A charge-transporting varnish according to the present invention includes a charge-transporting substance, a dopant substance, and an organic solvent, wherein the charge-transporting substance contains at least one selected from N,N'-di(1-naphthyl)benzidine, N,N'-di(2-naphthyl)benzidine, and N-(1-naphthyl)-N'-(2-naphthyl)benzidine. The charge-transporting varnish allows formation of a charge-transporting thin film with which an organic EL element excellent in durability can be achieved when the charge-transporting thin film is applied to a hole injection layer.

A thin film that has high flatness and high charge transport properties and enables an organic EL element to achieve excellent luminance characteristics if applied thereto can be obtained by using a charge-transporting varnish which contains a charge-transporting substance, an organosilane compound that is composed of a polymer prepared in advance by subjecting an alkoxysilane compound to hydrolysis-condensation and having a weight average molecular weight of 500-10,000, and an organic solvent, said alkoxysilane compound containing at least one compound selected from among alkoxysilane compounds represented by formulae (1-1) and (1-2). A light-emitting device includes a pair of first electrodes arranged separated from and opposing each other on a first surface of a substrate; a light-emitting layer arranged on at least one of the first electrodes; a second electrode arranged on the light-emitting layer; and a bridge layer connecting the first electrodes. The bridge layer is formed of a material having a resistance that falls within a range of 100 kΩ to 100 MΩ.

The present disclosure provides a method for packaging an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display panel. The method includes providing a first substrate and a second substrate; forming a first bonding layer in a packaging region of the first substrate; and forming a second bonding layer in a packaging region of the second substrate. The method also includes bonding the first substrate with the second substrate by molecular bonding between the first bonding layer and the second bonding layer.

The present disclosure provides a display substrate and fabricating method, a display panel, and a display apparatus. The display substrate includes a substrate including a sealing region and a driving wire on the substrate. At least a portion of the driving wire is in the sealing region. The portion of the driving wire includes: a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and sides there-between connecting to the first surface and the second surface. Each side has a projection width on the substrate of at least about 1 μm.

The sealing layer includes n sealing units each including an organic layer and an inorganic layer, in which n is an integer of 1 or greater. The organic layer and the inorganic layer are sequentially stacked on the display unit. The organic layer includes a cured product for forming an organic layer including a first photocurable monomer. The buffer layer includes a cured product for forming a buffer layer including a second and third photocurable monomer. The first and second photocurable monomers include a photocurable functional group. The third photocurable monomer is represented by Formulae 1A to 1C.

An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display panel and an OLED display apparatus are provided. The OLED display panel comprises: a first electrode and a second electrode disposed in a stacked configuration, wherein at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode is a light-output-side electrode; an organic luminescent layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode; an electron transport layer disposed between the organic luminescent layer and the second electrode; and an optical coupling layer disposed on a surface of the light-output-side electrode far away from the organic luminescent layer. The electron transport layer contains element ytterbium (Yb) with a volume percentage equal to or less than approximately 3%.

One embodiment provides a hydraulic pressure generation apparatus. In the hydraulic pressure generation apparatus, a motor attached to a base body. The base body includes: a first cylinder hole having a closed bottom in which a first piston is inserted to thereby form a master cylinder; and a second cylinder hole having a closed bottom in which a second piston is inserted to thereby form a slave cylinder. The first cylinder hole and the second cylinder hole have respective openings in a surface of the base body located on one side thereof. Axial lines of the first cylinder hole, the second cylinder hole and an output shaft of the motor are arranged approximately parallel with each other.

There is provided coal gasification unit including: a coal gasifier; a char recovery unit; flare equipment; an air flow rate adjustment valve and an oxygen supply flow passage that supply oxygen-containing gas to the coal gasifier; an inert gas supply flow passage that supplies nitrogen gas to an upstream side of the char recovery unit; and a control unit that controls a supply amount of the oxygen-containing gas and a supply amount of the nitrogen gas, in which the coal gasifier has a starting burner, and in which the control unit controls the supply amount of the nitrogen gas prior to starting combustion of starting fuel by the starting burner so that an oxygen concentration of mixed gas in which combustion gas generated by combustion of the oxygen-containing gas and the starting fuel has been mixed with the nitrogen gas becomes not more than an ignition concentration.

