Read the text of Senator Bernie Sanders bill to make college tuition free for students and to be financed by a tax on Wall Street speculation. WASHINGTON, May 19 – Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today introduced legislation to make 4-year public colleges and universities tuition free. “We live in a highly competitive global economy. If our economy is to be strong, we need the best educated work force in the world. That will not happen if every year hundreds of thousands of bright young people cannot afford to go to college and if millions more leave school deeply in debt,” Sanders said. Under the legislation, $70 billion a year in assistance – two-thirds from the federal government and one-third from states – would replace what public colleges and universities now charge in tuition and fees. The federal share of the cost would be offset by imposing a tax on Wall Street transactions by investment houses, hedge funds and other speculators. The legislation also would overhaul student loan programs so students and their parents could reduce crushing debt loads which now exceed Americans’ credit card debt. Federal profits on loans would be eliminated, work-study programs expanded and incentives offered for colleges and universities to keep costs down. “We once led the world in the percentage of our people with a college degree, now we are in 12th place.” Sanders said. “Countries like Germany, Denmark, Sweden and many more are providing free or inexpensive higher education for their young people. They understand how important it is to be investing in their youth. We should be doing the same,” he added. Tuition at 4-year public colleges and universities rose by 50 percent in the United States during the past decade. As state governments have cut support for higher education, the burden has shifted to students and their parents. В связи с продолжающимися проблемами во всём мире в связи COVID-19 мы с сожалением сообщаем вам, что группа IRON MAIDEN не будет давать концерты до июня 2021 года.

Тем не менее, сейчас мы можем предоставить вам подробную информацию о наших гастрольных планах в отношении тех концертов, которые мы надеялись отыграть в этом году.

Во-первых, мы очень рады сообщить вам, что нам удалось перенести все наши европейские концерты в туре "Legacy Of The Beast" на июнь/июль 2021 года, за исключением Москвы, Санкт-Петербурга, Верта и Цюриха, которые, к сожалению, невозможно вписать в этот период.

Для усиления маршрута тура, как вы видите, мы добавили ещё 2 концерта в Арнеме и Антверпене.

Перенести хэдлайн-выступления на фестивалях, к сожалению, не удалось. В основном это связано с тем, что у нас уже был очень напряжённый по планам вариант на 2021 год, и, как я уверен, вы можете себе представить, большое количество концертов уже распланировано, и поэтому только это мы можем как-то втиснуть в наши планы. Группа получает удовольствие от выступлений на фестивалях, так что будьте уверены, что мы вернёмся к как можно большему количеству из них в другой раз.

Что касается того, что должно было стать открытием тура 2020 года и было запланировано на 1 мая в Перте (Австралия), после чего в планах были Новая Зеландия, Филиппины, Япония, Дубай и Израиль, то в настоящее время мы работаем над возможностью возвращения в как можно большее число этих стран в первой половине 2022 года — ближе к датам появится больше новостей на этот счёт.

Оказалось, что я проделал тщательную работу — это было пару дней назад — и я не смогу какое-то время ходить... Или спать без особой помощи, потому что боль не утихает.

Reality check ! For me. No - the Virus didn’t get me yet - thank God. Hope you’re all keeping extra-safe out there. A decision to relax controls doesn’t suddenly make the danger go away. But me ?? Yes, I’ve been quiet. Reason ? As well as getting over-stretched and harassed by too many demands ... I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening. So suddenly I find myself in a hospital getting scanned to find out exactly how much I’ve actually damaged myself. Turns out I did a thorough job - this is a couple of days ago - and I won’t be able to walk for a while ... or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless. So, folks ... I need to go dark for a while, getting some complete rest, at home. Please, please don’t send me sympathy - I just need some healing silence for a while. I’ll be back - but I need the complete break. «Я бы назвал Fiona Apple — её пластинка ["Fetch the Bolt Cutters"] просто сногсшибательна. В тот день, когда альбом только вышел, я его слушал часа три-четыре подряд и читал тексты. IBM has been awarded a 2017 Climate Leadership Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions and The Climate Registry.

Today, IBM announced that it achieved two major commitments four years ahead of schedule in its effort to help combat climate change.

As climate change accelerates, IBM is galvanizing the global science community with a massive infusion of computing resources, weather data, and cloud services to help researchers examine the effects of climate change, and explore strategies to mitigate its effects. IBM pledges to help direct the equivalent of up to $200 million for up to five climate-related projects judged to offer the greatest potential impact, and will then broadly share the experiments' results.

IBM's Smarter Cities Challenge program (@CitiesChallenge) will be sending teams of company experts to five municipalities through 2018 to provide pro bono consultative advice on issues such as affordable housing, economic development, immigration, and public safety.
