Nashik records 19 new cases in last 24 hours, 2nd May

Nashik, May 2 () At least 19 persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtra's Nashik district on Saturday, taking the tally to 316 here, an official said. Of the 19 new cases, seven were from Malegaon and 12 from Nashik, a release from the district administration state.With the fresh cases, the COVID-19 count in the district has gone up to 316, which includes 281 patients in Malegaon, 16 in Nashik city and 17 from other parts of the district, the statement read. As many as 12 patients have succumbed to the infection in the district, while 25 have recovered so far, it was stated.

New Delhi, May 5 () IT major Wipro on Tuesday said it has inked a pact with the Maharashtra government to repurpose one of its campuses in Hinjewadi, Pune, to a 450-bed COVID-19 intermediary care hospital in four weeks. The facility will be handed over to the state government by May 30, and the hospital will be converted back to an IT facility after a year, according to a statement. The 450-bed hospital, to be equipped to treat moderate cases, will include 12 beds to stabilise critical patients before shifting them to a tertiary care facility. "This is an independent, isolated COVID-19 dedicated complex that also includes 24 well-appointed rooms to accommodate doctors and medical staff," the company said. Shimla, May 6 () One more person tested positive for COVID-19 in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district on Wednesday, taking the number of cases to 44 in the state, officials said. The patient is a resident of Jamanabad in Kangra district, Superintendent of Police Vimukt Ranjan said.Of the total 44 patients in the state, 34 have recovered and three died. Four people were shifted to other states for treatment. Himachal Pradesh now has three active cases, one each in Sirmaur, Kangra and Mandi districts. India’s government debt could mount to 81% of GDP by 2024 even at the pre-COVID rate of growth, warns Moody’s

3 corona patients die in Indore on Friday; case count rises to 1,727 till 8th May morning

Indore, May 8 () Three COVID-19 patients, two ofthem senior citizens, succumbed in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, taking the toll to 86 in the district, where the count of positive cases breached the 1,700-mark, a senior official saidon Friday. Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Praveen Jadiasaid with 28 more people testing positive for the virus inpast 24 hours, the count has reached 1,727 in the district,the worst-hit by the infection in the state.Three men, aged 82, 63 and 40, succumbed to COVID-19,the CMHO said, adding they were also suffering from different illnesses.Of the 1,727 cases reported in the district so far,663 patients have recovered, while 86 have died.According to the latest data, the case-mortality rate(that is total deaths out of total COVID-19 infections),stands at 4.98