A product for use in a turbocharger system. A turbine housing may define a center core that is circular in shape with a circumference. The turbine housing may define a first volute that extends for a length around only a part of the circumference of the center core, and a second volute that may be positioned radially outside the first volute and that may extend entirely around the circumference of the center core. The first volute and the second volute may define first and second exhaust gas passages through the turbine housing that may be asymmetric. All points of the second volute may be radially outside the first volute from the center core over the entire length of the first volute.

In one embodiment, a plant control apparatus is configured to control a power generating plant that includes a gas turbine configured to be driven by a gas, an exhaust heat recovery boiler configured to generate steam by using heat of an exhaust gas from the gas turbine, a temperature reducing apparatus configured to cool, through a cooling medium, the steam generated by the exhaust heat recovery boiler, and a steam turbine configured to be driven by the steam cooled by the temperature reducing apparatus. The plant control apparatus includes an output controller configured to control output of the gas turbine, and a temperature reduction controller configured to control a cooling operation of the steam by the temperature reducing apparatus while the output controller controls the output of the gas turbine.

A gas separation process for treating exhaust gases from combustion processes. The invention involves routing a first portion of the exhaust stream to a carbon dioxide capture step, while simultaneously flowing a second portion of the exhaust gas stream across the feed side of a membrane, flowing a sweep gas stream, usually air, across the permeate side, then passing the permeate/sweep gas back to the combustor.

An exhaust apparatus for a diesel engine rapidly burns an unburned deposit in an upstream exhaust catalyst with heat of a heater. The exhaust apparatus includes a downstream exhaust cleaner, an upstream exhaust catalyst provided in an exhaust passage, upstream of the downstream exhaust cleaner, a heater disposed at an exhaust inlet of the upstream exhaust catalyst, and an engine starter apparatus. A control unit controls the power supply to the heater and an engine start process is performed by the engine starter apparatus. A start command unit is connected to the control unit. When the engine has been stopped and then the start command unit gives the control unit a start command, the control unit powers the heater without performing an engine start process, thereby keeping the engine stopped for a predetermined period of time after the start command has been given, and subsequently performing the engine start process.

A catalytic converter for an internal combustion engine includes a tubular member which defines a volume within which a catalytic converter substrate is located, the volume communicates with an inlet portion for receiving exhaust gas emissions and with a first outlet portion for discharging emissions after catalytic conversion. The catalytic converter may also include a pipe member within the tubular member, which connects the inlet portion with the volume and guides emissions from the inlet portion in a first direction. The pipe member opens into a deflector member which deflects emissions into the volume in a second direction, and the catalytic converter includes a second outlet portion connected to the deflector member and a valve to control gas flow through the second outlet portion to guide emissions away from the pipe member and out of the catalytic converter prior to reaching the catalytic converter substrate when the valve is open.

Various embodiments of a waste heat recovery and conversion system are disclosed. The system may include a modular heat exchanger whose energy source is provided by waste heat energy transporting fluids transferring their energy to a working fluid. The working fluid may be in a liquid state contained in a reservoir hydraulically connected to a high-pressure heat transfer chamber. The high-pressure heat transfer chamber may be configured to receive thermal energy utilized to convert the working fluid into a superheated vapor. The system may also include a waste heat conversion system hydraulically connected to the heat transfer chamber to receive the superheated vaporized working fluid from the heat transfer chamber. The waste heat conversion system may be configured to expand the superheated working fluid through an expander for the conversion of waste heat energy into useful energy. For applications involving internal combustion engines, the system may be configured such that the conversion of waste heat energy into useful energy may drive an air compressor to enhance combustion engine performance and decrease pollutant emissions.

A controller is provided, which detects operating conditions of an internal combustion engine on the basis of detection results from a group of sensors and drives an actuator that modifies an opening position of a wastegate valve on the basis of the operating conditions. When driving the wastegate valve to a fully closed opening, the controller initially drives the actuator toward a preset provisional fully closed position, and after determining on the basis of a detection result from a position sensor that an actual opening of the wastegate valve has reached the provisional fully closed opening, switches a target opening to the fully closed opening and drives the actuator accordingly.

