Daily coal sale to power sector halves

Total supplies to the sector have slumped almost 70% this month as against April 2019. Total sales are down 26%, production has declined 11% and stocks increased 60% to touch 76 million tonnes in April. Power companies refuse to take deliveries since their stockyards are almost full because of weak demand. Other consumers also have huge stocks as many plants are shut.
