed of field officers who then document the exact reasons for this action. This document was never brought up by the press who either never knew or chose not to ask. Bush was aware of this and kept very quiet emphasizing only his discharge.He also never admitted violating a signed contract and two other documents when he agreed to seek out a Reserve or Guard unit in Massachusetts after being accepted in Harvard Business School and discharge from the Texas Air National Guard. He simply failed to do this without fear from the FBI who regularly investigated and detained deserters. He has no reason to fear since his father was a US Representative and being a silver spoon youth. Bush simply chose his life path as he saw fit and never worried about the consequences.His business experience is inconsequential since he followed the same routine of irregularity and authority deviation. Dependence upon his Father and George Sr.'s friends for both business advancement as well as to extricate him from delicate situations became a trademark. One business after another failed and in one situation he used his situation to make a stock market killing. Nevertheless, Bush dumped the stock, made a mint and was later investigated by the SEC. The SEC never really dropped the investigation, but Bush would claim, erroneously, it had been.His wild days of college and the Guard were punctuated by stories of alleged drug abuse, alcoholic stupor and debauchery. Their hope was both sides would simply do each other in and then the US could move into the created vacuum for US hegemony. Congress did investigate this, validated the sale of both chemical/biological agents and nuclear information. It was noted this fact did not appear during this war period, but it is vitally important. The absence of historical fact only leads to widespread distortion of the truth and the ability to bend public will to a predetermined conclusion. Bush's handlers were aware of this and carefully groomed major corporate CEOs, particularly media, to their way of thinking. Consequently, the war became primarily a media affair with very little truth coming out until recently. The public had much humor from the antics of 5-draft deferments, multi-bankrupt and thrice divorced Donald “Brain Cells Went South” Trump and of course, Sarah “American History Is A Slam Dunk” Palin’s version of Paul Revere and the US-North Korea alliance which even our own government wasn’t aware of. Americans chuckle at these gaffes, but something more odious lurks beneath the humor. Palin groupies immediately flooded Wikipedia’s Paul Revere posting and attempted to change the page. Granted, Wikipedia is not completely accurate since postings can be made by anyone, but Palinnatics did this to prove the resigned Governor right. Wikipedia immediately locked down the Revere posting until more sanity reigned. Historical revision is a key feature of TeaPublicans who shape their own reality to force feed Americans. Then neo-conservative talking heads, primarily Fox Network and of course, Limbaugh, extol the virtues of the “real” history as proclaimed by their favorite politician. A knowledge vacuum occurs which the right wing quickly moves into with pseudo-statements and many Americans accept since they know no better. Limbaugh, for example, was recently confronted with a knowledgeable person on current economics. The Rushter stammered, stuttered and lost focus when confronted with actual facts. He quickly regained composure, cut off the caller off and ranted for a few minutes. This appears to be a typical TeaPublican tactic when actual truth rears its ugly head. Its a sad reality, but no worse than Gov. Rick Perry, of Texas fame, using his influence to pressure public education to adapt a revised history for students. Features will include praising Sen. Joe McCarthy and omitting Thomas Jefferson completely-this appears to be the TeaPublican way!! The recent Anthony Weiner episode posed another interesting dilemma. TeaPublicans immediately called for his head while conveniently forgetting TeaPublican Sen.. David Vitter's, a family values guy, escapade of consorting with prostitutes wearing a diaper. Vitter still holds office and what Weiner did was with consenting adults. O’Reilly, of course, leads the pack while diverting away from his own sexual harassment suit filed by a Fox Factor producer for some very nasty acts by O'Lielly. O’Reilly claims he was being shook down, but became strangely silent when tapes recorded by the producer suddenly appeared validating her claims. Apparently, he borrowed his brother's identification papers and sought a new one to replaced his suspended one for driving while intoxicated. The judge described Giudice's driving record as "mind boggling" since it contained thirty-nine (39) suspensions! Giudice had accepted a plea agreement, but attempted several ploys to even downsize that. He was hesitant to accept the deal, convinced of his innocence, but relented after a hurried conference with his attorney. Giudice was sentenced to license revocation of two years and a $10,000 fine. His attorney attempted to argue Joe was destitute, but the judge reminded them Joe had recently been paid $75,000 for a tabloid interview. Giudice was also sentenced to 18 months in jail, but this will run concurrently with federal incarceration. Both never seem to accept reality nor the harm their children are