This is the sixth consecutive year Tenable has been ranked first for market share.

According to the IDC market share report, Tenable is ranked first in global 2023 market share and revenue. Tenable credits its success to its strategic approach to risk management, which includes a suite of industry-leading exposure management solutions that expose and close security gaps, safeguarding business value, reputation and trust. The report also spotlighted the Tenable Assure Partner Program and MDR partnerships, noting, “Tenable has made more of a strategic effort to recruit managed security service providers (SPs) and improve the onboarding experience for them, as well as their customers. Managed detection and response (MDR) providers have been adding proactive exposure management because it helps shrink the customer attack surface, helping them provide better outcomes. Sophos and Coalfire are recently announced partners adding managed exposure management services to their MDR and pen testing services, respectively.”

Sir Edward Grey (1862-1933) was Britain's longest-serving Foreign Secretary, holding office from December 1905 to December 1916. Best known today for his observation on the eve of World War I, "The lamps are going out all over Europe; we won't see them lit again in our lifetime," Grey had worked tirelessly to keep the lamps on, while keeping Britain and the Empire secure. During his eventful and stressful years in office, and before and after, Grey corresponded extensively with Katharine Lyttelton (1860-1943), the wife of a high-ranking general who served as the first Chief of the General Staff. Though they were probably not lovers-readers can decide for themselves-the relationship was an intimate one, and Grey was able confide in her thoughts and feelings he concealed from Cabinet colleagues and his male friends. The letters, selected and edited by Jeff Lipkes, reveal a side to Grey that has not been fully appreciated. He was amusing, shrewd, and humane, and a close observer of individuals as well as of nature. His observations still speak to us. They will resonate with everyone who loves the outdoors and solitude. Kristen Pellegrino, recipient of the 2024 Christopher Kendall Award from the SMTD Alumni Board, presents a guest lecture with support from the Department of Music Education.

Many researchers have found connections between (a) developing a strong teacher identity; (b) building connections among themselves, their subject, and their students; and (c) positively affecting student learning and teacher satisfaction/ resilience. I will briefly share how I became interested in studying music teacher identity and my process of reframing how to study it. Then, I will spend most of the session sharing what I have learned about college music education majors’ music teacher identity development, and public-school string teachers’ and music teachers’ experiences, beliefs, teaching practices, and identities.

KRISTEN PELLEGRINO, Professor of Music Education at the University of Texas at San Antonio and Past-President of American String Teachers Association, has 40 scholarly publications. In addition to international and national research journal articles and book chapters, Kristen was co-editor of two Oxford University Press books (2019, 2023). She is currently co-authoring a third book, Conway Publications’ *Journeys of Becoming and Being Music Teachers* (forthcoming, 2025). Pellegrino’s degrees are from the University of Michigan (Ph.D. in music education; M.M. in violin/chamber music performance) and the Eastman School of Music (B.M. in music education; B.M. in violin performance).

Who are you? What is your story? How do you express yourself? The experiences of Black queer life are reflected in the ways we tell our stories. We will explore a kiki methodology grounded in ballroom culture and Black queer storytelling. Drawing from queer of color critique and narrative construction, kiki methodology engages in three components: Black queer meaning-making, Black queer storytelling, and Black queer artistic expression. Kiki methodology connects envisioning and centering words, feelings, and voices of the Black queer community in the form of storytelling in higher education. We will engage about what is needed to be in queer community and kinship through storytelling.

ABOUT DR. HUTCHINGS
Dr. Quortne R. Hutchings (they, them) is a first-generation college graduate, proud Ronald E. McNair scholar alum, and assistant professor of higher education at Northern Illinois University. Their research primarily focuses on Black gay, bisexual, queer, and non-binary undergraduate and graduate students’ academic and social experiences in higher education, minoritized student affairs professionals’ experiences in student and academic affairs, and supporting students, faculty, and staff navigating substance use and recovery. Their research has been published in the Journal of College Student Development, Departures in Critical Qualitative Research, Journal of Higher Education, and International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education.

Providence Public Schools is excited to announce the launch of our Early Contract Hiring Fair, providing a unique opportunity for prospective employees to connect with the District and secure an early contract for the 2025-2026 school year. This November we will be hosting three virtual info sessions in whichyou will be able to learn more about who we are, opportunities within PPSD, and how to obtain an Early Contract for the 25'-26' academic school year.  Please make sure to RSVP by completing the registration form.
