He spent a long time making his Halloween trilogy, but it's good to see him back directing more lively & funny films like he used to (Pineapple Express, Your Highness, Prince Avalanche, Manglehorn). Nutcrackers premiered at TIFF a few months ago and is opening direct-to-streaming on Hulu at the end of November in time for the holiday season. DGG's Nutcrackers follows strait-laced and work obsessed Mike as he is suddenly thrust into being a caregiver for his rambunctious, orphaned nephews. In the most unlikely of places, 4 siblings find a loving shelter in an unexpected turn of circumstances. Dick Tracy (1945) Tough sleuth Dick Tracy (Morgan Conway) has to crack a case when a series of murder victims starts turning up. Ultimately, he determines that they are linked to escaped convict Splitface (Mike Mazurki). Seeking vengeance, Splitface is hunting down those who have wronged him. When Tracy and his partner, Pat Patton (Lyle Latell), foil the criminal, Splitface kidnaps Tracy's girlfriend, Tess (Anne Jeffreys), holding her hostage to keep the ace detective from sending him back to prison.

Dick Tracy vs. Cueball (1946) When bald bad guy Cueball (Dick Wessel) realizes that he's been betrayed by his crew of criminals, he starts hunting them down, one by one. Continuing on his rampage, the villain also decides to eliminate his arch nemesis, Dick Tracy (Morgan Conway), but the tough-guy detective is more than ready to put up a fight. Though the conflict means Tracy must spend time away from his lady, Tess Trueheart (Anne Jeffreys), it may give the sleuth a chance to defeat Cueball once and for all.

Dick Tracy's Dilemma (1947) Legendary police detective Dick Tracy (Ralph Byrd) and his faithful partner, Pat Patton (Lyle Latell), investigate the daring heist from a local warehouse of a recently insured fortune in furs. As the pair follows clues leading to shifty socialite Tess Trueheart (Kay Christopher), a growing body count at the morgue hints at the possibility of a serial killer on the loose. Tracy and Patton struggle to find the killer while working to unravel this high-fashion mystery.

Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome (1947) On-the-lam prisoner Gruesome (Boris Karloff) uses toxic gas to pull off a bank heist. Eyewitness to the crime is Tess Truehart (Anne Gwynne), who calls on police Detective Dick Tracy (Ralph Byrd) to investigate. With few leads from the bank's incapacitated customers, and press coverage threatening to create chaos, the crime fighter is in a tough spot. When Tracy learns about the mysterious disappearance of a doctor, however, it may provide the crucial break he needs to solve the crime.