experiencing. Joe was heard bragging about a return to Real Housewives of New Jersey for a "lot of money." Yup, he has learned his lesson. I recently cancelled a subscription to a tabloid magazine for several reasons, but the most prominent was the Guidice Family brandished prominently in several issues in an apparent attempt to evoke sympathy. Yet, Mr. and Mrs. Guidice created their own angst through acts resulting in prison and great sadness for their children. These kids deserve some publicity to illustrate harm done by their parents' greed, avarice and self-sanctification. Joe and Teresa deserve no positive publicity since he will probably be deported to Italy after prison release. Their actions will undoubtedly result in a family breakup with Joe's forced Italy return courtesy of fraud and lying. Teresa is claiming she is so innocent and it was all Joe's fault; disregard her lying to bankruptcy officials; those pesky Teresa Guidice signatures on the bilking documents; and, oh, concealed assets. This particular magazine and others post continuous articles which tend to influence others it's all right to commit felonies-just look at all the money the Guidices are going to make afterwards. No felony stigma for Teresa since Bravo Network, allegedly, wants Teresa back for season 7 of RHONJ. Don't get me wrong; I believe everyone deserves a second chance for redemption and regain societal position. Yet some magazines, net sites and possibly Bravo Network seem to think redemption isn't necessary nor paying for crimes against society. Both need to experience humility, pay their restitution, endure prison and chastise themselves for the impact upon their children; and the institutions bilked-not to receive positive publicity treating them as innocents. Change focus to the Kardashians whose claim to fame emanated from Kim's sex tape. Never mind many celebrities who spend years of blood, sweat and tears to gain the public eye; just put forth a sex tape and take it for all its worth! The only one who has earned legitimate adulation is Bruce Jenner for his Olympic feats. Other family members have used a scripted reality show, sex, failed marriages, good spin and of course, MONEY to gain entry into the wide, wide world of celebrities. Spin, public relations, drama; all combine to bring them into your home while the resulting influence is for little people to emulate their actions: and voila, SUCCESS-NOT. Its all make believe for a gullible public. A side note-Martha Stewart was also convicted of a felony and served time in prison. She is almost regarded as never being there; it just didn't happen since Stewart possessed MONEY and hired good PR people. All this is sad, but true, but the new moniker is : Felonies go away if you have the MONEY!: AT LEAST IN THE PUBLIC EYE!! (But they remain in NCIS!) Full Article

The choice is to either go forward with moral clarity or succumb to our violent past with symptoms of racism, xenophobia, nativism, sexism, misogyny, ageism, anti-Veterans, anti-American values and more. Unfortunately, the party of Lincoln is wracked with dangerous splits with the only common factors being racism, sexism, equivocations and presidential obstruction. Party vision extends only to the present and disregards past lessons to integrate with the future. The most important factors seem to be hindering the President, haranguing Hillary Clinton and uttering senseless statements. Presumptive presidential candidate Donald John Trump spouts a litany of offensive equivocations, governmental and global ignorance, and flirtation with right wing racism and anti-Semitism. His attacks on people of color, Judaism, women and Muslims seem to evolve from the same extremist philosophy; and a misguided plan to generate support from a base believing the same. Trump’s early life shows incorrigibility with parental sentence of military school beginning at age twelve. The next six years were spent with a heavy program of military ethics, duty and honor. He seems to have rebelled against these and has displayed questionable patriotism, respect for the fallen and ignorance of American values. Reaching the age of eighteen meant Selective Service registration and Trump was no exception. Following indicates his draft history: 2-S school exemption 7/28/64 2-S school exemption 12/14/65 1-A induction eligible 11/22/66 2-S school exemption 12/13/66 2-S school exemption 1/16/68 1-A induction eligible 7/9/68 1-Y not eligible 10/15/68 Trump passed his military physical examination on 12/15/66 with no indication of any disqualifying conditions. He received two successive exemptions for college, but faced a Fortunate Son dilemma due to the Vietnam War heating up. Trump was briefly eligible for entry beginning on 11/22/66, but was able to achieve more 2-S deferments until July, 1968. He now faced the realistic expectation of military service since there were no more college exemptions to be had. The Vietnam War was at its apex following the Tet Offensive in late January, 1968, and troop strength was over 500,000. Trump underwent another service physical on 9/17/68 presenting a private physician letter attesting to a diagnosis of bone heel spurs. Young Trump was given an exemption of 1-Y, not eligible for induction except in time of national emergency or declared war. This seems odd since the young man participated in athletics at the military academy and secondly, the US was