A required opening correction amount is calculated based on a target supercharging pressure and an actual supercharging pressure, a target opening is calculated based on a required opening and the required opening correction amount, an actual operating position of a wastegate valve is determined to correspond to a fully closed position when the wastegate valve is in a fully closed condition, an actual opening of the wastegate valve is calculated based on the fully closed position and the actual operating position, an operation amount of an actuator for aligning the target opening with the actual opening is calculated based on the target opening and the actual opening, and when the target opening corresponds to the fully closed condition and the actual operating position is not decreased at or above a prescribed rate, the fully closed position is updated to the actual operating position.

In a rotary machine, a method of assembling a rotary machine, and a method of performing maintenance of a rotary machine, a combustor casing as an outer casing configured from upper and lower casings forming a half split shape, an intermediate shaft cover as an inner casing configured from upper and lower casings forming a half split shape and supporting a combustor in the combustor casing, and a pressing support mechanism that presses and supports a portion to be fit of the combustor casing and a fitting portion of the intermediate shaft cover in an axial direction of a rotor are provided, and thus, detachment of the casing is made easy and maintainability of an inside thereof is improved in the method of performing maintenance of a rotary machine.

The modular platform for offshore constructions, composed of more than two separate buoyancy elements partially immersed in water, which move along with the water wave movement and which, in the part above the water level, are connected to the structural elements forming a rigid horizontal spatial structure, characterized in that the buoyancy element (1) is given the shape of a cuboid or cylinder having at least one vertical hollow (2) to accommodate the structural element, i.e. piston (3), which forms the axis along which the buoyancy element (1) moves, and which is connected to the horizontal structural element (4) fitted to take external loads.

A system for harnessing solar energy using heating applications to generate intense heat for steam boilers and all other water heating applications. Electricity is generated using a steam turbine engine that employs a bank of four biconvex octave lenses, with each having specific sizes, radii, arc convexity and distances from one another in mathematical orderliness in compliance with the Geometry of Space and the Law of Octave of Elements of Matter. The focal points of these lenses are positioned onto a boiler tank consisting of a pair of flat steel sheets in which water runs through from one side and comes out as steam on the other side of it. The steam is then fed into a steam turbine engine to generate electricity. A dual axle sun tracker is adjusted beneath the boiler plate to track the sun's movement from both east to west and north to south at all times. A system of highly conductive carbon rods is assembled on top of the Tasoptic lenses to be activated and subsequently produce an intense arc of hot white light to simulate the sun's parallel rays during the night and cloudy days for the continuity of operation at all times.

A submersible pumping system has an electric motor, a rotary hydraulic pump driven by the electric motor, and a linear hydraulic pump that is configured to move a production fluid. The rotary hydraulic pump produces a pressurized working fluid that drives the linear hydraulic pump. In another aspect, a method is disclosed for controlling the temperature of an electric motor within a submersible pumping system disposed in a wellbore. The method includes the steps of circulating motor lubricant through a hydraulically driven production pump to reduce the temperature of the motor lubricant.

A winding device includes: a separation unit that separates sheets layered and simultaneously transported; a winding unit that winds one of the sheets separated by the separation unit; and a pressure contact unit that presses the one of the sheets wound by the winding unit from outside of the wound sheet toward the winding unit.

An upper electrode for a plasma processing apparatus includes a body portion having a plurality of through-holes, a showerhead disposed below the body portion and having a plurality of jet holes connected to the plurality of through-holes, and a buffer layer interposed between the body portion and the showerhead.

A dry etching apparatus plasma processes a wafer held by a carrier having a frame and an holding sheet. The carrier is placed on an electrode unit of a stage provided in a chamber. The electrode unit is cooled by a cooling section configured to cool the electrode unit. An upper face of the electrode unit is at least as large as the back side of the carrier. The holding sheet and the frame are cooled effectively by the heat transfer to the stage.

