There are aspects of summer that I truly adore. The ability to go out and expose myself without frost bitten nipples is one of them. I also like summer nights, a lot! I love the feeling of being naked under the moon and stars.
Last weekend we went to a party at a friend's house in Colorado Springs.
I knew that we had a long drive back home and I also knew the perfect quiet spot to have sex just off of highway 105 in Douglas County. It was really warm and I was very horny.




I couldn't wait to get to the 4x4 to shed some clothes.
These shots were taken just prior to grabbing a blanket and getting out to get laid.
There is something about hot summer nights that really get my juices going... and going... and going!

There was a time that I really looked forward to my birthday. When I turned 16, I was ecstatic because I was able to get my drivers license. When I became 18, I was finally considered an adult... for the most part. And on my 21st birthday, I was able to " legally " get into clubs and bars. Alas, those glorious days of positive milestones are gone... long gone!
Now birthdays bring with them more negative than positive connotation's.
This years birthday is a good example. I'm about to become a member of the "Forty Something Crowd"... You know, that group of people who aren't really that old but their not really that young either.
Last year I turned forty. It really wasn't that big of deal. After all, just a year before I had been in my thirties.
Forty Something, on the other hand, has a totally different feel. I'm entering into that obscure age zone where the really crazy shit starts to happen. MILFs start transforming into GILFs. The word cougar takes on a whole new meaning. Hair color goes from fashion choice to necessity. Visions of boob jobs dance in your head. And the term " Her Age" starts being inserted into the most positive statements about you, i.e. "She's fucking hot... for her age".
No, I'm not overly thrilled about my 41st birthday, but I suppose that I'll get used to it. ARGGGGGGGGG ...

With Easter upon us there is much talk about the so-called lost gospel of Judas, the disciple best known for betraying Jesus Christ. Apparently this manuscript paints Judas in a more favorable light as someone who was only doing Christ's bidding.

According to radiocarbon dating the papyrus is purported to be dated between A.D. 220 and 340. Other tests confirm it is consistent with known ancient methods and ingredients in known inks from the third and fourth centuries A.D.

It's all very interesting, but given that it was written by someone else a considerable time after the death of Judas it amounts to little more than the stuff that myths and legends are made of.

I'm beginning to think that I should change the name of this blog to the daily FISKing of Guy Kawasaki.

So-called expert Guy Kawasaki (blogging 120 days and counting... and no, I'm not giving him a link unless he returns the favour) throws us more pearls about how to evangelize huckster our blogs.

It seems that one of his favorite pastimes is to email everyone that has the misfortune to come across his computer. Then again, Guy has his own unique definition of what constitutes spam:

"When I started this blog, I sent out 10,000 email announcements... for example, when a bozo includes you on a large carbon-copy email, mine the addresses."

I rather liked Dave Winer's response the best:

"Disclaim: Scripting News does not meet the high standards of 120-day blogger Guy Kawasaki."

Guy calls it "evangelizing". I call it a pain in the ass.

UPDATE: Better Bad News picks up the ball with "Who Gives a Shiitake". And the blogfather himself Dave Winer liked the post so much that he even linked to it. I'm honoured folks.

The Secret Mulroney Tapes: Unguarded Confessions of a Prime Minister

Newman,' " Mr. Lavoie quoted Mr. Mulroney as saying. " 'This was my mistake and I'm going to have to live with it." "Brian Mulroney is a very colourful, entertaining man in a conversation that says things . . . because they're entertaining," Mr. Lavoie said. "For a man like this to tape him without his knowledge and use it this way is nothing short of betrayal. . . . He's quite devastated."

Sajan Venniyoor takes some pot-shots at the blogosphere, and much of what he says is true, at least on a superficial level. But Sajan takes the idea too far, and what he doesn't understand is the blogosphere must be kept free of legal and bureaucratic encumbrances, no different than the fundamental right of freedom of speech itself.

A legal notice was duly slapped on the blogger - a perfectly valid one in this case. Discretion prevailed over valour, and the blog closed down voluntarily. There was some outcry over the strong-arm tactics of the Times, but what is significant is that no attempt was made either to defend or substantiate the hostile comments made in the blog."

Writing on the 'net is no different than writing to the local newspaper editor. It's just that the technology gives blogging a much broader reach, and does not require the blessings of an editor to decide whether or not you get published.

It is the editor of public opinion that will decide if you are read. There is nothing more democratic than that. And that is a good thing because freedom of speech has never been so powerful, or so vulnerable.

That is why we see repressive regimes like China doing its darndest to plug the blogosphere. They understand its power. But in the free world discussions about imposing standards is absurb and as dangerous as the Nazi book burnings of pre-WW11.

I can see only two possible exceptions to this. The first would be those pundits who consider themselves professional blogger/journalists who want to be taken seriously. It goes without saying they should be aspiring to the same standards of mainstream media.

After all, if you are going to compete with the big boys and want be accepted on that level then you have to play the game according to the same rules.

Secondly, sites like the daily FISK that use satire humor, and clearly state in their faqs they should not be taken seriously and read for entertainment purposes only.

Otherwise, as for the rest of the joe (or josephine) bloggers out there the wired west has to be kept free. Not since the invention of the printing press has so much power been given to so many, and it must be protected at any cost.