in dire need of more military manpower to fight the war. Subsequently, many young men were inducted into with minor medical or psychological issues to fill the rolls. Bone heel spurs were not necessarily disqualifying since men were being accepted with flat feet, a more debilitating condition. The only other factor to take into consideration is relatively simple-he was the son of a millionaire thus in today’s parlance, affluenza. Trump later bragged his condition was not painful and temporary thus negating the 1-Y rating given and proving his Fortunate Son status. He also stated his personal Vietnam was partying and bedding beautiful women with a developing fear of venereal disease. Donnie has refused to discuss the draft subject during the campaign rebuffing all questions. One can only ponder the fate of those who took his place in the draft. Full Article

re Body Pump 64 Review By tamiandcraig.blogspot.com Published On :: Wed, 5 Dec 2007 22:46:00 -0500 Coming hot on the heels of a release that earned not just one, not even two - in fact, three coveted spots on our all-time favorites playlist, Pump 64's got some huge shoes to fill. Does it come off like a kick in the pants, or a soft pat on the bottom? Let's find out:Warm Up - At first we got excited - maybe this time, just maybe it wouldn't be another love song. Nothing doing. Yeah it's got a little beat, but you could trade this track with any of the last twenty-some-odd others - they all sound pretty much the same. Excepting Pump 54's Rise by Safri Duo, you have to rewind clear back to the 30's to get some solid variety.Squats - Instructors, you better bring your A-game to this one - Wait for the music to clue your transitions and you're sunk... you gotta count this one out. Two short breaks punctuate a looong 5:43 workout that ensures the class gets their money's worth. Caution: Anytime you mess with a classic rock anthem like More Than A Feeling, people either love it or hate it. No need to solicit opinions after the music fades away - just stretch and move on...Chest - Is it Blondie? Believe it or not, it's Freestylers - the same guys from 63's Fast Life in-your-face shoulder track. Talk about variety. And don't be fooled by the mid-track music fadeout - That's just your cue to start working from the bottom in a routine that's got more transitions than an Orson Welles thriller. Back & Hamstrings - Here's a little tweak of the classic formula: fewer, but longer, clean & press sequences - two sets of six, to be exact. At 5:33 it's also one of the longer back tracks (which leaves plenty of time for dead rows and dead lifts plus a couple of breaks to boot).Triceps - Anytime INXS shows up on a track there's cause for concern - especially when it's a tricep track that starts off with four sets of dips off the bench. With rounds of overhead extensions, bar extensions, and tricep presses there's something for everyone here. Just make sure you keep those elbows locked in!Biceps - It's all good, with a solid beat and a workout you can sink your teeth into. Which leaves us with just one unanswered question -- how long till the "funky white girl" breakout shows up on YouTube?Lunges - After three painful lunge track releases, it's sorta nice to to take a breather. But don't get comfortable: two rounds of forward/backward-stepping lunges take up the slack on a lunge workout that gets the job done even without the bench.Shoulders - Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and YSL - it's like a fashion brand names education and shoulder workout all rolled into one! Lyrics aside, you could swap this track with BP 63 and we bet hardly anyone would notice. Thankfully the choreo's all different, else the class might think we're playing shenanigans with the music...Abs - Ah yes, there's one in every release: the track that has us fighting like two thirteen-year-olds over a Hannah Montana ticket. This time it's a little blast from the past from one hit wonder Ini Kamoze, and it was Tami that got to the mailbox first this time (so she gets dibs). Small consolation: She's gotta stop dancing long enough to learn the choreo.Cool Down Stretch - Note to instructors - If your class is running late, this is the cooldown you wanna have handy: At only 4:08, it's the shortest in the arsenal (narrowly snatching that honor from 63's All-American Rejects tune). Sadly, the abbreviated timeline leaves no room for much in the way of arm stretches, so use it sparingly.Well you've made it this far, so we won't waste another moment of your time - yep, it's our famous bottom line:Music - One thing we harp on more than any other is musical variety, and 64 definitely brings the goods. Little bit techno, little bit rap, some rock, and a bit of 80's throwback - what's not to like? (yeah, we know - the Boston remake) But still, it's got enough variety to make up for its minor shortcomings, and that deserves at least an A-. Postnote: Pity we never wrote a review on 63's music, that would've earned a rock solid A. Workout Routine - Anytime you see the words "old school" or "back to basics" mentioned in the first sentence of a release's Sizzler, that's a codephrase for "nothing new" - and that's exactly what we have here. Hey, don't get the wrong idea - it's a solid workout, and there's some twisty choreo to learn, but this is all stuff we've seen before. And that's why we've got to give it a C.Instructor Video - Evidently LMI intends for instructors to do more than learn the choreo - Instead of going straight to the masterclass, the video launches with a Susan Tolj / Glen Ostargaard intro that urges viewers to interact with the DVD. An extended intro precedes the warmup track, and a TIPS hyperlink icon appears periodically throughout the class. The tips are perfectly placed - unfortunately they're about 10-20 seconds too long, but that's a minor nit. A fresh new LMI logo adorns the packaging and appears throughout the video. Three masterclass instructors make the stage look a bit bare, however. So we'll keep tag this one with a B, especially since we're just a little nostalgic for the "glitz" and nifty camerawork from recent past videos. Worked correctly, triceps develop quickly and add arm definition that looks great on men and ladies alike. So while most tracks are designed to give you practical strength for everyday life, the results you get with triceps can actually be more of more emotional benefit. Especially when someone says "Hey, you look like you've been working out lately."It was almost exactly four years ago when release 47 hit the streets. For those involved with Pump back then, the 40's series was especially exciting - the program had clearly evolved as a worldwide group fitness regime, and a loyal following numbering in the millions begun to take hold. Maybe it's our nostalgia for those those times, or just the fact that we've played those tracks so doggone much that we always manage to throw a few into our weekly mix. Last week it was 47's Tu Es Fontu, better known to our class as "The Frenchie Song" (no disrespect intended to our French counterparts, we might add).Prior to release 47, track #5 was a fairly predictable set of presses, extensions, kickbacks, and maybe a few tricep pushups thrown in for good measure. When "Tu Es Fontu" hit the floor, however, we saw presses as a relief for maybe the first time ever - for those who might remember, head choreographer Mike McSweeney said it best: "Enjoy them now, because there aren't that many." He was right. After an all-too-short set of singles, there's an eternity of thirty eight extensions and an active recovery (presses) before the kickbacks begin. If you ever wondered where your triceps are, you'll know after this routine. It gets the job done, and that's why it was a consistent pick for our Wicked Wednesday series.Tu m'a promis. Sick of waiting on machines? Tired of setting up in the back row of full classes? Well, this is the week you've been waiting for... Pick a club, just about any club right now, and chances are you'll find the tranquility you so desperately seek.But not for long... Here in the States, at least, January is by far the biggest sales month for fitness clubs. Yep, come January 2nd (gosh, maybe even January 1st) practically every club from sea to shining sea will be packed with New Year's Resolutioners - those fine folks who promise themselves that this year it'll all be different. Yes, for two, maybe even three whole weeks they'll plug away. But then the reality of life sets in, and by February it's back to the same ol', same ol' - oh, there'll be a few new faces, but mostly the same ones as before.Will you be different? We hope so. If you're a newbie, remember this: Anything you do regularly for a month becomes part of your life. Healthy living - and that includes exercise - is for everyone. We know, because we both struggled with obesity for years. It's the fear of our past that motivates our butts right back into that gym week after week. So take heart... if a couple of previously-overweight geeks like us can get it done, surely you can! Full Article

And, although I was the first to the mail box, I allowed Craig to choose the first song and for him it was the ab song. When I was reading off the artists to him, and mentioned Kanye West, he knew right away who it was. I however did not. I do know Manfred Mann's Earth Band, and I recall DJ Alligator from a previous release, but I'm pretty much out of sorts when it comes to all the new stuff. Not that I don't like - thats not what I'm saying - I'm just an ol' rocker at heart. I really like the bicep track - great song! Of course we have only listened to it once so far so too soon to tell how we feel about the whole thing. Craig will be working on the review and have it out shortly. Keep checking back...Our club only just launched BP 64 several weeks ago. We wanted it to be at the same time that they launched Body Step, a brand new program for the club. (Which by the way is doing fabulous!) We are hoping to launch 65 a tad sooner!I know the quarterly for our area was going on today - I wished we could have been there but things just did not work out this time. If anyone out there went, let us know how it was!Lately our classes have been jam packed. Whats strange is that it did not start after New Years but more around Feb. 1. Wednesday and Sunday we are usually turning people away - on Friday, well, it is still a bit slow - around 13 or so. I love the packed classes! I can remember when I first started teaching and almost wishing no one would show up to class! Now, I'm somewhat disappointed if we don't fill the room. It's so much more fun!By the way, for anyone who lives in Gwinnett County, Georgia, there is a great new magazine/website out on fun things to do in and around the area. It is called The Fun Finder.