There are provided an adhesive for a solar-cell back sheet having an excellent curing rate and being capable of exhibiting excellent adhesive performance by short-term aging, and also a polyol composition used for the adhesive, a solar-cell back sheet using the adhesive, and a solar-cell module using the sheet. The adhesive for a solar-cell back sheet contains, as essential components, at least one hydroxyl group-containing resin (A) selected from a polyester polyurethane polyol (A1), a polyester polyol (A2), a hydroxyl group-containing (meth)acrylic resin (A3), and a hydroxyl group-containing fluorocarbon resin (A4), a polyisocyanate (B), and a cyclic amide compound (C).

A pattern-forming method includes providing a first ion beam at a first incidence angle and a second ion beam at a second incidence angle to a surface of an etch target layer formed on a substrate. Patterns are formed by patterning the etch target layer using the first and second ion beams. The first ion beam and the second ion beam are substantially symmetrical to each other with respect to a normal line that is perpendicular to a top surface of the substrate. Each of the first and second incidence angles is greater than 0 degrees and smaller than an angle obtained by subtracting a predetermined angle from 90 degrees.

A transfer system includes an expander roll for removing a wrinkle in a separator original sheet, and (i) the expander roll and (ii) a transfer roller immediately followed by or following the expander roll are spaced from each other at a distance of not less than 1 m and not more than 10 m.

An apparatus and related method of utilizing articulating vacuum plates to manipulate a film or polymeric sheet and form a three dimensional article is provided. The apparatus can be in the form of an articulating vacuum plate system which includes one or more plates or mold parts that are configured to support a sheet, constructed for example, from a polymeric film, in a two dimensional configuration or a three dimensional configuration in a first mode. The apparatus is constructed so that the plates and/or mold parts can articulate or move so as to reconfigure the sheet from a generally planar configuration into a second three dimensional configuration in a second mode for further forming, optionally while the plates and/or mold parts apply vacuum to the sheet while the plates and/or mold parts articulate, so that the plates and/or mold parts bend or otherwise manipulate the configuration and shape of the sheet.

Apparatuses and methods for applying a transfer material onto the surface of an article are disclosed, including apparatuses and methods of transfer printing on and/or decorating three-dimensional articles, as well as the articles printed and/or decorated thereby. In some cases, the apparatuses and methods involve providing a deposition device, such as a printing device; providing a transfer component; depositing a material onto a portion of the transfer component with the deposition device; modifying the portion of the transfer component with the transfer material thereon to conform the transfer component to at least a portion of the surface of the three-dimensional article; and transferring the transfer material onto the surface of the article.

Apparatuses and methods for applying a transfer material onto the surface of an article are disclosed, including apparatuses and methods of transfer printing on and/or decorating three-dimensional articles, as well as the articles printed and/or decorated thereby. In some cases, the apparatuses and methods involve providing a deposition device, such as a printing device; providing a transfer component; depositing a material onto a portion of the transfer component with the deposition device; modifying the portion of the transfer component with the transfer material thereon to conform the transfer component to at least a portion of the surface of the three-dimensional article; and transferring the transfer material onto the surface of the article.

The present invention generally relates to an improved winding apparatus useful in the production of filament wound products and particularly wound tubular products having high length to diameter ratios. The improved winding apparatus comprises a support means for supporting a rotatable mandrel during the manufacture of wound products, the support means comprising a plurality of axially spaced pins extending circumferentially around the mandrel, and a support assembly having a semicircular inner face and an opening, wherein a portion of the plurality of pins is brought into contact with the inner face of the support assembly when the mandrel is rotated.

Method and apparatus for lamination of substrates, e.g. rigid plastic layers, to manufacture laminated products. The methods include the sequential application of vacuum and mechanical force through a two-stroke process performed by a lamination apparatus having one or more force-producing stroke cylinders. Actuation of a cylinder to produce a first stroke creates a sealed chamber within the apparatus, enclosing a stack of substrates to be laminated. The sealed chamber may be evacuated of air by application of a vacuum. Subsequent actuation of a cylinder to produce a second stroke applies mechanical force to the sealed chamber, which compresses the substrates into a laminated product substantially free of air bubbles or voids.
