The Queen, 93, referred to Prince Harry, 35, and Meghan Markle, 38, only by their first names in a statement after today's royal summit at Sandringham, in a 'very striking' move.

The unprecedented statement came after a summit at Sandringham between the Queen and Princes Charles, William and Harry, with Meghan believed to have dialled in from Canada.

The couple's spokesman insisted Meghan was not shut out of the discussion and just left it to Harry, saying: 'In the end, the Sussexes decided that it wasn't necessary for the Duchess to join'.
