The Qantas rescue flight which lifted hundreds of Australian citizens from Wuhan took an unexpected route on its flight to Western Australia on Monday.

Passengers on board a plane feared a woman had contracted coronavirus after she was quarantined at Melbourne Airport.

Daniel Ou Yang, from Roseville in Sydney's upper north shore, had been visiting his family for Chinese New Year when the outbreak turned the city into a ghost town.
