Wall Street negeert dramatisch banenrapport

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Wall Street koerst vrijdag richting een hoger slot. De SP 500 stijgt 1,4 procent met nog een paar uur handel te gaan. De Dow Jones index wint 1,5 procent en de Nasdaq gaat ook 1,5 procent hoger.

Wall Street positief het weekend in ondanks zwak banenrapport

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Wall Street is vrijdag hoger geindigd. De SP 500 steeg 1,7 procent op 2.930 punten. De Dow Jones index won 1,9 procent op een slot van 24.331 punten en de Nasdaq ging 1,6 procent hoger tot 9.121 punten

Coronabesmettingen richting de 4 miljoen wereldwijd

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Er zijn inmiddels ruim 3,95 miljoen besmettingen wereldwijd met het coronavirus bevestigd, waarbij het aantal in de Verenigde Staten nog altijd aardig oploopt. Dit blijkt zaterdag uit data verzameld door Johns Hopkins CSSE.

KPN SuperWifi: een uitkomst of overbodige luxe?

KPN roept het nu ook: 'Overal in huis supergoeie wifi'. De provider introduceerde onlangs SuperWifi. Een oplossing voor iedereen die overal in huis wil kunnen genieten van een optimale, draadloze, internetverbinding. Het systeem bestaat uit de standaard ExperiaBox wifimodem, aangevuld met twee extra wifipunten; zogenoemde Mesh-routers.

T-Mobile en Ziggo winnen klanten, KPN levert in

Deze week presenteerde T-Mobile de resultaten over het vierde kwartaal. Daarmee kunnen we nu een overzicht maken van de ontwikkelingen op de breedbandmarkt en de verhouding tussen de drie grote landelijke aanbieders: Ziggo, KPN en T-Mobile.

Caiway en DELTA, twee regionale internet, telefonie en tv-providers, werken sinds 2018 al intensief samen. Vanaf nu kunt u via Breedbandwinkel ook buiten Zeeland voor een DELTA glasvezel abonnement kiezen. Voorwaarde is wel dat het adres van het abonnement binnen het verzorgingsgebied van Caiway ligt.

82% meer internetoverstappers door thuiswerk-situatie

Internetvergelijker Breedbandwinkel ziet een enorme toename in klanten die overstappen naar een andere provider. Thuisblijvende kinderen en het thuiswerken vragen om een stabiele en snelle verbinding met het liefst zoveel mogelijk zenders. Ook providers KPN en Ziggo spelen in op de situatie door Film1 de komende maand gratis aan te bieden.

Ziggo en KPN hoeven netwerk niet open te stellen

Het College van Beroep voor het bedrijfsleven (CBb) heeft het besluit van de Autoriteit Consument en Markt (ACM), inzake het verplicht openstellen van het kabelnetwerk door VodafoneZiggo vernietigd. Dit betekent dat VodafoneZiggo geen andere aanbieders toegang tot haar kabelnetwerk hoeft te geven.

Glasvezel en VDSL worden vaker aanbevolen dan kabel

Internet en tv providers met abonnementen via glasvezel of VDSL worden door consumenten vaker aangeprezen bij familie, vrienden en collega's dan kabelproviders. Dat blijkt uit een recent Net Promoter Score (NPS) onderzoek van Telecompaper. Glasvezel- en VDSL providers scoren bijna vier keer hoger dan kabelproviders.

Streamingdiensten winnen door coronamaatregelen

Het staat buiten kijf dat de coronacrisis waar Nederland en de rest wereld al maanden mee kampen een grote invloed heeft op het dagelijkse (werk)leven. Het advies om zoveel mogelijk thuis te blijven en werken is, zo blijkt uit diverse onderzoeken, zowel goed als slecht nieuws voor tv- en internetproviders en aanbieders van streaming- en VOD-diensten.

Omzet telecom daalt maar kwaliteit breedband stijgt

De ACM publiceerde onlangs de meest recente Telecommonitor, een open halfjaarlijkse rapportage, over de status van de telecommarkt in de tweede helft van 2019. Daarin worden naast informatie over marktaandelen en abonnementen in de mobiele- en breedbandmarkt ook de jaaromzetten gepubliceerd die de vaste en mobiele netwerken genereren.
